Naruto: Uchiha Rejects Konoha

Chapter 2: 2. System Mission

[Ding! The Host is detected changing the plot, and system loading is complete!]

[Release initial mission: Rescue Shisui]

[Reward: Mangekyō Sharingan]

[Newcomer gift pack: Congratulations on doubling the Host's chakra! Physical fitness enhanced! Three Tomoe Sharingan obtained!]

As soon as Yagami left the clan, a voice echoed in his mind, leaving him speechless. I already became a Jōnin, and the cheat system decides to show up now. What timing!

And this so-called "beginner gift pack"—is it serious? Doubling chakra and physical enhancement are barely worth mentioning. The only useful part is the Three Tomoe Sharingan.

I awakened that years ago! Thinking about the parents I'll never see again and that I'll be cut down by Itachi someday, it was challenging enough to unlock the three-tomoe stage.

Sure, I'd hoped for a cheat when I first crossed into this world, but you acted like you didn't exist. Now you pop up, and I'd be mad if I didn't complain...

[Ding! Host's Three Tomoe Sharingan detected. Sharingan fusion enhancement is complete; illusion abilities are enhanced!]

"Tch! Garbage system..."

I thought I'd get Mangekyō immediately, but this is it?

While Yagami cursed the system, his group reached the Naka River area and began searching for Shisui.

He could roughly guess the time and place, but the specifics were unknown—he wasn't Kishimoto, after all…

"I found him! It's Shisui! Damn, his eyes have been gouged out!"

Fortunately, as Uchiha, they had an edge with vision abilities. While not as effective as the Byakugan, they were still better than average shinobi.

"Does anyone know medical ninjutsu? Heal Shisui quickly to save his life."

Seeing Shisui's critical condition, Yagami was frustrated. Despite his relentless training, he hadn't focused on medical ninjutsu!

Luckily, most of those present were Supporting Faction. Although none specialized in medical ninjutsu, at least a few had some knowledge.

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for completing the initial mission. Mangekyō Sharingan unlocked!]

The system, quiet under Yagami's complaints, finally spoke before falling silent again.

Feeling a cool chakra gathering in his eyes, Yagami couldn't help but sigh with relief.

Awakening the Three Tomoe Sharingan hadn't been too difficult, with emotional triggers spanning two lives making it straightforward.

Mangekyō was different. He genuinely worried about being unable to awaken it.

After all, he didn't belong here, lacked deep bonds, and had long passed the age of innocence—feeling that level of emotional intensity was uncertain.

This system might be useful after all!

With Shisui's life saved and his mission complete, Yagami felt relieved. He could finally put his worries aside.

The sight of Shisui's battered state ignited a surge of rage among the Uchiha gathered there.

"Bastard! How dare they steal the eyes of our Uchiha!"

"To hurt Shisui like this… I won't let them get away with it!"

"Who? Who did this to Shisui? Yagami, tell us—who attacked him!"

Yagami, still absorbing the newfound power of the Mangekyō, felt a surge of irritation at the outburst around him. Before he could respond, his enhanced perception detected more presence, and he turned his gaze toward the trees behind them.

A rapid swish sounded as three shinobi dressed as Anbu burst out from the woods, entering everyone's sight.

Seeing the group of Uchiha, the Anbu team leader faltered. His target was right in front of him, but the presence of so many Uchiha clan members was unexpected.

"Anbu!"

The Uchiha were stunned. The three Anbu, on the other side, carried an unmistakable aura of hostility, which quickly dispelled any notion that they had come for a rescue.

Could the Hokage himself have sanctioned this attack on Shisui? But why?

Most of the Uchiha present were Supporting Faction, still harbouring some hope in the village, but this scene caused their beliefs to waver.

As the Anbu team leader took in the unexpected numbers, his expression grew tense. It wasn't a lack of confidence in his own abilities or those of his teammates but the fact that they were facing Uchiha.

Though backup would be ideal, Danzo's orders were absolute—Shisui must not survive.

The team leader signalled, and his teammates moved without hesitation, rushing toward the Uchiha with their formations shifting to create confusion as they closed in.

The Uchiha, though initially taken aback, were all Jōnin and quickly reacted. Two clan members launched the Great Fireball Technique, while others hurled shuriken concealed within the flames.

The root ninja's confidence wavered, not only due to the number disparity but because they were up against Uchiha Jōnin, known for their prowess. A single Uchiha Jōnin with a fully activated Sharingan could challenge three foes alone.

The battle quickly turned one-sided. As the root ninja frantically evaded the flames and shuriken, they attempted a last-ditch effort. Each pulled out a detonating tag, intending to trigger it at close range—a desperate move designed to take the Uchiha down with them.

Realizing the danger, the Uchiha scrambled to move Shisui out of harm's way, astonished at the root agents' extreme tactics.

But in the end, the detonating tags remained inactive. The three root ninjas stood frozen, holding the tags like statues.

Yagami, eyes glowing with the power of the Three Tomoe Sharingan, had immobilized them. Despite having fused the Mangekyō, he refrained from using it here, knowing overuse could lead to blindness. The Three Tomoe Sharingan, especially with enhanced genjutsu, was more than enough for these root operatives.

"It's not Anbu; they're from the Root…"

Watching the Supporting Faction, usually sympathetic to the village, actually engage in battle against what they thought was Anbu, Yagami felt a flicker of hope. Perhaps the Uchiha's fate wasn't unchangeable.

If the Uchiha family could unify, they'd have the leverage to negotiate with the village!

A divided Uchiha, rife with factionalism, might seem insignificant, but a united Uchiha? That would be different.

From what he'd seen, the Supporting Faction didn't truly want to be allied with Konoha's top leadership. While challenging the Hokage might be difficult, opposing Danzo was within reach.

There was a marked difference between resisting the Hokage and resisting Danzo. Sarutobi Hiruzen's stance toward the Uchiha was more about control, while Danzo's aim was total elimination.

One problem at a time—if they could deal with Danzo first, that would buy time to persuade the family. With a united Uchiha, even if Danzo moved against them, the Hokage himself might intervene.

After all, Konoha couldn't risk the fallout of a Uchiha rebellion…
