Naruto: Transmigrated as Obito with the System

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: I, Uchiha Obito

Konoha Year 39.

The breeze was gentle, and the sunlight was just right.

Inside a spacious classroom, the teacher droned on tirelessly at the podium.

Is there any better environment for a nap than this?

"Zzz~ Zzz~ Zzz~"

A steady snoring sound broke the monotony. A young boy's head bobbed up and down in rhythm, his posture amusingly awkward.

However, none of the other children paid him any mind.

This guy sleeping in class was as common as leaves falling in autumn. If anything, people might think he came to school not to learn but to cure his insomnia.

The teacher, however, had noticed the disturbance.

A girl sitting next to the boy sighed softly and nudged him with her elbow.

"Obito, wake up! The teacher's looking at you."

"Huh?"

The boy opened his eyes groggily, wiping a trail of drool from the corner of his mouth. He glanced around, his gaze landing on the little girl beside him.

She had short brown hair, big round eyes, and soft, rosy cheeks with two distinct purple markings on them.

"Eh?"

The boy squinted at her, a strange sense of familiarity nagging at him.

Then, like a bolt of lightning, it hit him.

Wait... isn't this Nohara Rin?!

He rubbed his eyes furiously and glanced past her, where a silver-haired boy wearing a mask sat coolly, exuding indifference.

Oh. My. God.

Kakashi Hatake?!

His jaw dropped as realization dawned on him.

If this wasn't a dream, then there could only be one explanation.

I... I've transmigrated?!

The boy touched his face, and his hand brushed against the goggles on his forehead.

Rin had just called him "Obito," hadn't she?

His new identity was clear. He had transmigrated into the body of Uchiha Obito!

"Ding! Transmigration detected. Would you like to bind to the system?"

Still dazed, the boy blurted out, "System? What system?"

"Ding! Host has spoken. God-Level Choice System successfully bound."

"..."

Before he could process the bizarre turn of events, a piece of chalk flew through the air and hit him squarely on the head.

"Obito! Stand up!"

The teacher's patience had clearly run out. Sleeping in class was bad enough, but disrupting it was the final straw.

Obito—or rather, the transmigrated boy—stood up awkwardly, his heart pounding.

Facing teachers was an instinctive fear for students, deeply ingrained in their DNA.

The teacher tapped the blackboard angrily, his voice dripping with menace.

"Repeat the problem I just explained. If you can't, go stand outside!"

Obito squinted at the blackboard. The problem was about basic ninja world knowledge—entry-level stuff. Yet even with Obito's memories, the boy found it oddly challenging.

Suddenly, a translucent screen appeared in front of him.

Choices:

Apologize sincerely and admit your mistake. After all, sleeping in class isn't great for your posture. Reward: +1 to the teacher's goodwill.Argue your case.

Tell the teacher you'd definitely get it right if you knew the answer. Reward: Double the homework tonight.

Say, "It's not that I'm looking down on you, sensei, but these questions insult my intelligence." Reward: Basic Ninja World Knowledge.

The boy's eyes lit up.

A cheat system! It's real!

The rewards wouldn't make him a powerhouse instantly, but who cared? He was here to live life on the edge!

Grinning, he stepped onto his chair, puffed out his chest, and declared:

"Sensei, it's not that I'm looking down on you, but these questions are an insult to my intelligence!"

The classroom fell into a stunned silence.

Rin stared at him, wide-eyed.

Obito-kun... what's gotten into you today?

Even Kakashi spared him a glance, his expression saying it all: Idiot.

Choice made. Reward unlocked: Basic Ninja World Knowledge.

A flood of information poured into Obito's mind. Suddenly, everything clicked.

Smirking, he rattled off the answers to every question on the blackboard with flawless precision.

The teacher was dumbfounded.

This is Obito we're talking about, right? The class clown?

Even Rin and Kakashi were shocked.

The teacher's eyes welled up with tears, his voice trembling with emotion.

"Well done! Well done! Obito, you've finally made progress!"

Obito sat down, shrugging off the teacher's melodramatic response.

It's just answering a few questions—why the waterworks?

As the day went on, Obito gradually accepted his new reality.

He was Uchiha Obito now. This body, these memories—they were his.

In his heart, he vowed: I'll change the tragic fate of the Uchiha Clan.

Of course, having a cheat system didn't hurt.

For now, though, it was time to take things easy.

Heroic efforts? Pfft. That's a joke for fools.

After school, as the other students packed their bags, Obito leaned on his desk, grinning at Rin.

Ah, childhood sweetheart tropes. Gotta love 'em.

Rin's cheeks flushed as she caught him staring.

"Obito-kun, why are you looking at me like that? Is my hair messy?"

Shaking his head, he said solemnly,

"From afar, you're like the radiant morning sun. Rin, you're beautiful."

Though the poetry lost some of its elegance in translation, it was enough to send Rin into a flustered frenzy.

"B-Bye, Obito-kun! See you tomorrow!"

She grabbed her bag and bolted out of the classroom, her face bright red.

Watching her retreating figure, Obito chuckled.

Rin, you're Obito's light in this world. And I... I am Obito.

(T/N: What do you think about this fanfic? I'd love to hear your suggestions regarding the translation of certain moments. Personally, I really enjoy novels with system elements like this one, especially those set in a time period that predates the canon story.)
