Gekkō Ishisaki woke up abruptly, blinking at the familiar ceiling of his bedroom. He was still lying on his bed, though he couldn't remember when he had fallen asleep.

"What happened to chakra refining?" he muttered, his excitement returning as he mentally summoned the system.

The translucent skill bar interface appeared instantly. Seeing that it was still intact, Ishisaki breathed a sigh of relief. Last night, he had been too thrilled to sleep, worried that the chakra refining might stop if he dozed off—or worse, that the system might disappear altogether.

But now he was reassured. The system was real, and it hadn't vanished.

"Let's check my chakra," Ishisaki said, focusing his attention on the passive skills.

Suddenly, a surge of chakra erupted within his body. Ishisaki froze, stunned by the sensation. The chakra coursing through him felt far more substantial than the previous day. He quickly checked his reserves.

"What?!" His eyes widened as he assessed the chakra flow in his body. Compared to the day before, his reserves had more than doubled.

Not only had he surpassed the chakra threshold required for a Genin, but he had also exceeded it significantly. By Ishisaki's estimation, he now had chakra comparable to a mid-level Genin. And the quality of his chakra—refined in his system's most optimal state—was leagues ahead of what he had previously accumulated.

"I slept one night, and my chakra reserves more than doubled… and the quality is incredible!"

He glanced at the words "Passive Skill" displayed on the system interface.

"Passive skill… So it runs automatically? I don't need to do anything? Whether I'm walking, running, or even sleeping, it keeps refining chakra?"

The realization left him astounded. "This system is unbelievable! Even without a task module, mall module, or any of those extras, these passive skill bars are more than enough!"

The absence of limits made the system even more remarkable. Ishisaki could slot any skill into the bars, and they would operate autonomously, regardless of what he was doing. Even mundane activities like eating or sleeping could translate into progress.

But Ishisaki couldn't help but feel a little greedy. "If only there were more passive skill slots… a hundred, or even a thousand!"

As if on cue, another wave of chakra surged through his body. He grinned.

"Each refinement takes five minutes and adds seven traces of chakra," he calculated. "That's 1440 minutes in a day… which means I'm refining chakra 2016 times a day!"

Ishisaki's grin grew wider. "More than two thousand refinements in one day! Even Naruto, with his Uzumaki lineage, can't match this!"

To put it in perspective, it would take Ishisaki two years to achieve the same number of refinements if he relied solely on his manual effort. And not all of those refinements would be in an optimal state. Yet with his system, every refinement was flawless.

As his stomach growled, Ishisaki realized he hadn't eaten since the previous night. He rummaged through the fridge, grabbed something to eat, and quickly filled his stomach. Glancing at the calendar, he noted it was Saturday—a day off from school.

"I've got two full days to test just how much chakra I can accumulate," he said with determination.

Returning to his room, Ishisaki decided to refine chakra manually. The passive skill bars didn't interfere with his actions, so he figured it wouldn't hurt to add to his reserves the old-fashioned way.

Closing his eyes, he sat cross-legged on his bed and began guiding the fusion of physical and spiritual energy within his body. The process felt strangely effortless. The chakra flowed smoothly, almost as if the system had optimized his body's natural chakra refinement process.

In about thirty minutes, Ishisaki completed a manual refinement. He opened his eyes and glanced at the clock.

"Thirty minutes for one refinement…" he muttered, comparing it to the passive skill bar. "This isn't even close."

As he pondered the disparity, a system notification appeared.

[Would you like to update the skill status?]

"Huh?" Ishisaki tilted his head. "Beyond the fixed skill quality? Does that mean I refined chakra better than the system's current standard?"

It did seem like the manual refinement he had just completed was particularly well-executed. The chakra it produced felt slightly more potent than the traces added by the passive skills.

"Update," Ishisaki said, testing the system's response.

[Skill status update completed.]

The system updated all seven passive skill bars instantly. Five minutes later, another wave of chakra surged into Ishisaki's reserves. He blinked in surprise.

"This… this is more than before!" Ishisaki exclaimed. The quantity of chakra produced by each passive refinement had increased by roughly a third.

"So the system can learn from me," he realized. "If I refine chakra better than before, the system updates its standard and replicates it across all the skill bars."

This revelation filled Ishisaki with excitement. As he grew stronger, both physically and mentally, the quality of his chakra would naturally improve. And with the system updating itself to match his growth, his progress would never stagnate.

The system's functionality was mind-blowing. It ran the skills automatically, updated them when Ishisaki surpassed their quality, and operated with no visible drawbacks.

But something was still bothering him.

"Wait a second…" Ishisaki murmured, his excitement fading as a thought struck him. "Why don't I feel tired?"

Normally, chakra refinement consumed both physical and mental energy, leaving him fatigued. Yet despite completing a manual refinement, Ishisaki felt completely fine—energetic, even.

"Could it be… refining chakra manually is now consumption-free too?" he wondered, his eyes widening.

If that were true, it meant his system had not only optimized his passive chakra refinement but also enhanced his own natural abilities. Every aspect of his chakra refinement, whether passive or active, was now operating at a level far beyond the norm.

Ishisaki's mind raced as he considered the implications.

"No fatigue… no consumption… if I refine chakra manually while the system runs in the background…"
