Chapter 19: Chapter:19
"Scatter, scatter!"
"Little ones, do you think a duel at this level is a show? Move away—at least two hundred meters back!"
The Uchiha clan elders shouted, urging the younger clan members to retreat from the battlefield. The more experienced elders, who had lived through the eras of Uchiha Madara and Senju Hashirama, quickly distanced themselves from the combat zone. Even from two hundred meters away, they could sense the risks.
Within moments, the crowd had cleared, leaving only Uchiha Hirito and Uchiha Tomita standing at the center.
"Let's begin," Hirito declared, as the purple outline of Susanoo began to take shape around him.
First, translucent skeletal arms, ribs, and torso appeared, soon solidifying into an enormous structure around him. As Hirito's chakra intensified, Susanoo continued to grow, flesh and armor manifesting over the skeletal frame, until it stood over fifty meters tall, eventually reaching a towering seventy meters.
Hirito felt a dull ache in his eyes, signaling he had reached the Mangekyō Sharingan's limit. "It seems this is as far as my current strength allows," he thought, with the knowledge that only an Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan would unlock Susanoo's full form. But for now, it would suffice.
He summoned a colossal dark-yellow sword made of molten chakra into Susanoo's hand, symbolizing his mastery over Lava Release. This was Hirito at his full power.
From the crowd, the Uchiha elders watched with awe and disbelief. "I never thought I'd see this kind of power again in my lifetime," one elder muttered.
"God bless our Uchiha! Who in Konoha could stand against this?" another exclaimed, voice shaking with emotion. This was not the power of mortals; this was the power of gods.
Younger Uchiha clan members stared at Hirito's Susanoo, a mix of awe and envy in their eyes. They knew they were witnessing a manifestation of legendary strength.
For Uchiha Tomita, standing at Susanoo's base, the colossal figure was overwhelming. He could barely glimpse Hirito's face above. "Is this really the power I'm expected to face?" Tomita thought, the immensity of Susanoo filling him with dread.
"Are you ready, Tomita?" Hirito's voice boomed down. At that moment, Hirito fully understood why Madara had regarded only Hashirama as his equal. With such power, few others would matter.
But Hirito, showing a measure of courtesy, still gave Tomita a moment to prepare.
Tomita braced himself, gripping his sword tightly as he charged forward, attempting a strike on Susanoo. His blade met Susanoo's armor with a deafening clang, but to no effect; a crack appeared on Tomita's weapon while Susanoo remained undamaged.
"Is that all?" Hirito's voice echoed, tinged with amusement.
Undeterred, Tomita quickly formed seals. "Fire Style: Great Fire Annihilation!" he shouted, unleashing a massive sea of flames toward Hirito's Susanoo.
Hirito watched the flames with mild interest. "Not bad," he thought, recognizing the force of the attack. But in the face of Susanoo's might, it was nothing.
With a swing of Susanoo's molten blade, Hirito dispersed the flames, the strike's sheer power parting the sky itself, leaving a massive rift in the clouds. The destructive force even reached Konoha's perimeter, causing the defensive barrier to shatter.
Alarms blared across Konoha as the entire village mobilized in response.
"Enemy attack? The barrier's been breached!" shouted a member of Konoha's Anbu. Orders echoed as security forces scrambled to evacuate villagers and secure the area.
But Hirito, oblivious to the chaos he had caused in Konoha, was wholly absorbed in his battle with Tomita.
Tomita looked up, horror and despair in his eyes as he realized the vast difference in power. His strongest technique had been deflected with a single swing.
"I concede," Tomita declared, his voice resigned. Continuing would mean nothing but certain death. The only way he could defeat Hirito's Susanoo would be through a relentless, sacrificial barrage of attacks, but the price would be unimaginable.
Upon hearing Tomita's surrender, Hirito felt a pang of disappointment. He had barely begun to test his strength. But he released Susanoo, letting it dissipate.
The sudden loss of chakra left Hirito drained. His limbs felt leaden, and his vision blurred slightly. The Mangekyō Sharingan's power came with a high price, and Susanoo required a profound level of mastery to wield effectively. Hirito had pushed beyond his limits, and his body was paying the price.
But Hirito didn't care. He had secured his position. The entire Uchiha clan now looked upon him with awe, as though he were a god.
