Chapter 10: Chapter 11: The Guild's Future
-
"Now that we've finalized the layout of the Mall, let's move on to the Guild," Main Yuto said, shifting the focus of the meeting.
"As I mentioned earlier," Jenny chimed in, "the Guild should have a dark, ominous, and oppressive feel, something like the secretive organizations from the anime in your past life."
Military Yuto interrupted, "Yes and no." He paused, gathering the attention of everyone. "We should make only five Guilds like that—one for each of the five great nations. They can be dark and foreboding, designed to stand out and intimidate. But elsewhere? We need Guilds that blend into the environment, hidden in plain sight. We don't want them standing out like a sore thumb. Only those who need to know about the Guilds—like rogue or rebellious ninjas—should be aware of their existence."
Everyone nodded, understanding the logic behind keeping most Guilds low-key. Jenny then raised the next point, "But what about controlling the wandering ninjas? How do we handle them?"
All four Yutos spoke in unison, "Soul Coin System."
Military Yuto continued, "We'll make it like a contribution system. For instance, when someone completes a mission, the number of contribution points they receive will be equal to the commission we take from the mission. If they want, they can leave more of their earnings with us, earning additional contribution points in exchange for money."
He explained further, "Let me break it down. Say a mission is worth 1,000 Rio, and we take a 30% commission. That leaves them with 700 Rio, and they get 150 Contribution Points (CP). If they want to leave more money with us, they can exchange it for more CP—2 Rio equals 1 CP. On the flip side, they can convert CP to Rio, but at a lower rate: 3 CP for 1 Rio. However, they won't be able to do this freely. We'll impose limits on how much CP can be exchanged for Rio to maintain balance."
"And this system should only kick in after they've worked for us for at least half a year," Military Yuto added, "but they'll still earn CP equal to the commission we take from them, even during that period."
The room was quiet as the group absorbed the plan.
[Ding! Gaia's voice broke the silence, "What other uses will CP have besides exchanging them for money?"]
Assistant Yuto responded swiftly, "CP can be used for many things. We can provide treatments, specialized medicines, secret baths that enhance physical strength—similar to the methods the major clans use to bolster their descendants. They can also purchase weapons and tools. And most importantly, they can exchange CP for ninjutsus—up to A-rank. If they contribute new jutsus to the Guild, they can trade for one of equal rank or multiple of lower ranks."
He elaborated on the system, "For instance, if they provide a B-rank jutsu, they can receive either another B-rank jutsu or two C-rank jutsus. For every rank lower they choose, the number of jutsus they can receive increases."
The group nodded, realizing the value of such a system in fostering loyalty and increasing the Guild's power.
Jenny, ever practical, added, "We could also allow them to use CP to buy membership plans for the Mall. This would give them access to discounts on goods and premium services. And if they can provide us with rare resources, metals, or artifacts, they could receive either CP or money in return."
"Good point," Military Yuto agreed. "And let's not forget to create training floors in the underground levels of each Guild. Since we're already planning underground bases, we could dedicate a couple of floors to training. We could simulate different environments or create specialized facilities to help them refine their skills."
The meeting continued as they discussed every detail of the Guild's structure. Military Yuto outlined plans for secret missions, internal ranking systems, and how to gradually expand their influence without attracting too much attention.
