Anon stood silently at the edge of a dense, fog-covered forest, his eyes scanning the landscape ahead as Sasuke and Sakura caught up to him. His expression was calm, calculating, but his mind was already running through the strategies they'd need to employ for this mission. He could sense the enemy forces scattered throughout the forest, their chakra faint but unmistakable.
As Sasuke and Sakura approached, Anon turned toward them, his expression unreadable but focused. "We're splitting up from Ryusei and Naruto for a reason," Anon began, his voice low but firm. "The Akatsuki has spread their reanimated forces throughout this area, trying to corral us into one location. If we hit them directly, they'll keep sending more to wear us down. So, we're going to close in from different angles, take out their forces in small waves, and regroup to crush whatever is left in the middle."
Sasuke's Sharingan flickered, scanning the terrain. "Which areas are we attacking?"
Anon pointed to three separate locations in the forest. "Sakura, you'll take the area to the northwest—there's a dense cluster of enemies there, mostly taijutsu-based. Use your strength to tear through them quickly before they can react."
Sakura nodded, her fists tightening as she readied herself. "Understood."
"Sasuke," Anon continued, turning to him, "you'll be hitting the group to the south. They're fast—lightning-style users and weapon specialists. Your Sharingan should give you the edge in predicting their movements. Take them out before they can mount an attack."
Sasuke gave a slight nod, his expression cold and focused. "Won't be a problem."
Anon turned his gaze toward the east, where the heaviest concentration of chakra signatures was coming from. "I'll take the eastern flank. It's the largest group—Edo Tensei shinobi with various elemental affinities. I'll lure them into the Void and wipe them out before they can react."
He paused, glancing at both of them. "Once we've cleared out our respective areas, we'll converge in the middle, where the remaining forces will be. We take them out together."
Sakura and Sasuke exchanged glances before nodding in agreement. They knew what was at stake and trusted Anon's strategy. Without another word, the three of them split off, each heading toward their respective targets.
The ground beneath Sakura's feet thudded lightly as she sprinted toward the northwest section of the forest. Her senses were sharp, her chakra already surging in preparation for the battle ahead. She could feel the presence of dozens of enemies just beyond the treeline, their movements slow but deliberate. These reanimated shinobi were remnants of the past—legendary fighters whose skills had been dulled only by the fact that they were now puppets, controlled by Edo Tensei.
As she drew closer, she could see them—taijutsu specialists, each one moving with precision as they patrolled the area. Sakura narrowed her eyes, channeling chakra into her fists. She wasn't going to hold back. These enemies were skilled, but they were nothing compared to what she'd faced before.
Without a moment's hesitation, Sakura leaped into the air, her chakra-infused fist slamming into the ground with a thunderous impact. The earth erupted beneath her, shockwaves tearing through the ground as several reanimated shinobi were sent flying by the force of her punch. The ground trembled, and a massive fissure split open, swallowing a portion of the enemy forces.
The remaining shinobi turned toward her, their faces devoid of emotion, but their bodies moving with deadly precision. They charged at her in unison, their taijutsu techniques honed from years of battle experience. But Sakura was faster. With a swift movement, she dodged the first wave of attacks, her fists moving in a blur as she delivered powerful punches to each of her attackers.
Each strike she landed was precise, her chakra-enhanced strength pulverizing the reanimated bodies and severing the chakra threads that controlled them. One by one, they fell, their Edo Tensei jutsu unraveling as Sakura tore through them like a whirlwind of destruction.
In mere moments, the battlefield was littered with the remains of the fallen shinobi, their bodies disintegrating into dust as the reanimation jutsu failed. Sakura stood in the center of the wreckage, her breathing steady, her eyes fierce with determination.
"That's one less group to worry about," she muttered, turning toward the center of the forest where she knew Anon and Sasuke would soon converge.
Sasuke moved like a shadow through the southern part of the forest, his Sharingan blazing as he analyzed the movements of the enemy forces ahead. The shinobi here were fast—lightning-style users with a penchant for quick strikes and deadly weapons. But Sasuke had fought faster enemies before, and his Sharingan granted him the ability to see their movements before they even made them.
As he approached, he could see the crackling arcs of lightning chakra dancing across the enemies' weapons, the reanimated shinobi moving in perfect unison as they prepared to attack. But Sasuke was already on them.
In one fluid motion, Sasuke unsheathed his katana, his body moving with lightning speed as he weaved between the enemy shinobi. His Sharingan allowed him to see every incoming strike, every subtle movement. He parried each attack with precision, his blade cutting through the air with lethal intent.
One of the shinobi lunged at him, a blade of pure lightning aimed at Sasuke's chest. But Sasuke sidestepped the attack, his Sharingan predicting the movement before it even began. With a swift flick of his wrist, Sasuke's katana sliced through the shinobi's arm, severing it cleanly. The reanimated shinobi staggered, but before it could react, Sasuke thrust his blade into its chest, severing the chakra threads that held it together.
Another group of shinobi charged at him from the left, their weapons gleaming in the dim light of the forest. Sasuke narrowed his eyes, forming a quick series of hand seals. "Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu!"
A torrent of fire erupted from Sasuke's mouth, engulfing the charging shinobi in a blaze of intense heat. The reanimated bodies were incinerated instantly, their Edo Tensei jutsu unable to withstand the flames. The few that remained were quickly dispatched by Sasuke's katana, his movements swift and precise.
Within minutes, the southern flank was cleared, the ground littered with the ashes of the defeated shinobi. Sasuke sheathed his katana, his eyes still glowing red with the power of the Sharingan. He turned toward the center of the forest, knowing that Anon and Sakura would be waiting.
Anon moved silently through the eastern flank of the forest, his presence barely registering as he approached the largest group of reanimated shinobi. These enemies were different—more skilled, more dangerous. But Anon was not afraid. He had faced countless versions of himself and other powerful warriors in the Eternal Abyss. These shinobi were nothing compared to the threats he had overcome.
As he approached, he extended his hand, summoning the power of the Void. The air around him darkened, a faint shimmer of energy rippling through the space as he prepared his attack. The reanimated shinobi, sensing his presence, turned toward him, their faces blank but their bodies moving with deadly intent.
Anon smirked, his voice low and cold. "You've already died once. I'll make sure it's permanent this time."
With a swift motion, Anon raised his hand, and the air around the enemy shinobi seemed to bend and warp. The Void energy pulsed outward, and suddenly, a tear in reality appeared behind the enemy ranks. The reanimated shinobi, unaware of the danger, moved forward to attack.
But it was too late.
The tear in the Void expanded, consuming the reanimated shinobi one by one. Their bodies were pulled into the abyss, their chakra threads unraveling as the sheer force of the Void tore them apart. Anon moved through the battlefield like a specter, his Void energy warping the space around him as he dispatched each shinobi with terrifying efficiency.
Some of the shinobi attempted to flee, but Anon extended his hand once more, summoning a swirling vortex of Void energy that consumed everything in its path. The remaining shinobi were ripped apart by the force, their bodies crumbling into dust as the Void erased their existence.
Anon stood alone in the aftermath, the ground around him scorched by the power of the Void. He glanced toward the center of the forest, his expression calm. "Time to regroup."
With that, Anon, Sasuke, and Sakura converged on the central point of the battlefield, ready to strike the final blow against the remaining enemy forces.
As Anon, Sasuke, and Sakura converged in the center of the forest, the eerie silence following the defeat of their separate enemy groups was quickly broken by the sound of approaching footsteps. The ground trembled slightly beneath them, and the distant rustle of leaves grew louder. Anon could sense the shift immediately—this wasn't over yet. Their enemies had noticed the fall of their forces and were sending reinforcements, likely the last line of Edo Tensei warriors guarding the path between them and Naruto and Ryusei.
"They're coming," Anon said, his voice cold and measured, his eyes narrowing as he scanned the dense trees ahead. The subtle pull of the Void flickered in his chest, his instincts already preparing for the battle to come. "We'll have to take them down together before we can move forward."
Sasuke's Sharingan flared to life, the tomoe spinning as he focused ahead, sensing the incoming chakra signatures. "Looks like they sent the rest of their forces. This won't be easy."
Sakura tightened the gloves on her hands, her expression serious and focused. "Good. I'm not backing down. We've come too far."
Anon nodded once, his body tense but ready. "Let's end this quickly. We regroup with Ryusei and Naruto after this."
In the distance, the trees parted, and a large group of reanimated shinobi emerged from the shadows, their faces expressionless but their movements precise and deadly. Unlike the groups they had faced before, this force was more organized—an elite group of warriors, each one a master in their own right. They were legends brought back to life, and the dark, oppressive energy of the Edo Tensei jutsu weighed heavily in the air.
Without waiting for the enemy to make the first move, Sasuke darted forward, his Sharingan tracking the rapid movements of the enemy shinobi. With lightning speed, he drew his katana, the blade gleaming in the faint light as he slashed through the air, targeting the first wave of enemies.
One of the reanimated shinobi, a master of wind-style jutsu, attempted to block Sasuke's attack with a gust of razor-sharp wind. But Sasuke's Sharingan predicted the movement, and he sidestepped the blast with ease, bringing his blade down in a precise arc that severed the shinobi's head from his body. The reanimated form crumbled to dust as the Edo Tensei jutsu unraveled, but more enemies were already closing in on him.
Sakura wasn't far behind. As a group of taijutsu specialists rushed toward her, their movements swift and powerful, she channeled chakra into her fists, the ground cracking beneath her feet as she prepared to strike. The first shinobi lunged at her, their fists flying in a rapid series of punches, but Sakura was faster. With a single, devastating punch, she sent the shinobi flying backward, their body crashing into a nearby tree with enough force to shatter it.
The ground quaked as Sakura continued her assault, her chakra-infused strikes sending shockwaves through the battlefield. The reanimated shinobi tried to swarm her, but Sakura's strength was overwhelming. Each punch she landed pulverized her enemies, their bodies disintegrating into dust as the reanimation jutsu failed to hold them together.
Meanwhile, Anon stood at the center of the battlefield, his eyes cold and calculating as he assessed the enemy forces. The Void pulsed within him, a dark, all-consuming energy that he had learned to control with terrifying precision. He extended his hand, and the air around him began to warp, distorting as the Void energy flickered to life.
With a single motion, Anon summoned a tear in reality, a swirling vortex of Void energy that rippled through the battlefield. The reanimated shinobi turned toward him, their faces devoid of emotion, but their bodies moving with lethal intent. But Anon was already prepared. The Void vortex expanded, consuming everything in its path. The shinobi closest to him were caught in the pull, their bodies being torn apart by the sheer force of the Void energy.
One of the shinobi, a master of lightning-style jutsu, attempted to strike Anon with a bolt of lightning, but Anon's Void powers distorted the attack before it could reach him. The lightning scattered into harmless arcs of energy, unable to penetrate the Void's influence. With a flick of his wrist, Anon sent a pulse of energy toward the lightning shinobi, the Void ripping through their chakra threads and disintegrating their form.
Sasuke, seeing the opening Anon created, quickly formed a series of hand seals. "Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!" he shouted, unleashing a massive torrent of fire that swept across the battlefield, engulfing several of the reanimated shinobi in its flames. The fire consumed them, their bodies turning to ash as the Edo Tensei jutsu unraveled.
More enemies closed in, but Sakura, Sasuke, and Anon fought with seamless coordination, each of them using their unique abilities to cover the other's weaknesses. Anon's Void energy tore through the battlefield, disrupting the enemy's chakra and creating openings for Sasuke's precision strikes and Sakura's overwhelming strength.
As the battle raged on, the three of them moved like a well-oiled machine, cutting through the enemy forces with lethal efficiency. The reanimated shinobi, despite their legendary skills, were no match for the combined power of Team Anon.
At one point, a reanimated shinobi wielding a massive claymore charged at Sakura, the blade humming with deadly energy. But Sakura was ready. With a roar, she channeled chakra into her fist and slammed it into the ground, creating a massive shockwave that sent the shinobi—and their claymore—flying into the air. Before they could recover, Sasuke was already there, his katana flashing in the air as he severed the chakra threads controlling the reanimated body.
Anon, meanwhile, moved through the battlefield like a phantom, his Void energy distorting reality around him. Every strike he landed was precise, every tear in the Void calculated to maximize damage to the enemy forces. He weaved between attacks, his body shifting between the realm of the Void and the real world, making him nearly impossible to hit.
After what felt like hours of intense fighting, the final wave of reanimated shinobi fell, their bodies disintegrating into dust as the Edo Tensei jutsu unraveled completely. The battlefield fell silent, the oppressive weight of the enemy forces finally lifted.
Sasuke sheathed his katana, his Sharingan still active as he scanned the area for any remaining threats. "That's the last of them," he said, his voice calm but focused.
Sakura wiped the sweat from her brow, her breathing heavy but steady. "They just keep coming, but we've cleared out this section. We need to regroup with Naruto and Ryusei."
Anon nodded, his eyes returning to their normal color as the Void energy around him faded. "Agreed. The real battle is ahead of us. Let's move."
With the enemy forces eliminated, the three of them wasted no time. They sprinted through the forest, their bodies moving with renewed urgency as they made their way toward Naruto and Ryusei. The final confrontation with the Akatsuki was approaching, and they were ready for whatever came next.
