Chapter 3: 3
There were shocked looks on the faces of all those in the room hearing the number that I quoted as the minimum. This also left them full of worry because if by chance there was another convergence would they be able to handle or at least integrate with such a civilization peacefully? Eventually, they seemed to calm down and come to a decision as they brought their attention back to me.
Fury: There is no god emperor of mankind nor do we have control of any other world as of yet. While we are aware of the galactic community as a whole we're not really part of it in any major sense.
"Then how is the earth not made into a subordinate world and allowed to act independently? No offense but none of your... um... "weapons" are all that powerful should demons invade from the warp you would be easily overtaken. I have also yet to hear about your world's leader can he or she fight demonic gods or are they frail?"
Tony: No they can't some are so old and wrinkly that their most epic battle would be with lids to their medications
"So they are worthless?"
Tony: Pretty much but since you seem to think that we are technologically backward would you be inclined to share some of your advanced tech with us primitives
"That would be like trying to ask for peace from Khorne"
Seeing the lack of recognition I knew I played it safe who knew a game that I used to play when I was bored would come in handy in times like these? Then again who would assume that they would reincarnate in this kind of world in the first place?
"What I mean is that it would be a bad idea"
Tony: So think of us as a baby with a kitchen knife
"How is that bad?" (keeping a straight face)
I couldn't help trolling them it was too funny! The looks on their faces when they heard me even Natasha could barely hide it. Probably not the smartest move when trying to not seem like a threat but definitely worth it.
They decided to keep me locked away for now with limited access to the outside world in the form of television and books written in seven different languages. This was a test to see if I was really from Earth fortunately I knew many languages because I scammed people around the world. For two weeks this continued I never took off my suit or helmet. I trained every day and scanned everything in the room and all the food. Eventually, they stopped trying to drug me and Natasha returned in her regular tight spy clothes.
"Not going to pretend to be an office girl anymore?"
Natasha: How long will you stay in that suit it probably stinks inside there
"It does but I rather endure it than be caught unaware by the people holding me captive"
Natasha: According to you were nothing but primitives so shouldn't you be able to escape?
"I could but I don't want to harm humans in the process"
Natasha: Good to know Shield would like to hire you for some help taking down a terrorist cell would you be willing?
"I'm willing to trust you that these are dissidents that threaten the lives of the greater whole of humanity so yes"
I was taken aboard the Quinjet with Natasha, Tony Stark, and Captain America. Honestly, I was star-struck by Captain America but he wasn't a woman so that lasted about a second. Tony was trying his best to get some tech from me joking around asking questions and trying to make a deal. Steve was trying to press the American way and duty of service into me but I wasn't a soldier. As for Natasha, she seemed to be studying me acting friendly but never familiar.
When we finally arrived we were on an island a few clicks away from the fort Tony flew over and began attacking the enemy with Steve from the front. Natasha and I circled to the back where we began to infiltrate. Using telekinesis I snapped the necks of the three guards while mind-raping the fourth leaving his brain as mush.
Natasha didn't comment as we went inside. The information I got told me that this place belongs to Vandal Savage. Not directly of course nor in any meaningful way but the clues were there.
