Chapter 233: Chapter 233: I Want to Do It with the Commander
Dorothy's words made Mo Chen stop mid-sentence.
"What did you say?"
"Neutralizer."
Dorothy repeated, her delicate face carrying a playful smile, as if she were hiding some amusement. "I've heard that the Commander has been looking for a way to manufacture a neutralizer. Am I right?"
Mo Chen's eyes narrowed slightly, his expression turning serious.
The existence of the neutralizer was only known to the high ranks of the Ark, and his search for it was even more confidential, only known to a select few. Yet Dorothy, who wasn't even in the Ark, somehow knew about it.
He had originally planned to ask how she knew, but he didn't bother. He knew that even if he asked, she wouldn't answer, so he simply admitted it.
"That's right."
"If you want clues about the neutralizer, Eden might be able to provide the answers you're looking for."
Dorothy's gaze was calm, as if she could see through Mo Chen's thoughts. She stepped closer to him, her posture relaxed as if she had already secured the outcome.
This was an offer Mo Chen couldn't easily refuse.
After thinking for a moment, he spoke.
"Fine, but before that, I have other matters to take care of."
Dorothy didn't seem to mind. She smiled gracefully. "No problem, I can wait."
Without hesitation, she walked off to the side and stood patiently, as if she truly intended to wait.
Mo Chen hadn't expected Dorothy to be so patient, but since she said so, he saw no reason to argue and simply nodded.
He lifted his gaze to the horizon. A faint glow of white spread across the sky—dawn had arrived before he knew it.
It was about time.
Mo Chen pressed a button on his wristwatch, activating his communicator to contact Shifty.
"Beep—beep—beep—!"
There was no response for a long while.
Mo Chen frowned.
That girl… Why wasn't she answering?
Did something happen in the Ark again?
The memory of the recent Ark riots was still fresh in his mind. Even though there was no longer a threat of Raptures, there was always the possibility that Heavenly Ascension's terrorists were stirring up trouble.
Just as he was about to assume something had happened, the communicator finally connected. On the other end, Shifty's sleepy voice came through, accompanied by a lazy yawn.
"Commander… let me sleep a little longer… just a little bit more…"
Mo Chen was speechless.
Hearing her voice, he could already picture Shifty slumped over a desk, half-asleep.
"Wake up, or you'll turn into a lazy pig. Get me in touch with the Counters and Absolute units."
After some grumbling and mumbling on the other end, Shifty finally responded.
"Hmph, Commander, you're the lazy pig, not me."
Even though she was clearly unwilling, she still relayed the message to the Nikke units. Not long after, she reported back.
"Mission accomplished."
"What about casualties? Any losses?"
"Ah, no… according to the report, none. Only minor injuries, damage rate below 5%. They can handle it themselves."
Hearing that none of the deployed Nikkes had been seriously harmed, Mo Chen felt a slight sense of relief.
He had confidence in the Counters and Absolute, but the surface was unpredictable—anything could happen. There was no guarantee that unexpected dangers wouldn't arise.
Meanwhile, Dorothy, though maintaining a composed expression, had perked up her delicate ears to listen in on the conversation. When she heard that Mo Chen's first concern was the Nikkes, a flicker of something unreadable flashed through her eyes.
An hour later—
The Counters and Absolute units began returning one after another.
Not only did they return, but they also brought back members of the Cafe Sweety Squad and the Matis Squad. They were all restrained with suppressor rounds and tied up tightly, like wrapped rice dumplings, to prevent them from suddenly going berserk due to viral infection.
"Commander, Commander—!"
Anis ran over cheerfully, with Neon following close behind. She stood in front of Mo Chen, proudly boasting about her achievement.
"Impressive, right? We caught all of them, hehe!"
"Very impressive."
Mo Chen gave Anis a thumbs-up.
She really had improved a lot.
Anis leaned in close to Mo Chen, sneakily extending her hand.
"Then what's my reward, Commander?"
Mo Chen sighed helplessly. Why was she acting like a child?
"What do you want?"
Anis leaned in even closer, gesturing for Mo Chen to come down. When he bent slightly, she whispered into his ear in a teasing and sultry tone, "I want to do it with the Commander."
Mo Chen froze.
"Huh?"
Anis put her hands behind her back, straightened her posture, and leaned forward slightly, playfully winking at Mo Chen.
"I want it too!"
Just then, Neon ran over.
"Want what, uh?!"
Anis pushed Neon aside. "Adults are talking. Little kids shouldn't interrupt."
"No, I'm going to interrupt! Why do you get it and I don't?"
"Do you even know what I'm asking for?"
"Nope."
"Then why do you want it?"
"I don't care, I just want it!"
At that moment, Rapi rushed over from a distance. When she saw that Mo Chen was unharmed, she finally let out a breath of relief, slowed her pace, and quickly walked up to him.
Mo Chen noticed her arrival and stepped forward to meet her.
"How is it?"
Rapi replied, "The Matis Squad and the Cafe Sweety Squad have both been infected by the virus. They are currently under control and need to be transported back to the Ark as soon as possible."
Mo Chen said, "That's not what I was asking."
Rapi: "…?"
Mo Chen took Rapi's hand.
"I was asking about you. Are you hurt?"
Rapi felt warmth spread in her heart, and under so many watchful eyes, she couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed. She tried to pull her hand away, but Mo Chen held on too tightly. After a few tries without success, her ears turned slightly red.
"No, I'm fine. The mission went smoothly."
"As long as it went well." Mo Chen reached out and buttoned up the part of her uniform that had come undone, adjusting her collar slightly. "Remember, no matter what happens, take care of yourself first."
"Commander… got it."
Rapi wanted to remind him that others were watching, but in the end, she didn't say it.
However, while Mo Chen was good at undoing buttons, fastening them wasn't his strong suit. The reason was simple—Rapi might not seem very busty at first glance, but in reality, she was quite well-endowed. The buttons were tight, and in the end, Rapi had to fasten them herself.
In that brief moment, Mo Chen unintentionally caught a glimpse of Rapi's lingerie—it was lace-trimmed, with a few sheer sections. The fabric was thin and looked incredibly soft, and her fair skin was so smooth and pale that for a moment, it was hard to tell where the lace ended and her skin began.
He never expected Rapi to be this bold!
