Not So Friendly Anymore

Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Healing, Comforting, and Confessing

Peter stood over what was left of Osborn, his breath shuddering with the weight of everything he'd done. The adrenaline that had fueled him in those final moments drained away, leaving only a hollow sense of satisfaction mixed with a creeping horror. Osborn was dead, truly gone. And for the briefest moment, Peter allowed himself to feel relief.

But then, the pain began to surge, brutal and all-consuming, ripping him from the quiet of his victory. He looked down, finally aware of the crimson soaking through his torn suit, the deep wounds that sliced across his body. The room spun, colors blurring together as the symbiote tried to heal him, struggling against the extent of his injuries.

Peter's knees buckled, and the world tilted sideways. He felt himself hitting the cold floor, vision dimming, the sounds around him fading to silence as everything went dark.

Minutes later, the hum of engines broke the silence as a jet craft descended onto the rooftop. The Wild Pack, led by Silver Sable, disembarked swiftly, their mission clear. Sable's arm was wrapped in a cast, her injury freshly tended to but leaving her in obvious pain. Yet she moved with purpose, her eyes never leaving Peter's prone form.

"Get him stabilized," she commanded, ignoring her own discomfort as one of her team members helped her down from the craft. They carefully lifted Peter onto a stretcher, the team's movements precise as they worked to stop the bleeding and assess his injuries. Sable winced as her arm throbbed, but her focus never wavered. Her good hand rested on Peter's shoulder as they carried him back to the jet, her eyes hard with resolve.

Once onboard, they directed the craft toward one of her safe houses, a place she knew he would consider safe. As they arrived, medics and personnel rushed forward, and Sable moved aside to let them work. The Wild Pack carefully removed Peter from the jet, and she took a moment to breathe, her casted arm a reminder of the fight they'd survived.

Days blurred together as Peter lingered between life and death, his recovery slow and fraught. Sable checked in often, watching him through the glass as he lay unconscious, a shadow of the man he had been. She kept her feelings locked away, appearing stoic and focused, but there was an unmistakable tightness in her expression.

Finally, after days that seemed to stretch on endlessly, Peter's eyes fluttered open.

---

As Peter's eyes fluttered open, the sterile light above him softened into focus, illuminating a room that felt both foreign and secure. He groaned softly, taking in the aches that still lingered throughout his body. His healing factor had worked overtime, but the injuries were extensive, and he was still weak. The faint sound of footsteps drew his attention, and he looked up to see Sable standing at the door, her casted arm held carefully against her side.

"You're awake," she murmured, a mixture of relief and guarded emotion in her eyes as she stepped closer.

Peter managed a slight nod. "Barely," he replied, voice rough. He held her gaze, the weight of recent events crashing back down on him. "Osborn is gone."

Sable nodded slowly, her expression unreadable. "Yes. And you did what needed to be done."

Peter looked down, conflicted. "But did I? The way I killed him... part of me feels like I'm becoming no better than him. I don't know if this is what Uncle Ben would have wanted." He clenched his fists weakly. "I can't help but feel that I'm crossing a line, that I'm losing parts of myself I'll never get back."

Sable moved closer, her hand reaching to rest on his. "Listen to me, Peter. Sometimes, standing up for yourself, making choices that may haunt you, is what you have to do. You did what others couldn't, what had to be done to protect the people you care about. That doesn't make you like him." Her eyes softened, a warmth he rarely saw there. "It makes you human."

Peter absorbed her words in silence, and after a moment, he looked up at her, something else weighing on his mind. "Sable, I've been wondered...where were you during the whole "Superior Spider-Man"ordeal?" He paused, feeling the vulnerability of the question. "I needed you then, and I never knew why you weren't there."

Sable's expression fell, and her eyes glistened with unshed tears. She took a shaky breath, then spoke, her voice barely above a whisper. "I was...in Symkaria. There was an invasion. I fought as hard as I could, but...I was gravely wounded. They had to place me in a medically induced coma to heal, keep me in a pod for weeks." She looked away, her voice thick with guilt. "I would have been there if I could, Peter. I swear I would have been. I... I just couldn't." A tear slipped down her cheek as she whispered, "Please forgive me."

Peter lifted his hand, placing it gently against her cheek, and leaned up to press his lips to hers. Sable stilled for a moment, surprised, before her hand found his face, and she leaned into the kiss, her worries melting away. When they finally parted, Peter looked at her with a soft expression.

"There's nothing to forgive, Sable," he murmured. "You were doing what you had to do, protecting your home. I'm just glad to have you back, and... I'm grateful to have someone like you in my life."

Sable's gaze softened, and she leaned in once more, capturing his lips in a deeper kiss. When she pulled away, her voice trembled with restrained emotion. "You may forgive me, but I can't forgive myself." She bit her lip, hesitating before speaking again. "If you mean it... take me. Let me be yours, as penance."

Peter's breath caught as her request sank in, his eyes widening. Gently, he reached for her, his fingers brushing along her cheek. "Sable," he murmured, his voice low, "you don't have to do this."

She looked down at him, eyes fierce and unwavering, her casted arm resting carefully against her side. "I know," she replied softly, a small, determined smile playing on her lips. "I want to."

He hesitated a moment longer, searching her expression, and then nodded, letting her guide herself over him. She moved with careful determination, straddling him as she settled her weight slowly onto his lap. Her good hand reached out to steady herself against his chest, while her other arm remained close to her body, the cast a reminder of everything they'd both been through. Peter placed his hands on her hips, his touch gentle but firm, supporting her as she began to move.

Peter's hands held Sable's hips as she began to move, her body syncing with his as a slow, electric tension built between them. Her breaths turned shallow, her eyes focused intently on him, each touch and movement laced with purpose. She moved with a gentle but undeniable rhythm, every subtle shift drawing them closer together, a shared intensity building between them.

Peter's fingers tightened on her waist as he let out a soft, deep grunt, the sound vibrating through his chest. His gaze stayed locked on her, captivated by the flush spreading across her cheeks, the way her eyes gleamed with raw emotion. He guided her movements, matching her pace, his own breaths coming faster with each shift of her body.

As they moved together, Sable's hand tightened against his chest, her casted arm bracing her as she leaned into each motion. Her breaths turned into soft, broken moans, her control slipping with every passing second. Peter pulled her down, his lips finding hers in a kiss that was deep and desperate, swallowing her gasps as their bodies moved in sync. His fingers brushed against her back, drawing her closer, grounding her even as they lost themselves in each other.

The pressure between them continued to mount, and Sable's eyes fluttered closed, her head tilting back as her movements grew more urgent, a primal need in her every motion. She let out a shuddering gasp, her breaths turning ragged, and Peter moaned low in his throat, his hand tangling in her hair as he pulled her down for another fierce, searing kiss.

As Sable separated from the kiss her body trembled with rising intensity, her breaths came faster, her voice turning to soft, desperate moans. Peter held her close, his own breath hitching as they moved together, each moment building on the last. With one last, powerful surge, she threw her head back, her eyes rolling into the back of her skull as she let out a cry that echoed through the room.

"I LOVE YOU PETER!" she screamed, her voice filled with unguarded, raw emotion as her body convulsed in release. Her cry rang out, a confession ripped from the depths of her soul, shaking them both as the waves of her climax rolled over her. Peter's own breaths turned to deep, guttural moans, and he pulled her down, capturing her lips in a fierce, consuming kiss as he held her through every shiver and gasp.

When the intensity finally subsided, she slumped against him, her body still trembling in his arms. Peter stroked her back, grounding her as they shared the silence, her head resting against his chest as her breaths slowly steadied. They lay there together, hearts beating as one, savoring the warmth and closeness between them.

---

Afterward, they lay together, limbs intertwined, the silence comfortable and peaceful. Peter brushed a hand along her cheek, the vulnerability in his eyes meeting the sincerity in hers. "Did you mean it? Those words?"

Sable smiled, her fingers tracing patterns along his chest. "I do. I've kept that close for a long time, Peter."

Peter took a deep breath. "I've been hurt before, Sable. My past relationships...they've left a bad taste. But if you're willing to wait, once I'm healed...maybe we could start with dinner?"

Sable's eyes brightened with a genuine smile, and she nodded. "I'd love that, Peter."

They settled into the warmth of each other's arms, both of them allowing themselves a moment of peace. Together, they drifted into sleep, the promise of something new lingering between them.
