Naruto The Thunder Calamity

Chapter 248: Chapter 248: Raijin vs Madara

When Uchiha Suisei and Uchiha Raijin, full of killing intent, entered Uzumaki Nagato's room, ready to take Nagato away, they saw him on the brink of death.

With the Rinnegan removed, blood was flowing uncontrollably from Uzumaki Nagato's empty eye sockets.

On top of that, having used the Rinnegan's abilities under Black Zetsu's control, he had lost a large amount of life force. Honestly, Uzumaki Nagato was only still alive thanks to the Uzumaki clan's enormous vitality.

"You..."

The mask on her face had already been removed, and after the seal on her chest was broken, Uchiha Suisei no longer had a reason to hide her true face.

At that moment, seeing Uzumaki Nagato's tragic condition, Suisei's heart almost shattered.

After all, he was the child Suisei had watched grow up...

A twisted face full of cold killing intent appeared. If it were possible, Raijin had no doubt that Suisei would slice Uchiha Madara into pieces.

But the problem was, Suisei probably wasn't a match for Uchiha Madara.

From every angle, the situation didn't favor her.

The crimson Mangekyou appeared, and the space around Uzumaki Nagato began to twist.

Madara glanced at Uzumaki Nagato but showed no sign of stopping her.

He didn't even take advantage of the opportunity to kill Uzumaki Nagato.

After all, in Madara's eyes, Uzumaki Nagato had already done what he needed to do.

There was no need to kill him.

Even if he was taken away, how long would he last? Anyway, Uchiha Suisei was definitely going to die.

A traitor...

The most deserving of death!

"Take Nagato to Tsunade. She can help."

Raijin whispered to Suisei.

"What about here?"

Suisei frowned, looking at Uchiha Madara.

"Leave this to me."

Raijin stepped forward slightly, positioning himself to block Suisei behind him.

After finally saving her, he couldn't let Madara kill her now.

"Are you... really ignoring me this much?"

Uchiha Madara, who had been continuously disregarded, stood with his hands behind his back, looking helplessly at the two younger members of the Uchiha clan before him.

Back when he was the head of the Uchiha clan, if such a genius had appeared within the family, he would have been thrilled, right?

But now, this genius stood on the opposite side.

A touch of irony appeared on Madara's lips, forming a wry smile.

"Of course we're paying attention to you. After all, someone like you, if we're not careful, could destroy everything I have right now."

Raijin chuckled lightly, shifting his position to silently block Suisei completely.

Watching Raijin block her, Suisei quietly pressed her lips together, and her form began to distort.

Activating Kamui also takes time.

Even if that time is extremely short,

In front of ninjas like Uchiha Raijin or Uchiha Madara, it's a huge opening.

That amount of time is more than enough for either Raijin or Madara to take countermeasures.

Whether it's dodging to avoid being absorbed, or using that time to take Suisei's life, it's all possible.

"There's no need to be so cautious. I already know where you are. I was the one who decided where Konohagakure would be located."

Uchiha Madara watched Raijin, who was standing in front of his brother, with calm interest. He chuckled lightly and slowly spoke.

Madara wasn't worried about Suisei escaping, since Konohagakure was right there, and she couldn't run far.

So Madara wasn't in a hurry to take action against Suisei; instead, he was more interested in Uchiha Raijin.

Madara really wanted to know what gave Raijin the courage.

The courage to stand in front of him.

Madara knew better than anyone the gap between the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan and the Mangekyo Sharingan.

And he understood even better the difference between the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan and the Rinnegan.

Looking at Raijin's current state, it was clear that Raijin hadn't unlocked the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

So, what gave Raijin the courage? Was it Senjutsu?

The technique that had completely suppressed him in the past.

Madara instantly recognized Raijin's current state, which was strikingly similar to the time when Senju Hashirama used Senju True Hands against him.

"Ah... I'll try to keep you from causing trouble for Konohagakure."

Raijin raised an eyebrow at Madara's words and responded,

"Oh? Saying it is one thing, but doing it might be different."

Madara chuckled lightly and spoke to Raijin.

Ignoring the Uchiha fan Madara held in his hand and Raijin's hand casually resting on the Kusanagi Sword,

The two of them now appeared to be chatting casually like old friends.

In fact, Madara was quite interested in Uchiha Raijin.

This young man, who had given him a bit of a headache before his death.

Now that he had been revived, Madara wasn't in a rush to fight. Instead, he had enough patience to talk with Raijin.

Before regaining his Rinnegan, Madara had learned about the recent events through Zetsu.

He naturally knew that Konohagakure was already aware of his existence.

With some simple deductions, it was easy to figure out that Konohagakure must have already made a series of plans because of his presence.

Moreover, the Three-Tails and Six-Tails—

To be honest, this was a huge mistake for the Moon's Eye Plan.

But Madara didn't care.

In fact, Madara was quite interested in the plan Konohagakure had made for him.

This didn't mean that Uchiha Madara was foolish; it was simply because he had complete confidence in his own strength.

The opposing forces, united as one, give birth to all things in the universe.

Having already obtained the power of the universe, Uchiha Madara was fully confident.

"And, you don't need to be so nervous. I'm not someone who enjoys killing. I only need the Nine-Tails from Konohagakure. Hmm… seems like the Two-Tails and Eight-Tails are also in Konohagakure now?"

After saying this, Madara paused for a moment, then continued speaking to Uchiha Raijin.

"You really are quite capable, my junior."

At the end, Madara complimented Raijin.

"Thank you for your kind words. It's truly an honor to have your approval," Raijin responded with a slight smile and a polite nod.

He looked up, meeting Madara's gaze, and continued.

"But sorry, I can't let you take the Two-Tails, Eight-Tails, and Nine-Tails."

"Why not? Isn't it worth sacrificing a few Jinchuriki to achieve everlasting peace for the ninja world?" Madara replied, questioning Raijin. He believed Raijin knew about the Eye of the Moon Plan, so he was sure Raijin understood his intentions.

"First, sacrifice is only meaningful when those who are sacrificed agree to it. Second, I agree with your vision of peace, but I don't agree with your plan to trap the entire ninja world in Genjutsu," Raijin said after a brief pause, carefully organizing his thoughts before replying.

Raijin was genuinely interested in having a conversation with a legendary ninja like Madara. He had no intention of trying to talk his way out of it.

Meanwhile, Black Zetsu watched this exchange, remaining calm on the surface, but feeling anxious inside.

Why are they still talking?

Fight already!

Madara, kill him!

Of course, Black Zetsu couldn't say this out loud.

After all, Black Zetsu knew one thing very well: either of these two could end his life without breaking a sweat! At such a critical moment, there was no need to say or do anything.

All he needed to do was wait quietly for the right opportunity, ready to act when the time came.

But even at this critical moment, Black Zetsu's heart began to race, filled with both excitement and uncertainty.

Thousands of years of waiting, observing, and planning.

Now, everything had come down to this moment, with these two seemingly calm individuals talking to each other.

One was the most outstanding reincarnation of Indra in history.

The other was the biggest variable in the plan.

Black Zetsu knew that if Uchiha Raijin died here, the Eye of the Moon Plan would surely succeed.

Even if Uchiha Raijin didn't die, or if Uchiha Madara died here, it wouldn't matter.

It would just mean another round of waiting, planning, and lurking.

It was fine. Just quietly wait for the answer to be revealed.

And so...

"But without doing this, how can we ever achieve true peace? Greed creates desire, desire breeds hatred between people, and hatred keeps growing into more hatred.

Only the Eye of the Moon Plan can bring true peace to the ninja world. Isn't that right?" Madara tilted his head slightly, asking Uchiha Raijin.

Madara was very curious about what Uchiha Raijin thought about this.

"I've heard that Rikudou Sennin had the Rinnegan and was also the Jinchuriki of the Ten Tails. If it were Rikudou Sennin, wouldn't it be very easy for him to carry out the Moon Eye Plan? Then why didn't Rikudou Sennin start the Moon Eye Plan? Was it because Rikudou Sennin didn't think of it?"

Raijin raised an eyebrow at these words but didn't answer Madara's question. Instead, he asked Madara in return.

"It's because he was foolish."

Madara responded without any hesitation.

His tone was firm and full of conviction.

"Rikudou Sennin chose to give chakra to everyone, founded the Shinobi sect, even divided the Ten Tails chakra into nine tailed beasts, and sealed the Gedo Mazo on the moon."

Madara slowly said to Raijin.

"But what was the result? Thousands of years of war, lasting until the establishment of the Hidden Villages."

"Senju Hashirama once hoped to bring peace to the ninja world with love, but what happened then?

After his death, the First Great Ninja War broke out almost instantly.

Isn't it enough to prove how foolish that ideal is after two failures?"

Madara asked Raijin.

"I admit, everything you said is true, but I'm sorry, I still cannot agree with your ideals.

Although a world full of war and hatred is truly repulsive,

this world, at least, is real. Maybe your ideals are correct, but I can't accept that the world I know was created by the ninjas I'm familiar with.

I need a real world, at least a world that feels relatively real to me."

Raijin pursed his lips upon hearing this. He had to admit, Madara did have a point.

And from Madara's perspective, such actions could indeed end the wars.

But Raijin couldn't accept it.

"Younger generation, I truly appreciate your honesty."

A smile appeared on the corner of Madara's mouth as he spoke to Uchiha Raijin.

"Honestly, I'm starting to like you a little. At least, you're not hypocritical."

After a pause, Madara's smile unknowingly widened. Looking at Raijin, he softly said,

"To earn your recognition is my greatest honor."

Raijin slightly nodded and seriously spoke to Uchiha Madara.

Even though Madara was on the opposite side, that didn't stop Raijin from liking him.

Truthfully, if Raijin had experienced everything Madara had, he might have done even worse.

"So, are you sure you want to keep standing on the opposite side of me?"

Madara paused and then asked Raijin.

"I'll give it my all."

Raijin stepped back a little and said to Uchiha Madara.

His voice wasn't loud, but it was firm.

"I'm really curious. After all these years, how far have you grown?"

Madara raised the Uchiha fan in his hand and spoke to Raijin.

"I hope I can satisfy you."

Raijin smiled lightly and, as he did, the Kusanagi Sword and Futsunomitama Blue emerged from their sheaths.

They floated on either side of Raijin's body.

"Shinobi have limits."

Madara's gaze sharpened slightly upon hearing this. Was that... Magnet Release?

To develop a Kekkei Genkai with his own strength—truly impressive chakra control.

"That's right, but humans have no limits."

Raijin nodded and slowly spoke to Madara.

"Clink!"

In the next moment, Uchiha Madara's figure instantly appeared in front of Raijin.

The tail of the Uchiha fan swung forward, but was blocked by Futsunomitama.

At the same time, the Kusanagi Sword turned into a streak of light and aimed for Uchiha Madara's back.

"I'll be watching closely."

Madara nodded upon hearing this. Honestly, he hadn't expected Uchiha Raijin to maintain Sage Mode this whole time.

During their previous conversation, Madara had noticed that Raijin was already in Sage Mode.

In fact, at that time, even if Raijin had exited Sage Mode, Madara wouldn't have taken the chance to attack.

He was even willing to give Raijin the time to enter Sage Mode.

But what surprised him was that, from start to finish, Raijin had never shown any intention of leaving Sage Mode.

There were only two possibilities in this situation. One was that Raijin was an absolute fool.

The other was that Raijin had enough confidence in himself.

Confidence that he could defeat Madara before Sage Mode ran out, or that he could keep Sage Mode active for a much longer time.

And a ninja who had grown to this level couldn't possibly be a fool. Smart people don't always survive to the end.

But foolish people always end up dying along the way for various reasons.
