Naruto: The Tale of an Otsutsuki

Chapter 282: Chapter 282: Interrogation of Amado

"Kashin Koji, you cannot deny your involvement with Amado. The crash of the spaceship was orchestrated by both of you to let Kawaki escape."

Through the one-way glass of the interrogation room, Kirito observed the interrogation. The video playing on the wall showed two figures locked in a heated exchange.

As the camera shifted, a man with black lines on his chin and a long, braided ponytail appeared on the screen.

Kawaki's eyes widened in recognition. "That's Ishiki! It's him—no doubt about it!"

"That's Ishiki?" Boruto asked, equally surprised.

"Yeah, but why would Kashin Koji and Amado want me to escape?" Kawaki murmured. Until now, he had thought the spaceship crash that allowed him to flee was sheer luck. To discover it had been planned was a shocking revelation.

On the screen, the argument between Ishiki and Kashin Koji escalated. Ishiki, exuding his usual authority, berated them for betraying the Kara Organization's mission to harvest the Chakra Fruit. He couldn't understand why they would turn against him.

Kashin Koji, however, remained defiant, stating that his mission was clear: to eliminate Ishiki.

Amado, in the interrogation room, elaborated on this as he addressed Naruto and the others. "From the very beginning, my objective has been to kill Ishiki. I worked under him to study his weaknesses and find the perfect opportunity. His recent battle with Naruto drained him significantly, creating the chance we needed to strike."

As the argument on the screen reached its peak, static interference disrupted the image. The video feed cut off, leaving the interrogation room in tense silence.

Naruto turned to Amado, shifting the conversation toward the Chakra Fruit. "If your goal was to kill Ishiki, why defect to Konoha? And why now?"

Amado leaned back, his expression calm. "It's simple: Ishiki is weakened, but not defeated. If Konoha doesn't act soon, he'll recover and return stronger than ever. My defection is your best chance at understanding his weaknesses and stopping him for good."

While the interrogation continued, Kirito analyzed Ishiki's abilities, replaying the brief battle scene in his mind.

Though the footage was blurry, the core elements of Ishiki's combat style were clear. As Naruto had described earlier, Ishiki relied heavily on his ability to shrink objects and restore them to full size at unexpected moments, creating deadly traps and attacks. Combined with his enhanced physical abilities and the ability to absorb ninjutsu through his Karma, Ishiki's fighting style was direct and devastating.

His style is similar to mine, Kirito thought. He's focused on taijutsu, supplemented by ninjutsu. But his abilities are far more adaptable in battle.

Kirito recalled his own limitations: while his techniques like Yomotsu Hirasaka (Huang Quan Biliangsaka) and World Governance (Gao Tianyuan) were powerful, they required precise timing and the right conditions to execute. In contrast, Ishiki could use his abilities seamlessly, making him a more formidable opponent.

Kirito's musings were interrupted as Amado continued speaking in the interrogation room.

"The Chakra Fruit contains immense energy and genetic information. Consuming it allows an Ōtsutsuki to evolve endlessly. They're a race that thrives on continuous evolution," Amado explained.

Standing outside the interrogation room, Boruto and Kawaki turned to Kirito, silently asking if what Amado said was true.

Kirito nodded. "He's correct. The Ōtsutsuki harvest Chakra Fruits to strengthen themselves, but not everyone in their clan has the right to consume them."

Hearing this, Katasuke, the scientist observing the interrogation, couldn't contain his curiosity. "Wait, are you saying there's a hierarchy within the Ōtsutsuki clan?"

Boruto introduced Kirito. "This is Kirito. He's an ally I brought in to help us fight Ishiki. And yes, he's an Ōtsutsuki himself."

"What?!" Katasuke gasped. He had seen the destruction caused by the Ōtsutsuki firsthand during the battle against Momoshiki and struggled to comprehend that Konoha would willingly work with one.

Yet his scientific curiosity quickly overpowered his shock. "If you're an Ōtsutsuki, does that mean Amado's information is incomplete? What more can you tell us?"

Kirito replied calmly, "Amado's statements are accurate, but incomplete. After the Chakra Fruit is harvested, it must be handed over to the clan's 'main family.' Only they have the right to distribute or consume it. Other Ōtsutsuki members are essentially expendable labor, tasked with planting and protecting the Divine Tree."

He continued, "The clan's ultimate goal is to consume all Chakra Fruits and achieve perfection, becoming the ultimate god of the Ōtsutsuki and ruling the entire universe."

The weight of his words left everyone stunned. Katasuke muttered in disbelief, "How could anyone have such a goal? It's impossible..."

"Impossible or not, they've been pursuing it for thousands of years," Kirito said. "Their technology and techniques are far beyond what you can imagine. Even the Karma mark on Boruto is a product of that technology."

Boruto clenched his fist. "We have to tell Dad—"

"Hold it," Kawaki interrupted, grabbing Boruto's arm before he could barge into the interrogation room. "Naruto's in the middle of questioning Amado. If you interrupt now, it'll just create more confusion. We can bring this up later."

Boruto reluctantly nodded. "Fine, but we can't waste time on this."

Back in the interrogation room, Amado elaborated on the relationship between the Ten Tails and the Divine Tree, as well as Kaguya's betrayal of Ishiki.

"Kaguya's ambush left Ishiki severely injured. He barely survived by taking over the body of a wandering monk—Jigen. That monk became his vessel," Amado explained.

Sasuke leaned forward, his Sharingan glinting. "If that's true, then the wedge on Jigen means Ishiki isn't dead yet. Where is he now?"

Amado smirked. "Sharp as ever, Uchiha Sasuke. But before I answer that... Hokage, I'd like you to formally approve my asylum application in writing."
