Chapter 168: Chapter 168: Kurenai’s Trap

"Zabuza-sama."

Haku cried out in despair.

In front of him, Zabuza was impaled by a massive, sharp earth spear, piercing his stomach.

Blood was pouring down in torrents, and though he was barely alive, he was writhing in agony.

"It's over."

The illusionary clones vanished, and Kurenai's face remained calm.

With her keen red eyes, while she couldn't distinguish the chakra pathways in shadow clones as her main dojutsu might, ordinary water clones could not deceive her and certainly couldn't hide in her presence.

"Zabuza-sama, wait for me."

Haku's face was full of desperation. Ignoring the danger, he quickly began weaving hand seals, ready to charge forward.

"Super Fang Wolf Fang!."

Hana merged with her elder dog transforming into a formidable double-headed wolf. With terrifying speed, they charged toward Haku.

"Secret Jutsu: Crystal Ice Mirrors."

Haku's gaze hardened as he summoned a massive ice mirror beside Zabuza.

Boom!

Debris scattered as the ground was violently crushed and split by Hana's powerful assault. In that instant, Haku vanished, slipping through the ice mirror to avoid Hana's ferocious attack.

"Leaf Style: Crescent Moon Dance."

Yugao leaped into the air, her sword flickering with countless afterimages, forming an enchanting circle of lights as she struck, dazzling her opponents.

Clang... Clang...

"Ice Style: Crystal Wall"

A massive, spherical ice shield formed around Haku and Zabuza, blocking Yugao's deadly blow.

In a swift motion, Haku sliced through the earth spear that had impaled Zabuza, managing to pull him free, though he was severely weakened and drenched in blood.

"Haku, forget about me…. leave."

Zabuza coughed up blood, gripping his sword with a pale face as he tried to push Haku to flee.

"Don't speak, Zabuza-sama. I'll get you out of here right now."

Haku was unwilling to leave Zabuza behind. Clenching his teeth, he supported Zabuza and continued forming hand seals.

"You won't escape."

Hana, now in her double-headed wolf form, charged ferociously, displaying a level of intensity rarely seen.

"Secret Jutsu: Crystal Ice Mirrors."

Haku's voice was filled with resolve as shards of ice exploded from the Ice Wall, transforming into thousands of sharp senbon that rained down on Yugao and Hana, who had been in relentless pursuit, forcing them to retreat in shock.

"Aaahhh..."

Unable to evade in time, Yugao and Hana were struck, their bodies pierced through like porcupines, drenched in blood and leaving their bodies in horrific states.

"Yugao… Hana..."

Kurenai's face turned pale, rushing forward to help.

But Haku had no intention of staying to fight, he threw down a smoke bomb, preparing to escape with Zabuza.

However, just then, a sharp, agonizing pain pierced his chest.

"Crack... "

The illusion shattered, and the Zabuza he had been supporting vanished. In his place, a cold blade gleamed, piercing through his heart.

"Arghhh."

Haku coughed up blood, his eyes widening in disbelief as he faced Kurenai.

"Genjutsu? When did this happen?"

Yugao, whom Haku's attack should have fatally wounded, now stood before him, blade in hand, having pierced him from behind.

Zabuza's lifeless body was still impaled by the massive earth spear at the original spot, devoid of life. Hana was also unharmed, now standing beside Kurenai.

"It happened when Zabuza was wounded, and your heart wavered."

Kurenai's voice was gentle as she looked at Haku, whose mask had fallen to reveal his soft, feminine features.

"You were a dedicated partner…. farewell."

In the end, their conflicting sides left no room for mercy.

"Zabuza-sama."

Haku's anguished expression softened, a small, peaceful smile crossing his face as he fell.

"Your Genjutsu skills are incredible, Kurenai-san." Hana's voice was filled with admiration.

She looked at Haku, acknowledging his power to possess this powerful Ice Release at such a young age was rare.

He was, without a doubt, a true genius, capable of forming hand seals with one hand at the age of twelve. Unfortunately, he had chosen the wrong path.

"Not at all."

Kurenai replied humbly, keeping her composure.

Pulling the blood-stained blade from Haku, Yugao glanced over to where Anko was locked in fierce combat with Raiga. "Now, we deal with Raiga."

"No, let's not rush."

Watching as Anko appeared to struggle, Kurenai stopped Hana and Yugao, who were eager to join the fray.

Smiling, she remarked, "Anko doesn't appreciate others meddling in her fights."

"This..."

Yugao and Hana exchanged glances. Looking at Kurenai's deep and enigmatic strength, they held back, watching with heightened vigilance, ready to intervene if needed.

Sizzle…. Crackle…

The battlefield was shrouded in chaos as Raiga's lightning rampaged across the terrain, tearing it apart with relentless strikes.

Raiga's swift movements dodged Anko's wind blades as his expression darkened, noticing that Zabuza and Haku had already fallen.

"Pathetic…. so Zabuza couldn't even handle that."

His eyes burned with fury, mixed with disbelief. "Doesn't matter... I'll take care of you myself, Konoha scum."

Sparks of electricity danced wildly around Raiga's twin swords as he plunged them into the ground.

"Thunder Funeral: Feast of Lightning!"

The sky was illuminated with blinding white light as bolts of lightning intertwined, tearing through the earth like a horde of serpents.

They ripped apart the landscape, smashing everything in their path with unstoppable force.

Boom! Boom!

The ground was obliterated, charred, and cracked under the relentless onslaught.

Rocks flew in all directions as massive lightning bolts surged toward not only Anko but also Kurenai, Yugao, and Hana, forcing them to take defensive stances.

Kurenai's eyes narrowed as she looked at the bolts headed their way.

Just as Yugao and Hana instinctively prepared to dodge, Kurenai's expression remained calm. She swiftly performed hand seals, inhaling deeply.

"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"

Whoosh….

A powerful gust of wind exploded from her, colliding with the oncoming lightning serpents.

Boom! Boom!

A blinding light and deafening noise filled the air, the impact of wind and lightning tearing through the battlefield.

Yugao and Hana, eyes wide, watched in awe as Kurenai's wind technique halted the approaching bolts.

"She blocked it."

Seeing how Kurenai's swift and adept wind release intercepted the attack, Yugao and Hana breathed a sigh of relief, looking at her in disbelief.

Could this truly be the Kurenai they knew?

Not only did she possess fire and earth chakra natures, but she also commanded wind release with such mastery. The display was nothing short of astonishing.

But then, both of their faces turned to alarm as they quickly glanced toward Anko. "Oh no, Anko-san."

Compared to their situation, Anko was Raiga's primary target. Could she withstand the full brunt of his terrifying attack?
