Chapter 13: The Invisible Bond
Yuna took a deep breath as she continued stacking the glasses behind the counter. No matter what she did, the uneasiness in her chest wouldn't go away.
Hwan's words echoed in her mind: "I saw the way Nova's Eunwoo looked at you."
Ridiculous! she thought. He's just an idol. And who am I?
Just as she was trying to shake off the thought, the café door opened. The moment she saw who walked in, she froze.
Eunwoo.
Nova had already left under tight security. So why had he come back?
Eunwoo walked straight to the counter and met Yuna's gaze with a small smile.
"I forgot my wallet on the table," he said calmly.
Yuna blinked, quickly searching her memory. She vaguely recalled seeing a wallet when she was cleaning the tables earlier.
"I'll get it right away," she said, turning swiftly toward the seating area.
But in her rush, she stepped onto a wet spot on the floor.
Her foot slipped.
And just as she was about to hit the ground, a strong hand grabbed her wrist.
In an instant, she found herself in Eunwoo's arms.
Time seemed to stop.
Their faces were so close. Close enough for Yuna to feel his breath on her skin.
Her heart pounded wildly.
Eunwoo held her tightly, his golden eyes locked onto hers.
Yuna felt herself getting lost in his gaze.
But suddenly, the café door swung open again, and a voice called out from outside.
"Eunwoo, we're waiting for you!"
Eunwoo flinched slightly before slowly letting go of Yuna.
Yuna quickly stepped back, trying to calm the storm inside her chest. "I'll get your wallet."
She reached for the table, grabbed the wallet with slightly trembling hands, and handed it to him.
Eunwoo took it in silence, his gaze lingering on her for just a moment longer.
But in his eyes, a storm was already brewing.
