Chapter 274: Chapter 274: Strange Tavern and Strange Woman
Translator: PapaSmurf0700
The name Shakky is derived from the peony flower. In the world of One Piece, she is a woman cloaked in mystery. Over forty years ago, she was a target of Monkey D. Garp, Luffy's grandfather. After she retired from her pirating days, Shakky opened a bar on the Sabaody Archipelago where she now lives with Silvers Rayleigh, although they are not married.
Details about Shakky are sparse, but one fact is clear—this 69-year-old woman, affectionately called "big sis" by Camie, is not someone to underestimate.

"Shakky! I brought a few... eh?" Camie halted mid-greeting as she pushed open the door to Shakky's Rip-off Bar, her voice trailing off when she noticed the unusual scene inside.
It wasn't just Camie who was taken aback—Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates, following closely behind her, also stopped in their tracks. They were greeted by a scene that could only be described as chaotic. Several burly men, evidently pirates, were strewn about the tavern, knocked out cold, while a woman with a commanding presence stood at the center.
This had to be Shakky, the person Camie had talked about. Her appearance was striking: short black hair, a snug cropped jacket, and a red shirt emblazoned with a spider symbol, paired with patterned trousers and pink high heels. Her style alone set her apart from the average inhabitant of the archipelago.
Adding to her formidable demeanor, Shakky was gripping a bloodied man by the collar, her dominance in the room unquestionable.
Shakky, noticing the new arrivals while holding a cigarette casually between her lips, greeted them without missing a beat. "Welcome. Would you like to order something...?" she asked, turning to face the door.
On spotting Camie, her expression softened into a smile. "Oh! It's little Camie. Did a Sea King try to eat you today?" she joked, even as she tightened her grip on the man she was holding. "Sit down and wait a moment. I'm just in the middle of robbing a customer."
Camie responded with an easy, "Okay, Shakky. Take your time," and found herself a clean seat, gesturing for Luffy and the others to follow suit.
"The name of this place, Rip-off Bar, already tells you it's not normal, but..." Usopp whispered to the group after they sat down, "talking about robbing customers so openly is a bit much, don't you think?"
"There are all kinds of people here. If you don't act tough, you'll get eaten alive," Nami explained, understanding the need for Shakky's tough exterior.
"Besides, the Dark King, Silvers Rayleigh, is also connected to this place. With someone like that around, it's no wonder she's confident."
Shortly after, Shakky finished confiscating the valuables from the defeated pirates and tossed them out the door. She then flipped the sign to 'Closed' and walked back inside, ready to tend to her bar.
Seizing the moment, Camie stepped forward to share how the Straw Hat Pirates had come to her and Pappag's rescue, and their eagerness to meet Uncle Rayleigh. Shakky, intrigued by their story, handed out drinks and questioned, "How did the famous Straw Hat Pirates come to know that Rayleigh was with me?"
Her eyes then shifted towards Bai Ye, her tone playful yet probing, "Could it be that, as the rumors suggest, the mysterious Heavenly Master knows all the secrets of this sea?"
Bai Ye responded with a light shrug, dismissing the gossip, "Unfortunately, rumors aren't always reliable." He then turned to Luffy, ready to cut to the chase, "Let me explain the situation."
Without skipping a beat, Luffy called out to Camie, busy in the kitchen, "Hey, Camie! Make sure there's lots of meat for me!!!" This casual interjection underscored the deep trust Luffy placed in Bai Ye.
Bai Ye then laid out their plan: to sail for Marineford in a month to rescue Ace and their need for Rayleigh's expertise beforehand. Shakky, puzzled by their certainty in Rayleigh's assistance despite his long retirement, listened intently as Bai Ye disclosed that Portgas D. Ace was Gol D. Roger's biological son.
The news visibly startled Shakky. Taking a moment to light another cigarette and gather her thoughts, she remarked, "No wonder the World Government is staging another public execution after all these years. No wonder you're seeking out Rayleigh."
"This really is world-shaking news."
Luffy, having devoured a hefty portion of meat, blurted out eagerly, "So, tell us where Rayleigh is, Auntie!"
Shakky, unfazed by the informal title, smiled warmly at Luffy's straightforwardness. "Straw Hat Luffy, can I call you Little Monkey?"
"Oh, sure," Luffy replied nonchalantly, unbothered by the nickname.
Leaning back with her chin on her hand, Shakky confessed, "I'd love to tell you where Rayleigh is, but honestly, I don't know either. He could be at any bar or gambling den by now."
Luffy shrugged off the uncertainty, "Is that so? Then we'll just hang out here. He's bound to show up sooner or later."
Shakky corrected him gently, "That might be harder than you think. Rayleigh hasn't been around here for the last six months."
Luffy's eyes widened in shock, "HALF A YEAR?!!"
Amused by his reaction, Shakky laughed softly, "He's probably out gambling or on some romantic adventure. I'm not worried about him, though."
Considering their tight schedule, Brook interjected thoughtfully, "Half a year… That means we can't just wait around. We only have a month left to find him."
Turning to Shakky with an earnest expression, Brook suddenly asked, "Excuse me, may I… see your panties?"
The question shocked everyone.
"WHAT KIND OF QUESTION IS THAT?!!" Nami reacted faster than anyone, her fist landing squarely on Brook's skull.
Surprisingly, Shakky pondered his request, "Panties? Let me think… What am I wearing today?"
Shakky's casual response only added to the chaos. "Shakky! Don't joke about that so openly!!!" Camie quickly intervened.
Meanwhile, Brook lay flattened on the floor, a mix of pain and disappointment on his face, while Sanji and Usopp beside him couldn't hide their own dismay.
Cutting through the commotion, Robin asked the most pressing question, "Excuse me, do you know where Rayleigh is likely to hang out?"
Shakky answered helpfully, "He usually moves between Groves 1 and 29 to avoid the Marines, as he still has a bounty on his head."
Pausing, she added with a note of caution, "But be careful wherever you search. Apart from the Marines and bounty hunters, there are nine others actively looking for you."
