Chapter 13
Chapter 13: Slaughter Greetings from RPG
Zhao Renzhou’s lips curled up into a chilling smile. He was contemplating which one of them to target.
But these bunch of fools, they actually walked right into his trap and offered themselves up for slaughter.
Whoever said there were too many bad guys in northern Myanmar?
Afraid that if I went there, I’d waste my time hunting them down. They’re bringing themselves to me for execution… What a stroke of luck.
The town of Jiawei.
Zhao Renzhou’s base.
It stood at the rear of Jiawei, with no signs of human activity within two kilometers. Only tall walls and watchtowers were visible. Inside, there were numerous ramshackle houses, a few large warehouses, and some training areas.
Outside the base, there were four decrepit vans parked, while inside the vast canopy tent, Suo and a group of thirty to forty people sat. Leading them was Suo, a sturdy middle-aged man.
His sun-darkened skin bore numerous scars, giving him the appearance of an incredibly tenacious individual.
The rest of the people with him were equally rugged and tough, exuding a cold and ruthless aura. Each of them held a weapon in hand as they observed Zhao Renzhou’s base.
Zhao Bao, at a distance, was on the phone, nodding occasionally. Suo’s subordinates spoke in hushed tones.
“Big Brother,” one of them whispered, “It looks like this Chen Jinlong really got taken out. Everyone has switched over to Zhao Renzhou now, and Zhao Bao is in charge.”
They were all neighbors, and they knew who had what influence and who had formidable underlings. This base was originally managed by Chen Jinlong, but now it belonged to Zhao Bao. The news they had received a couple of days ago must be true; Chen Jinlong had been betrayed and eliminated by Zhao Renzhou.
Suo nodded in agreement, not saying a word. His sharp eyes were deep in thought, considering whether this was an opportunity to expand their territory and gain more power.
However, they had to complete this deal first, as Taizhai needed a few more people.
For a sum of three million, Suo had no choice but to personally intervene in this matter. That’s why he had brought these people along, to ensure that nothing would go wrong.
He believed that with his reputation, Zhao Renzhou should be willing to cooperate. Otherwise, if things escalated, with so many people on his side, Zhao Renzhou wouldn’t gain any advantage either.
At that moment, Zhao Bao finished his call and approached Suo.
“Mr. Suo,” he said, “My big brother will be back shortly. Please wait a moment.
The place where Taizhai’s people are being held is a secret dungeon, so we need my big brother’s key.
Also, my big brother wants to discuss something with you about the cooperative development between Jiawei and Naiga towns. What do you think?”
Suo’s face lit up with a smile. “No problem,” he replied, “As long as you hand over the people, we can talk about anything. I’m also curious to see how things will change in Jiawei now that it has a new leader. I’m looking forward to our cooperation.”
Zhao Bao nodded and said,
“That’s good then. I’ll go prepare some fruit.” He then instructed someone to go to the town to buy watermelons while he led others to get ice water. He didn’t seem to mind having so many people in their headquarters.
This made Suo and his group lower their guard slightly. Before long, the person who had gone to buy watermelons returned.
Zhao Bao had them soak about a dozen watermelons in ice water for over ten minutes, then had them sliced. He brought the watermelons over.
“Come, come, have some watermelon,” Zhao Bao said. “My big brother will be back soon. I’ll go meet him at the gate.”
Suo nodded and didn’t hesitate. He waved his hand, and the people below started eating the watermelon in batches. He, however, did not partake.
Outside the base, Zhao Renzhou peered through the crack in the gate and saw the scene inside. He chuckled, “This old guy is quite cautious, isn’t he?
He doesn’t eat himself; instead, he has his men eat in batches. Those who have reached this stage aren’t to be underestimated, not a single one of them.”
Unfortunately, no matter how bright the light, it couldn’t withstand a rocket launcher.
Ten rounds of anti-armor high-explosive shells were enough to take down three or four dozen people, especially when they were gathered closely together.
It was like using a cannon to swat a mosquito; even a near miss would be fatal.
Without turning his head, Zhao Renzhou calmly said, “Give me one.”
Immediately behind him, someone handed over an RPG-7 rocket launcher, already loaded. He dropped his cigar on the ground.
“Take aim,” Zhao Renzhou ordered.
The other nine RPG-7 rocket launchers also aimed in the direction of Suo and his group. Zhao Bao took cautious steps forward until he reached the gate, gripping the handle. Zhao Renzhou, with the rocket launcher on his shoulder, nodded.
Zhao Bao unlocked the gate, and along with the others outside, they pulled it aside quickly. This revealed Zhao Renzhou and his group.
Zhao Renzhou squeezed the trigger of the RPG, and the anti-armor high-explosive shell streaked through the air, emitting a sharp whistling sound.
Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh—
Ten anti-armor high-explosive rounds, racing against each other.
They were fired towards Suh and his group.
No time to react?!
A distance of two hundred meters, passed in an instant!!
Suh and his companions only managed to raise their heads.
Their horrified gaze was unbelieving.
With mouths still open, they were struck through the chest by the anti-armor high-explosive rounds.
Their entire bodies were instantly torn apart by the explosion.
Limb fragments scattered.
In Suh’s final fleeting impression of life.
It was Zhao Renzhou.
Then came the sadistic shout:
“RPG!!!”
Boom, boom, boom—
An explosive mushroom cloud ascended.
Ten anti-armor high-explosive rounds.
Successively piercing the massive shade canopy.
Blinding flames erupted, accompanied by searing heat.
Carried along was the scent of burning flesh.
The substantial frame of the shade canopy.
Visibly melted at the exceedingly high temperature.
And then it collapsed!
The thirty or forty armed individuals assembled there.
They didn’t even have time to grab their guns.
They were entombed within the flames.
Buried beneath the fallen shade canopy.
Reduced to charred remains…
