-Somewhere in the East Blue-

Zoro stifled a yawn as he and Kody were assigned to the rudder again. Carina and Luffy sat side by side at the boat's prow, with her imparting her navigational knowledge to him. Luffy was determined to learn everything Carina taught to avoid her wrath. Unfortunately, she had little patience for his antics.

He smirked, remembering Carina's fury upon learning that Luffy lacked a proper ship and crew, despite his claim of becoming the Pirate King. The already cramped boat was further crowded by their treasure bags, leaving just enough space for four. Miraculously, the boat remained afloat.

A news coo descended on the ship with a loud caw. Carina fished out a few coins and deposited them in his bag, she frowned when the bird made no move to give her a newspaper.

"Another increase in price?!"

Carina pinched the bird's beak, depositing another coin inside his bag before snatching the newspaper away.

"You guys are the real thieves here! Hey Luffy!"

Carina shouted, waving the newspaper at him.

"There a new pirate with the highest bounty and an article about him!"

"Really?! Where? Let me see!"

Luffy rushed up to her, looking over her shoulder as she showed him the page.

Hector The Black

200,000,000 Berrie

Dead or Alive

A Whitebeard pirate appears called Hector Barbossa in the East Blue. This wicked Pirate slaughtered the entire 16th Marine Branch and executed the villagers along with a rival pirate group called the Arlong Pirates. He is a cold-blooded killer who doesn't care about anyone's life. Please stay away from this vicious criminal and report him if you see him.

"Damn, why do the hot ones have to be crazy?"

Question Carina as she still tried to teach Luffy how to navigate.

Zoro eyed bounty then checked the last barrel of rations with concern. In their rush to escape the locals, they hadn't managed to secure additional supplies and were left with the meager provisions from the Marine base they had robbed for restocking, which was scant, especially given Luffy's appetite.

-Syrup Village, Three days later-

"At least we only starved for one day this time."

Carina remarked dryly as they pushed the boat up the beach.

"We should've brought more food."

Zoro suggested.

"We packed so much we barely stayed afloat!"

Carina retorted, frustrated.

"We need a ship! A real ship!"

Luffy exclaimed, nonchalantly picking his nose.

"I'm impressed there really was an island here!"

Kody observed.

"You're so directionally challenged; it's a wonder you've survived this long. All you had to do was follow the map"

Carina commented dryly.

"Shishishi! I did end up in that whirlpool on my second day."

Luffy recalled, chuckling.

His crewmates gave him a flat, unimpressed look.

"Why am I not surprised?"

They all thought.

"So, is there a village here?"

Luffy inquired with curiosity.

"There should be. I hope someone here has a ship, though I'm not sure how we would even acquire it. I mean I'm not paying for it."

She stuck her tongue out playfully.

"Careful, someone's here."

Zoro said calmly. Whatever retort Carina was going to throw at him was interrupted.

"Watch out!"

"Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah!"

Luffy started dancing dodging each shot that was fired at him, while Carina hid away behind the boat. The next thing they know suddenly multiple Jolly Rogers started popping out of the bushes.

The next moment, a teenager with a long nose wearing goggles stood on top of a hill shouting.

"Stop! You pirates! This is the stronghold of the great Captain Usopp who has over 80 million followers, ready to protect this island at any cost! They will destroy you! Leave now!"

"That's a bullshit lie!"

Carina shouted now realizing that everything was fake.

"She saw through it!"

Usopp held himself in panic.

"See he said, I saw through it. By the way, what are those guys doing?"

she pointed curiously at the cliffs, where there were four visible heads doing a poor job of staying hidden.

"AHHH! WE'VE BEEN FOUND!"

The three young boys yelled in terror before running away with their arms high in the air.

-With the Black Pearl-

"Those Marine Assholes can go Fuck themselves!"

Nami screamed in anger upon reading the falsehoods in the news article about Hector.

"Damn it, he didn't kill any civilians! He only took down the corrupt Marines and the Arlong Pirates. Just as expected from the Marines, they excel at fabricating stories."

Nojiko observed all this calmly, yet her eyes betrayed a deep-seated hatred and anger. However, she quickly regained her composure and said with a smile,

"Wow, Hector! You've become famous~"

She then threw herself into his arms.

-Syrup Village-

Upon reaching the shores of Syrup Village, Hector's attention was immediately drawn to a small boat. He perused his journal for some time, revisiting his written memories. After a moment, his demeanor turned serious. Nami and Nojiko, noticing the change, suspected something was amiss.

"Is something troubling you?"

He glanced at his two companions, then sighed and reassured them that all was well.

'It seems a plot is unfolding. But no matter! I won't adhere to the canon any longer. Even though Luffy has arrived, it appears the conspiracy hasn't started, and the Black Cat Pirates haven't yet attacked the island, so all is well.'

He mused internally.

The Black Pearl came to rest on the beach, and Hector assigned a pair of Sea Kings to guard it. He allowed the girls and children to explore, protected by Shadow Soldiers lurking in their shadows. In a mischievous act, he had Pearl consume Luffy's boat for materials and discovered a considerable treasure.

"Let's go, Nami, Nojiko. There's a mansion ahead; we'll get there using Moonwalk."

He then ascended into the sky, carrying a large trunk and suitcase with Moonwalk, followed by Nami and Nojiko.

"No matter how many times I do this, Hector, it always feels awesome flying in the sky!"

"It feels amazing; I feel like I'm a bird!"

Both Nami and Nojiko were still amazed, jumping in the air and using Moonwalk to fly. Although it wasn't very high, it still felt great to them.

Soon, they arrived at Kaya's palace, with Nojiko and Nami following behind. Nami was dressed in her purple yukata, and Nojiko in her French soldier uniform, their weapons stored in their inventory.

The two lovers walked behind him, surveying the terrain. The mansion, a grand structure of marble and stone, was adorned with a spacious garden of well-maintained bushes.

Syrup Village was a typically quiet community, encircled by grasslands, dirt paths, hills, and forests. Most villagers lived in simple homes, but Kaya's mansion stood out.

Bam!

The first thing they witnessed was a remarkable scene.

The man! The legend! The young man with a long nose, and long D-... I mean feet. Yes, his FEET! Usopp had just punched a man in black servant attire and glasses. Luffy, Zoro, Carina, and, to his surprise, Koby, watched the scene, stunned, especially Luffy.

While Kaya, shocked, tried to calm the situation, her sickness was evident; her skin so pale she could only watch Usopp slap her servant from the window.

"Tch, as expected of a pirate's son, violence is always your first resort."

Klahadore remarked coldly, ignoring Usopp.

"Don't talk about my dad like that! He's a great pirate! A brave sea warrior!"

Usopp retorted, tears forming as he turned and ran.

"No, Usopp-kun!"

Kaya cried out in terror, fearing Usopp would resent her servant and never return.

"Hehehe, what a fun drama~, I should've brought popcorn!"

Nami's mocking voice echoed, prompting everyone to turn and see a man soaring through the air, with two girls also in sight.

Everyone shared the same question, but Kuro, now known as Klahadoll, stared at Hector in disbelief and astonishment. He recognized him from the newspapers – Hector the Black, a pirate of Whitebeard's crew with a bounty of 200,000,000 Berries! What was such a notorious pirate doing in the East Blue?

Kaya, who made it a habit to read the news every morning, recognized him instantly. A wave of fear washed over her, knowing Hector's reputation as a mass murderer.

Zoro, Carina, and Koby gazed at Hector as though they were looking at the devil himself. They had known who he was from the moment they laid eyes on him. Hector the Black, the pirate with the highest bounty in the East Blue, was a figure that anyone would naturally recognize.

Zoro's hand was already on the hilt of his sword, poised to strike should the others make any sudden moves.

"What? What's happening?"

Luffy's innate cluelessness pierced through the tension.
