Naruto:Special Shop

Chapter 6: Chapter:6

This was completely different from what they taught in the Ninja Academy!

"Haha!" Haruto chuckled as he saw the astonished expressions on their faces.

He knew exactly what they were thinking.

"I told you before—these golden eggs are magical! Anything can come out of them. A mere Wind Release Jutsu shouldn't surprise you this much!"

"But if you're lucky, you might even be able to unlock the First Hokage's Wood Style!" Haruto added with a smirk.

"WHAT?!"

The three of them froze in shock.

"These eggs can even give Shodai Hokage's Wood Style?!" Shikamaru's expression darkened as he realized the implications.

Wood Style was an exclusive Kekkei Genkai of Senju Hashirama, the God of Shinobi himself!

With Wood Style, Hashirama had dominated the ninja world, crushed his enemies, and founded the Hidden Leaf Village.

Legend even said that the vast forests of the Land of Fire were created entirely by Hashirama's Wood Release Jutsu.

If someone could actually obtain Wood Style from a golden egg…

That would be terrifying.

"I need to tell my dad about this…" Shikamaru thought.

His father, Nara Shikaku, was not only the head of the Nara Clan but also the Jonin Commander of Konoha.

If this store really had the ability to grant Kekkei Genkai, it needed to be reported to the Hokage immediately!

Haruto, however, wasn't concerned at all.

He could see through Shikamaru's thoughts, but he didn't care.

"I'm just a humble shop owner selling golden eggs," Haruto smirked inwardly.

What customers get from the eggs is their own business.

Besides, even if someone did get Wood Style, so what?

No one in Konoha was strong enough to threaten him—not even if Hashirama was resurrected!

"Alright, time for your last prize!"

Haruto reached into the final ball of light and pulled out a rectangular box.

"Haha, this is another board game like chess," he explained, handing it to Shikamaru.

"But it's less intense than chess—more of a casual game for groups!"

It was a Monopoly board game.

"The rules are all inside, so I won't waste time explaining them!"

"Got it." Shikamaru took the game and packed it away.

"Wow, Shikamaru! Everything you got is useful!" Ino exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement and envy.

Then she turned to Haruto with a pout.

"Hey, boss! Why are Shikamaru's items so much better than mine?!"

Not only had Shikamaru gotten more jutsu than her, but one of them was even permanent!

That really annoyed her.

Haruto simply shrugged.

"Dear customer, the contents of these golden eggs are completely random. Even I don't know what's inside before you break them!"

"Whether you get good or bad items is purely luck-based!"

"Ugh, fine…" Ino sighed, still a little upset.

But as Shikamaru's teammate, she was still happy for him.

Suddenly, Shikamaru's eyes widened.

"Oh crap!" he shouted.

The sudden outburst startled everyone.

"What's wrong?" Ino asked.

"It's almost noon! If we don't leave now, we'll miss our team assignments!"

They had already been late when Ino started smashing eggs.

Then Shikamaru had taken another half hour for his own eggs.

If they didn't rush to school immediately, they'd be in trouble!

Without wasting another second, Shikamaru grabbed Ino and bolted for the door, running straight toward the Ninja Academy.

Haruto chuckled as he watched them disappear into the streets of Konoha.

"So, today is the day of the Genin team assignments…"

A smirk formed on his lips.

"I didn't expect to be sent to the beginning of the story. Interesting."

Inside the Academy classroom, Iruka-sensei stood at the podium, reading out the team assignments.

"Team 7: Uchiha Sasuke, Haruno Sakura, Uzumaki Naruto."

"Team 8: Aburame Shino, Hyuga Hinata, Inuzuka Kiba."

"…Team 10: Nara Shikamaru, Yamanaka Ino, Akimichi Choji!"

Iruka glanced around the room.

"Hmm? Shikamaru, Ino, and Choji still aren't here?"

He sighed.

"Are they still in that golden egg shop?"

Earlier that morning, when Ino used the Regional Speaker, her voice had echoed in the minds of everyone in Konoha.

Even Iruka had heard it—and he had been shocked!

So now, he already knew exactly where they were.

"Choji!" Iruka turned to the Akimichi. "Did you see them earlier?"

Choji, who was busy munching on a bag of chips, shrugged.

"I dunno… I didn't see them this morning."

Iruka groaned, rubbing his temples.

Great.

They had just managed to keep Naruto under control, and now these three were causing trouble instead!

BANG!

The classroom door slammed open!

"SORRY, WE'RE LATE!"

Ino and Shikamaru stood in the doorway, breathing heavily.

Iruka narrowed his eyes.

"So," he said calmly, suppressing his frustration, "is that golden egg shop really that much fun?"

"Sorry, sorry!" Ino bowed quickly.

She knew Iruka wasn't really angry, but he was strict about discipline.

And since he was usually nice to them, she hoped he wouldn't punish them too harshly.

After grumbling for a few seconds, Iruka let it slide and told them to take their seats.

As they rushed to their desks, the entire class glared at them.

And two particularly strong glares came from Naruto and Sasuke.

Once they were settled, Choji turned eagerly to Ino.

"Ino! Where's my present?!"

Ino smirked.

"Just wait, Choji!" she whispered.

"I promise you're gonna love this!"

Choji's eyes sparkled with excitement.

"YES!!"

Shikamaru, still exhausted, sighed.

"What a drag…"

But deep down, even he couldn't deny—that golden egg shop was something special.
