Chapter 28
A long-awaited collaboration session with the Celestial Realm Project members finally began.
“Whoa, it’s been so long since we did a collab like this, right?”
Anna naturally took the lead in hosting the broadcast, being the most popular and older member, effectively acting as the leader of the first generation of the Celestial Realm Project.
“Yeah, that’s true. Everyone’s been so busy, we haven’t had the time to collab!”
“Ah, right! Haven’t you been super busy lately?”
Mile and Haru chimed in to continue Anna’s sentiment. After that, one by one, the members started opening up about their hectic schedules.
“Definitely. It’s just so busy.”
“Right, I can barely sleep! Reviewing edited videos, preparing for broadcasts, and working on cover tracks…”
Even as Loa and Maho joined in on the conversation, I simply kept quiet and nodded along.
Well… I’m not busy.
What could I possibly be occupied with? Until recently, I’d spent some time drawing for the Bluebird project, but now that’s done, the only thing I do aside from streaming is practice at the Vocal Academy.
As I silently nodded, the chat suddenly stirred.
– Why aren’t you joining the conversation?
– Totally being left out! T_T
– Look at her just nodding away!
– Is she planning to mooch off this stream?
Whether worried or annoyed, the chat didn’t lean one way or the other. Just as I was chuckling at it, a donation alert rang out.
“[Username], thank you for the donation of 1,000 won! Can Miro give us a sneak peek of what cover track she’s doing?”
“Oh, me? I’m not doing any cover tracks, actually.”
– ???
– Why not?
– You really should do one!
– You say you’re busy, but you’re not even doing a cover?
“Me? Busy? I’m not busy at all!”
– ??
– Don’t you do anything?
– Get a bit busier, will ya?
“[Isn’t Miro busy?]”
At that moment, as I spoke to the chat, the members started addressing me one by one.
“Can’t believe you’re always organizing League of Legends parties in the group chat!”
“Miro definitely seems like she gets things done quickly.”
“Right? It feels like she finishes things up and gets on with it!”
But strangely enough, the public opinion was shifting.
Am I efficient?
No, I literally have nothing to do.
I mean, I stream for just two hours a day and there hasn’t been any meetings related to broadcasts lately…
The editing for the videos uploaded to YouTube is handled by the company, and the editor surely isn’t slacking off, right? I don’t even review them.
Honestly, it’s a bit embarrassing to watch my own videos.
– Haha, true! 😂
– Miro’s doing her work!
– No wonder her League of Legends level hasn’t gone up; the members didn’t help her out! ;;
Still, hearing praises from the chat after such a long time made me want to keep this façade going.
“Well, honestly, why not just finish everything quickly and then have fun? If the other members had put in some effort, they could’ve hit level 30 and recorded some placement content ages ago…”
“Uh, are you serious?”
“Shielding you, and now you’re shielding back?”
– For real…
– Ungrateful brat…
“Can we just do one thing and not change the topic?”
Why is it going back and forth like this?
***
Gartic Phone.
In the first turn, a participant writes a situation, the next person draws based on that, and then the next person writes what they think the drawing is, and so on until the last person. It’s a simple cooperative game where if the first written situation and the last drawing match, you win.
Since we’re six people, six games happen simultaneously.
After all the games are done, we see the six results at once.
“Hey, what if they write something weird?”
Just before we started, Anna expressed her concern.
“Come on, don’t worry! Everybody will write something safe.”
To begin with, the Celestial Realm Project members’ broadcasts aren’t particularly risqué. Plus, since they’re all newcomers in a way, would they really write something controversial?
“Miro… actually, I said that for your sake…”
“What? Why?”
[….]
– Everyone knows except for you?
– The scary part is she really doesn’t know, haha;;
“Ahahaha… but didn’t you say Miro draws well? Like during the collab with the Log project?”
“Oh, you remember that?”
“Yeah, you mentioned you tried drawing fan art of the mainstream seniors then.”
“Of course, I draw it like a person would.”
– That’s true.
– Wait, Miro can draw too?
– So unexpectedly talented.;
“I guess I’ll look forward to it then; let’s start the game!”
With Anna’s words wrapped up, we ended small talk and officially began the game.
We had to exit the voice channel because we weren’t allowed to communicate until the results were revealed.
“What should I write?”
It was right after we had started, and I needed to write a situation. Since the other members were going to continue the scenario, I wanted to write something easy and safe.
– Let’s stir things up, yeah!
– Let’s write something weird!
– Can’t wait to see!
– Time to flip the script? Haha!
As expected, the viewers wanted the next member to be in a dilemma, but I just wrote something safe.
“This should work.”
– Why even ask?
– Ugh, Miro, come on!
– Seriously.
– All sense of adventure is dead. 😂
Well, the audience might be complaining, but it’s just the chat, after all.
If someone writes something totally bizarre in the first game, the atmosphere would turn sour.
So I wrote down the situation, and this time, I got a situation written by another member.
“[Group photo of the Celestial Realm Project]”
“Ugh… it’s kind of a tricky prompt.”
– Isn’t it simple enough?
– That sounds okay.
“I have to draw all six of us, though…”
The time limit for Gartic Phone is surprisingly short.
Of course, I could totally whip up a cute drawing of six characters in my style, but that would mean it wouldn’t have a distinctive look, right?
Especially since my visibility soared after getting retweeted by that famed artist.
If I drew something similar now, the attention would just skyrocket for no reason.
So…
“Hmm… I think this will do?”
Hahahaha!
– You said you could draw like a person!
– Seriously, this is bad!
– Are you messing around?
– Gartic Phone is where the fun truly lies!
“This is the best I can do in this short amount of time.”
I watched the drawing I made.
To say I used a high-end drawing tablet, the result was indeed a sight to behold.
All I did was sketch a stick figure and quickly add each member’s distinct traits.
Still, since I drew it as a group photo, they would hopefully understand it, right?
With such a prayer in mind, I awaited the next drawing.
Honestly, I didn’t have high expectations for the members’ drawings.
They’re all busy living their lives, so how well could they possibly draw?
“Still, they should be somewhat similar to mine, right?”
So I tossed that out to the viewers…
“Uh…”
– That’s actually cute!
– ???: We’re all similar!
– Whoa!
– Similar? Yeah right, lmao!
The next drawing was surprisingly well-done—definitely not professional but for the limited time, it was impressive enough if someone was hobbyist!
“Wow, this is well-drawn, but what is it?”
– It really is well drawn, YAS!
– Is it dancing?
“I feel like the detail in the description is a bit lacking.”
“[Username], thank you for the donation of 1,000 won! How can Miro critique someone else’s drawing when she draws like this?”
I couldn’t exactly say angsty things back, right?
At that moment, a rather sharp donation message flew in.
Saying I draw poorly? Let’s see if that holds up until the end of this Gartic Phone!
Thus, I focused intently on the picture.
If I couldn’t draw in my style, could I imitate the other person’s style instead?
I quickly zeroed in on the cute aspects of the stubby drawing, analyzing the focus points as the brief limited time whipped by so fast.
– Isn’t it time to draw something?
– Why aren’t you drawing though?
– Just scribble something!
“Uh, just a moment…”
I had spent so much time examining the drawing that I barely had time left to write what their action was.
With less than five seconds left, I quickly figured out what it was and started typing but…
[Time’s up! Moving on to the next sentence!]
In my rush to type, I made a typo, and I didn’t even finish it.
“Um… so what’s the next situation?”
– Ah, haha!
– You’re totally trolling!
– What now??
– Seriously, Miro!
“This time it’s me, right?”
The next situation was ‘Miro doing a handstand.’
I didn’t know what the original situation was, but this one was easy to draw.
– You got this!
– How’s the host going to draw that?
– Actually, it might be easier to express it in Miro’s style!
“Well, it’s easier than before, at least.”
I said, moving my pen right away.
With no time for sketches, I started with the hands touching the ground first.
Drawing a round and chubby Miro in an SD-style, with her cute and stout self, I made sure to include the shivering arms as she balanced on her hands, adding in the hair cascading down.
As time ticked down, I finished the drawing.
I looked at the drawing while awaiting the next illustration, taking a moment.
I hadn’t checked the chat while focused on my drawing.
– ???
– What’s happening here?
– Wait, was that really Miro’s drawing just now?
– Did you just trace that?
– What the heck?
As expected, the chat was filled with surprise.
Naturally, they should be shocked; the style they just saw was quite similar to what I had previously observed.
Feeling proud at the chat flying past with excitement, I remarked,
“From now on, call me Copy Ninja Miro!”
Literal perfection.
Next up is the Copy Ninja!
