Chapter 186: Chapter 186: I Want to Be the Commander's Wife
Anis and Neon simultaneously shot wary glances at D.
"Why is she out here?"
But before they could react further, D did something that left everyone stunned.
She wrapped her arms around Mo Chen's, as naturally as if she were his newlywed bride, her eyes brimming with affection. With a slightly surprised tone, she asked, "Honey, who are they? Your colleagues?"
Everyone froze.
Anis turned her head, dug her finger into her ear, and asked Neon in disbelief, "Neon, is there something wrong with my ears? Am I hallucinating? Did some random woman just shamelessly call the Commander Honey?"
Neon nodded, her face equally serious.
"Yeah, I think you're right. But maybe it's not our problem."
Both Anis and Neon turned to stare at Mo Chen.
"Commander, don't tell me you actually fell for her seduction?"
"We're doomed. Our Commander's been deceived by a wicked woman."
"Master, did she PUA you or something?"
"Should we just shoot this evil woman full of holes?"
Seeing how far off the rails Anis and Neon were going, Mo Chen quickly stepped in to stop them.
"Alright, alright, calm down. You guys don't know anything, so stop spouting nonsense. It's not what you think. Can't you be more like Rapi?"
Rapi flinched slightly, hurriedly tried to hide her rifle behind her back, and put on a serious face, her cheeks faintly blushing.
"Apologies, Commander. We didn't realize we were crossing the line."
"It's not a joke, though," D chimed in, tightening her grip on Mo Chen's arm, her face radiating bliss as she nestled closer. "The Commander and I have decided to get married in a week. That means I'm his fiancée now."
Rapi almost pulled out her gun on the spot, her finger twitching near the trigger. Mo Chen quickly reached out to stop her.
"Don't listen to her. That's not true."
D looked at Mo Chen with feigned surprise.
"Honey, why are you hiding it from them? Didn't we already agree on this? Why won't you admit it? Or… have you been cheating on me behind my back?"
Mo Chen was at a complete loss for words, unsure how to even begin explaining.
His mind flashed back to the conversation he'd had with D earlier in the hotel room, just thirty minutes ago.
Back then, as they talked privately, D had leaned in with a curious glint in her crimson eyes.
"How did you find me out?"
D seemed genuinely intrigued, unable to comprehend how she'd been discovered. From her perspective, her performance had been flawless, every detail meticulously covered. What baffled her even more was how it wasn't Mo Chen or anyone else who'd seen through her—
It was Marian.
Mo Chen recalled what Marian had said earlier and made a joke: "It's because you don't like me. If you liked me, you wouldn't have been found out."
He was just joking, but to his surprise, D took it seriously.
After thinking for a moment, D nodded.
"I understand."
You understand what?
Mo Chen was stunned.
D lifted her head, her crimson eyes staring intently at Mo Chen as she seriously said, "Because around the hotel, whether it's Nikkes or the humans gathered outside, they all have feelings of goodwill and admiration toward you."
"But I wasn't focused on the Commander at the time. My mind was on the mission arrangements and the operation plan. Moreover, I wasn't emotionally invested, which caused a flaw in my cover. This was my mistake."
D carefully reflected on her shortcomings and mistakes, analyzing them with such depth that he couldn't help but be impressed. Being able to plan so thoroughly, it was no wonder she could become the leader of the Perilous Siege Squad.
"Commander, I'd like to request something from you."
At that moment, D suddenly stood up and walked toward Mo Chen, her crimson eyes fixed on him.
Mo Chen felt a bit uncomfortable under that gaze.
"What is it?"
"Please let me be your wife."
"...?"
He wondered if he'd misheard her and couldn't help but ask again, "What did you say?"
"I want to be your wife," she repeated without any hint of shyness or embarrassment on her beautiful, cool face, as if she were stating something completely normal. "In the Perilous Siege Squad, we're trained to handle unexpected situations with flexible, adaptive responses."
"And this failure has exposed my immaturity in emotional aspects and flaws in emotional simulation. To make up for this gap, I hope the Commander can help me improve my acting skills."
A thousand question marks popped up in Mo Chen's head.
"Huh?"
Wait a minute.
Isn't this just like in the game?
Mo Chen cleared his throat and patiently tried to explain to D, "You don't necessarily have to use this method to improve your acting. Um, watching TV dramas, movies, or even participating in some theater performances can achieve the same effect."
"No."
D flat-out rejected Mo Chen's suggestion.
"That's nothing more than hollow imitation, lacking genuine emotions. Even if I learn it that way, it would be like a baby taking its first steps—clumsy and full of obvious flaws."
"More importantly, there are many Nikkes around the Commander. Based on my observations, the Commander is quite fickle, juggling multiple relationships with various Nikkes, leading to frequent unexpected situations."
"This is an excellent training opportunity."
Mo Chen was dumbfounded, unsure where to even start.
D's powers of observation were truly astonishing, able to notice even the smallest details.
She could see right through how… well, how harmoniously he got along with the Nikkes.
However, she clearly didn't understand Rapi, Anis, and the others. If she really tried being with him, it probably wouldn't be as simple as just "training."
"Don't worry. I'll keep it a secret and won't tell anyone about your… juggling multiple relationships," D added, as if sensing Mo Chen's thoughts. "I also won't get entangled with you. Once the training is complete, I'll leave immediately and won't interfere with your daily life."
Mo Chen couldn't help but glance at D.
She was incredibly beautiful—especially without makeup, exuding a natural charm, like a lotus emerging unsullied from the water.
Her skin was as white as jade, her figure perfectly proportioned. The thin fabric she wore outlined her graceful curves, clearly revealing the shape of her chest, seductive lines of her abs, and the round curve of her hips.
But what caught the most attention was her chest.
Full and prominent, gently heaving with each breath.
It definitely surpassed a D-cup!
By visual estimate, it might've even reached an E!
It's just that her usual combat attire had hidden these alluring curves under layers of tactical gear.
