Chapter 2: Ninja Academy
Kira Aburame.
Yes, that was the name that he was given by his clan head. With his father who died in a mission 5 months prior to his birth and his non-ninja mother who died while giving birth to him, there was no one else who could give him a name other than the clan head.
He had no direct relatives, but he didn't mind it since the people in the clan pretty much ignored his existence. After all, getting ignored was way better than getting bullied.
Kira took a deep breath and got off his bed before standing in front of the mirror in his room.
A small boy with medium length hair, a cute face, black eyes and an under developed body stared back at him.
He smiled ruefully as he shook his head. Such was the fate of someone with F rank physique, but he didn't care too much about it. With a simple thought, a screen appeared in front of him.
Unused Character Points: 5
He gained one point every time he aged until he turned 20. That was one of the settings for the game, but there were other methods too. It was just that they could only be used once he started attending the ninja academy.
Of course, there was a way for increasing his physique quality before attending the academy. With a lot of expectation in his eyes, he took a few steps back and began doing push ups.
After hitting 44 push ups, he did 126 squats and multiple other workouts before going out for a run. It was still extremely early, so the sun wasn't up. A few of the Aburame clan members noticed him, but didn't bother as they were used to his training methods since the past year.
Thirty minutes later, Kira lied down on the floor, panting as he looked at the screen in front of him.
[Due to your diligent training, your Physique Quality has been upgraded to E-Grade.]
With a wide smile on his face, he got up and headed back to his small house. He took off his clothes, headed to take a bath and then, got ready to go to the academy as today was the first day.
It was still early, but he couldn't wait.
"Damn, I woke up too early and now I don't know what to do!" he said, clearly frustrated as he sat down on the floor. He closed his eyes and used his meagre amount of chakra to check the inside of his body.
There weren't many, but there were still quite a good amount of bugs inside. They weren't anything special and were the regular kikaichu that the Aburame clan used, but Kira didn't like the concept of having bugs inside his body.
Even so, he could tolerate it as long as there weren't too many inside. He had grand plans for his bugs in the future and one of them was to use his private dimension for storage instead of his body.
'Yes, keep the numbers as they are for now. Once I make the preparations, I'll start by testing my theories.' he thought and received a response from his kikaichu.
They couldn't exactly talk, but he could share their feelings.
'You guys sure are excited huh...'
It didn't take too long for the sun to come up and once it did, Kira ran over to the clan head's house.
"Grandpa Kakeru! I'm hungryyy!" he cried out as he ran to the kitchen and saw the clan head dancing as he rotated the chopsticks expertly around with fingers.
"Kira, you're here. Looks like you're pretty excited to go to the academy." he said with a smile on his face.
Kira nodded, acting his part as a kid. He climbed onto the chair and stood on top as he pointed to the ceiling, "I'll show off my kikaichu and make them jealous of my coolness!"
Seeing the kid so excited about his bugs, he couldn't help but smile wryly. After all, once upon a time, even he was like Kira. Unfortunately, reality hit him hard as most people didn't really like bugs.
They simply called him gross and ran away. He smiled as he thought back to his childhood, but still had some optimism.
'Well, we Aburame have made a name for ourselves now, so I don't think the other kids would isolate him as much as they isolated me. Even in the worst case scenario, after graduation and some training, he can easily join the Anbu.' he thought as he filled up a bowl with hot rice and placed it on the table for Kira.
One by one, multiple dished appeared on the table and soon enough, the omelette that he was making a few seconds ago, was also ready.
But even though it was ready, Kakeru didn't serve it directly. He took a knife and cut off some parts of the omelette before placing it on the table with an expectant smile on his face.
And just as he had expected, Kira's face lit up as he looked at the oversized shuriken shaped omelette.
"Whoa! A shuriken!"
"Yes, you're now a student in the academy, but a ninja nonetheless. Shurikens are an essential part of a ninja's life."
Kira pouted as he tore off a part of the omelette and put it in his mouth.
"But my bugs are waaaaay better." he said, even though he didn't like the bugs, it didn't change the fact that they were extremely useful.
"This kid..." Kakeru muttered as he shook his head with a slight smile on his face. He watched Kira eat his breakfast and walked him to the academy.
Kira ran over and joined the other kids while Kakeru stood a few meters away with the other guardians. This was their kids' first day at the academy, so most wouldn't miss it and for Kakeru who considered Kira as he own grandchild, wouldn't miss it either.
