Naruto: The Tale of an Otsutsuki

Chapter 209: Chapter 209: Warm-Up

The moment Madara Uchiha spoke, the air inside the dark, cracked base grew heavy, the tension palpable.

Kirito stood his ground, his silver-white hair glowing faintly in the dim light. Although confident as always, he couldn't deny a rare flicker of excitement. This was Madara Uchiha—one of the most legendary figures in the history of the ninja world. Fighting someone of his caliber felt almost surreal, like a dream made real.

Yet Madara, for the moment, appeared disinterested in rushing into battle. Turning his head slightly, his crimson Sharingan fixed on Kabuto Yakushi, standing smugly to the side.

"Who are you? And what is your connection to him?" Madara asked coldly.

Kabuto adjusted his glasses, smiling faintly. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Kabuto Yakushi, an ally and collaborator of your… associate."

Madara's eyes narrowed. "How much do you know of me? Of our plans?"

"I know enough," Kabuto replied smoothly. "I'm on your side, after all."

Madara's gaze lingered on Kabuto for a moment longer before turning back to Kirito. "You claim to be on my side, yet this boy stands here as our greatest obstacle. A curious contradiction."

Kabuto raised his hands in defense. "I summoned you, Madara. I have merely set the stage. I'll leave him to you."

Madara frowned, raising his hands to form a summoning seal. The familiar markings of a Summoning Jutsu appeared beneath his feet, but the effort bore no fruit—no creature emerged.

"I see. The Nine Tails remains uncollected," Madara mused, his disappointment evident. "The plan has truly fallen into disarray."

Kabuto nodded. "That's why this war has begun—so we can claim the tailed beasts once and for all."

Madara sighed, cracking his knuckles as he shifted his stance. "Very well. I will deal with him first. I need to know how much trouble this boy can cause."

Kirito smirked, breaking his silence. "You done talking?" His voice was calm but sharp. "Let's get started."

Madara's lips curled into a thin smile.

Kirito clenched his fists and brought them to his chest. A silver-white aura exploded around him, chakra so dense it seemed to shimmer like liquid light. There was no hesitation—no holding back. Against Madara, there was no room for caution.

Madara's Sharingan spun rapidly, taking in the overwhelming chakra emanating from Kirito. "Chakra this refined… I haven't seen this since Hashirama."

Before Madara could analyze further, Kirito vanished.

Whoosh!

Madara's eyes widened as Kirito appeared directly in front of him, fist cocked back like a cannonball.

"So fast!" Madara thought, barely managing to raise his arm to defend.

BOOM!

The impact sent Madara flying backward, crashing into the stone wall with enough force to send cracks spiderwebbing out from the point of impact. Debris rained from the ceiling as Madara slowly pulled himself free, flexing his elbow and watching it crumble slightly.

"Not bad strength," Madara admitted, his voice betraying neither pain nor irritation.

Kirito didn't wait. With a burst of speed, he shot forward like a bullet, his chakra-charged body leaving streaks of light in his wake.

Madara spun in mid-air, planting his palm on the ground to stabilize himself. In one fluid motion, he twisted his body and lashed out with a kick.

Kirito's hand shot out, catching Madara's ankle effortlessly. Using the momentum, Kirito spun and hurled Madara like a ragdoll into another wall.

CRASH!

The walls groaned in protest as the room trembled from the sheer force of the throw.

From his vantage point, Kabuto watched in awe, sweat beading on his brow. The speed and power of their clash were incomprehensible. Even with Sage Mode, he struggled to keep up.

"This is insane," Kabuto murmured. "They're fighting on a level far beyond anything I've seen."

Madara emerged from the debris, brushing dust from his armor. His Sharingan flared ominously, evolving into a Mangekyo Sharingan.

"This will be interesting."

Madara shot forward, his speed now rivaling Kirito's as the two collided in a series of blinding exchanges. Fist met fist, kicks were dodged with inhuman precision, and every blow sent shockwaves rippling through the air.

Madara's Sharingan spun again, casting a subtle Genjutsu. The world around Kirito suddenly turned crimson, and massive iron nails pinned him to a wooden stake.

Kirito's eyes narrowed. "An illusion?"

With a flicker of will, the blood-red world shattered, dissolving into glimmering fragments. Madara barely had time to register Kirito's resistance before a fist slammed into his face, sending him skidding across the cracked ground.

"So… illusions won't work," Madara muttered, touching his cheek.

Rising to his feet, he quickly formed a series of seals. "Let's see how you handle this… Fire Style: Majestic Destroyer Flame!"

A massive wave of fire surged forward, roaring like a living beast as it engulfed the battlefield. The heat scorched everything in its path.

Kirito's body glowed with molten chakra as he responded, his fist igniting with lava.

BOOM!

Lava and flames collided violently, erupting in a blinding explosion. Molten rocks and embers spewed into the air, setting the surrounding forest ablaze.

Kabuto swore under his breath, grabbing Anko's unconscious body and fleeing as the base began to collapse.

In the center of the destruction, Kirito emerged unscathed, magma still dripping from his body.

Madara landed nearby, his expression unreadable. "You remind me of Hashirama, yet your power… it's something different."

Kirito raised his head, unbothered. "Done warming up?"

Madara chuckled darkly as his Susanoo flared to life. A massive, blue humanoid giant materialized around him, its four arms wielding glowing swords.

"Then let's take this up a notch."

One of Susanoo's arms formed a spinning ring of Yasaka Magatama—several chakra beads linked in a deadly formation. With a flick of Madara's wrist, the projectiles hurtled toward Kirito.

Kirito responded instantly. Golden lightning crackled around him as he formed a lightning spear, projecting it like a javelin at the incoming attack.

BOOM!

The resulting explosion lit up the sky, the shockwave tearing through the forest and sending smoke and debris spiraling into the heavens.

As the dust began to settle, Kirito hovered in the air, his white eyes glowing faintly. Below him, Madara stood atop his Susanoo, grinning with anticipation.

"Now the real fight begins," Madara said.

Kirito smirked, lightning crackling across his fingertips. "I've been waiting for this."
