Naruto: The Tale of an Otsutsuki

Chapter 288: Chapter 288: The Last Struggle

"Father!"

"Wait," Boruto said, holding Sarada back as she moved to rush out. "Sasuke told us to stay put unless he gives us a signal. We'll just get in the way if we interfere now."

Sarada clenched her fists but nodded reluctantly. "You're right. Dad wouldn't want us to put ourselves in danger."

Mitsuki added, "Boruto is right. We'd only complicate things out there. Let's trust Sasuke and the others. They're much stronger than us."

Sarada looked at the battlefield with worry in her eyes. "I know, but still..."

As they spoke, a massive shockwave erupted from the center of the battlefield, shaking the ground beneath them.

"What was that?!" Boruto exclaimed.

Sarada activated her Sharingan, scanning the scene. "It looks like Kirito sent Ishiki crashing into the ground. I couldn't see the exact moment it happened."

Mitsuki frowned. "Both of them are on a completely different level. It's hard to believe anyone can go toe-to-toe with Ishiki like that."

"At least Dad's safe for now," Boruto said, relief washing over him as he saw Naruto being freed from the black rods. He grinned mischievously. "Once this is over, I'm going to make fun of him for getting captured like that!"

Sarada rolled her eyes. "Big talk coming from someone who was panicking about saving him earlier."

Boruto laughed nervously. "Hey, that was before I saw how strong Kirito is! I wasn't panicking... much."

Their banter was cut short by a sudden, ominous shift. The buildings around them began to vanish, one by one, leaving behind only empty craters.

"Watch out!" Mitsuki shouted, pulling the others to safety as their own building disappeared beneath their feet.

The three landed on the open ground, surrounded by nothing but barren earth. All the structures in the area had been reduced to nothing.

"This is insane," Boruto said, scanning the desolate landscape. "It's like the whole area's been wiped clean."

Sarada adjusted her glasses. "This isn't good. We're completely exposed now."

Ishiki, hovering above them, let out a cold laugh. "Oh? What's this? Little rats scurrying about?" His smile twisted into a sinister grin. "Perfect. Let's make sure you all perish together."

Ishiki raised his arms, and in an instant, massive buildings and structures materialized above the battlefield. Their shadows loomed over everyone, most of them concentrated above Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki.

Boruto's eyes widened. "This is bad! We can't outrun that!"

Naruto and Sasuke sprang into action.

"Boruto!" Naruto yelled, rushing toward his son.

Before he could reach them, a massive building appeared in his path, forcing him to crash into it. The structure shrank immediately, trapping Naruto inside.

"Damn it!" Naruto growled, struggling to break free.

Sasuke, meanwhile, found himself surrounded by multiple thick walls, cutting off his escape.

Above the chaos, Kirito remained calm. Without hesitation, he reached up and grabbed the small creature perched on his head—his transformed Ten Tails, Little Leopard.

Kirito flung the creature into the air.

Boom!

Little Leopard reverted to its true form mid-flight, opening its mouth wide. A powerful energy began to condense in its maw, humming with a low, ominous buzz.

Woosh!

With a deafening roar, a Diffusion Tailed Beast Bomb erupted from Little Leopard's mouth, spreading like a massive web. The destructive energy consumed every building in the sky, shattering them into nothingness.

Ishiki's expression darkened as he watched his attack disintegrate. "That... thing. A Ten Tails?!" His frustration boiled over. "Damn you! I'll destroy everything if I must!"

Before he could act, Kirito shot forward like a silver bullet. His fist, glowing with chakra, struck Ishiki square in the chest.

CRACK!

Ishiki's body bent like a broken doll, blood spraying from his mouth. The force of the blow shattered the buildings and walls behind him, sending his battered form hurtling out of the village and into the dense forest.

Kirito didn't pause. He followed Ishiki's trajectory, his Byakugan glowing fiercely.

On the ground, Boruto and the others stared in awe.

"Dad!" Boruto called out as Naruto finally broke free from the shrinking structure and landed beside him.

Naruto's eyes darted around the battlefield, taking in the devastation. "What happened? Where's Kirito? Where's Ishiki?"

Sarada pointed to the deep ravine carved into the forest. "Kirito sent him flying... over there."

In the forest, Ishiki lay sprawled in the dirt, his body broken and his chakra flickering weakly. His vision swam as he coughed up blood, the cracks in his body spreading further.

As Kirito approached, Ishiki glared at him with pure hatred. "You... how...?"

Kirito didn't respond. He grabbed Ishiki by the neck, dragging him like a broken puppet toward a portal he opened with Yomotsu Hirasaka.

Back on the battlefield, Sasuke emerged from the rubble, his sword slicing through the remaining debris. He joined Naruto, Boruto, and the others, all of whom were staring in the direction Kirito had disappeared.

Naruto frowned. "It's too quiet now... Did Kirito finish him off, or...?"

Boruto clenched his fists. "Do you think Kirito... won?"

Naruto's gaze remained fixed on the horizon. "I don't know. But something tells me... this isn't over yet."
