Settling in our hotel, I and Shisui had already freshened up.

Looking at him rechecking his kunai bag, he seemed so disciplined.

Not once had I seen him ask to go eat something or play or even talk about anything other than the mission.

I slowly walked across the room,"You know, Shisui, you should discover more about the town." 

He turned his head from polishing his kunai back to me, "In fact, go down right now; I will take care of those, okay? Bring something to eat for me as well. ".

He smiled and spoke, Thanks," Kagami. Do you want to join?".

I shook my head and signaled a 'no.'. 

'I will just rest a bit.'. 

"Alright then, I will be coming in another half an hour.". 

He soon went out of the room in a cloak; closing the door, I sank on my bed. 

Weapons are lying all around me.

'Let's get to some work '. 

Taking out my ninja pack, I took out all of my ninja tools, planning on counting and sharpening them as well as Shisui's.

It was imperative for a ninja to know his weapons; this little mistake at times even leads to death.

My hand reached for the sharpening stone when

A loud explosion rang out from above. It wasn't in my room, somewhere far above, perhaps even the topmost floor. 

I looked towards the roof; the building was shaking at this point.

' Someone is being attacked, and that too in a very open manner '. 

Seeing all my weapons just lying all over the bed, I picked up my dark blue blade. 

Looking upwards, I donned my cloak and made my way out of the room and up the stairs.

Jumping from a series of steps to another, I made my way up... until I saw him, a man dressed in a black cloak and holding a katana in his hand. He had an oni mask on his face.

The cloak hid all the features of the man, but as if a piece of cloth could deceive my eyes. 

With a posture meant for receiving attacks at arm's length and eyes that were fixed on my shoulders.

The man was no ninja, and if the katana wasn't obvious enough, his first strike was. 

His katana sprung up in a vertical line, heading for my head.

Our blades met, and a struggle of strength started happening.

 Urgh." " The oni mask was barely holding on; my strength was overpowering him. The moment he took a step back, I followed with another strike.

A few more sword clashes later, the man was defenseless and on his knees in front of me. 

I slashed my sword and cut his oni mask in two.

"You are a samurai, aren't you?". I spoke to the white man in front of me; his eyes widened at my statement.

'It was obvious enough to a kid, let alone a ninja.'. 

"Please spare me," he spoke petrified as my blade hung on his neck. "I will tell you anything; just please let me go.". 

My eyes glanced over him, looking for any hidden motives...

'He just doesn't want to die.'

'A wrong line of profession for something like that, don't you think?'

"Alright, I might spare you if you are completely honest with me." I spoke coldly. I meant my statement. Does the man answer me honestly? I would, in fact, let him go, crippled... but alive.

"It's due to a power struggle," he spoke. "I am from the land of iron, and I serve a noble there; he is in a faction against Lord Mifune.". 

"And? How did you end up here?" I questioned the scared man. 

"Well, my lord Hagarashi and Lord Gizmo have been in different factions for a long time.". He continued, "Lord Gizmo's revenue and prestige mostly come from his hotels..." 

"Let me guess, there must be an important Land of Fire noble here, and your plan must be to kill him to ruin this hotel's reputation.". I added looking at his broken oni mask, "while clumsily disguising as ninjas. ".

He nodded hurriedly, "That is actually our plan."

My hands steeled for my next move, "I just have one last question," I continued after a pause, "Had you defeated me, would you have killed me?". 

His eyes screamed in fear at that question; however, he spoke stuttering, "N-no sir, I am but a young samurai; I wouldn't have killed someone as young as you."

I was disappointed, to say the least...

"I told you to be truthful, you know," I spoke, my voice in a low note expressing my dissatisfaction.

"No, wait, please, I have—"

'Looks like I have a damsel to save.'. 

looking. Upwards, I could tell there were another five floors before I would even reach the top.

Looking around the hallways, I spotted the window. 

Breaking the piece of glass, I jumped outside and stuck to the walls and started running. upwards.

"I said, leave me, protect Lord Mizuko." I heard a distant shout, and with a burst of chakra, I was soon in the main field.

The roof of the hotel was designed as a mansion; it looked like something the richest people would be able to enjoy.

Looking at the scene, there were 10 samurai dressed in cloaks and wearing oni masks. 

In one corner of the place was a bashed-up house with a middle-aged man holding his young daughter in his arms. 

His side had a few warriors left, and the rest were being overpowered.

'Five against ten, they will lose...Not.'.

"You all protect the lord; leave these samurai to me.". My shout resounded in the grounds, and the warriors quickly left their places.

Five of them didn't let up the assault and rushed towards the lord.

'I have to stop them.'

Surging chakra rushed out of my body and onto my blade, covering the blade. I willed it to become an extension of the sword itself.

'One second, that's all I have; my chakra isn't stable enough.'. 

Flickering in between the lord and enemy, I slashed my chakra sword at them.

Three heads were on the ground, the attack too fast for their reflexes to dodge. 

The other two were out of my reach but were frightened enough to turn back to their group. 

"A master," one of them spoke, "How come a master is here right now?".

Their leader, a buff-looking man, walked towards me, "Who are you?"...
