Chapter 14: Expedited Reporting
Chapter 14 Expedited Reporting
"lord Third, this is an urgent report from the ninja school. Please take a look."
In Hokage's office, a ninja gently opened the door and handed the documents to Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, who was handling official business. Though Hiruzen was nearing the twilight of his career, he still radiated an aura of authority and wisdom. He was smoking his pipe, thoughtfully examining a document.
Without glancing away from his current document, he took the report from the ninja school. However, a casual glance at the report caused his expression to shift dramatically. He set aside the initial document and delved into the report from the ninja school with keen interest.
"Three geniuses... Besides Uchiha Hirohiko and Hyuga Yukina, there's another one... Taki Kiba, that child!" The Third Hokage mused. In truth, he wasn't entirely surprised by Kiba's inclusion among the top-tier talents.
Previously, during the mission to rescue Hyuga Yukina, Kiba had demonstrated remarkable prowess. Hyuga Yukina's recounting of the events underscored Kiba's extraordinary capabilities.
Two children managed to kill a Jonin, even a severely injured one—an impressive feat. Typically, students from the ninja academy would be paralyzed by a Jonin's killing intent. Yet, rather than being immobilized, these two counterattacked and defeated the Jonin. Hyuga Yukina's exceptional aptitude was already acknowledged, but for Taki Kiba to withstand the Jonin's killing intent and orchestrate the defeat demonstrated a rare talent. This level of aptitude had only been seen in Jiraiya's disciple, Namikaze Minato, and in his own student, Orochimaru.
"Speaking of which, Minato and Kushina should be returning from their mission soon," the Third Hokage remarked, taking a contemplative puff from his pipe.
"The Third Hokage," the ninja assistant interjected, "I've always felt it was inappropriate to send Kushina-sama, a Jinchuriki, on such a dangerous mission."
Hiruzen shook his head, smiling. "With Minato there, nothing major will happen."
But internally, he sighed. If I hadn't allowed Kushina to accompany Minato, she might've yanked out my beard—or worse, my hair.
Reflecting on this, the Third Hokage subconsciously touched his hairline.
The ninja assistant seemed poised to argue further, but the Third Hokage redirected the conversation. "The Eight Trigrams Palm... The Hyuga clan has indeed produced a prodigy. To have mastered such a technique at this age..."
The Third Hokage let out a puff of smoke.
"And Hirohiko Uchiha with the Shadow Clone Jutsu..." The Third Hokage pondered, nodding thoughtfully.
"High-speed taijutsu, even the Chunin couldn't track his movements?" The Third Hokage's eyebrows rose in surprise. "A taijutsu genius? This child must have put in incredible effort."
Satisfied, the Third Hokage picked up the Hokage seal and stamped "approved" on the ninja school's report.
"Allow Taki Kiba, Uchiha Hirohiko, and Hyuga Yukina to graduate early."
"Master Hokage, I understand the other two, but this Taki Kiba..." The assistant ninja hesitated, frowning as he reviewed the report.
"You're concerned about Taki Kiba's background," Hiruzen surmised.
"Yes," the assistant nodded. "He's the son of a traitor. Allowing him to graduate early..."
"This child is innocent," the Third Hokage interrupted.
"But..." The assistant ninja still looked troubled.
"He grew up in Konoha. His father may have been a traitor, but he died when Taki Kiba was born. Kiba is just an orphan who grew up here," the Third Hokage said, a hint of regret in his eyes as he took another puff from his pipe.
The assistant ninja opened his mouth to argue but closed it. He too was an orphan, his parents lost in the Second Shinobi World War.
Yes, he's just an orphan.
"Understood," the assistant said, looking at the document and silently noting Taki Kiba's name.
"Good, send out the documents. These three will graduate tomorrow. As for their Jonin instructor..." The Third Hokage paused, pondering while puffing on his pipe. "Let me think about it. These three are exceptional and need an equally exceptional teacher. By the way, have Tsunade, Orochimaru, or Jiraiya returned yet?"
The ninja assistant shook his head. "The three Sannin haven't returned yet."
The Third Hokage exhaled another puff of smoke. "Alright, you go ahead. I'll keep thinking."
"Yes!" The ninja assistant left.
Leaning back in his chair, the Third Hokage began to deliberate, pipe in hand.
Meanwhile, Kiba was in the midst of intense training, sitting on a wooden post behind his house, sweat pouring down his face. He went through side kicks, punches, squats, and ran 10,000 meters around the house. The sun slowly set, and night fell.
After completing his daily training, Kiba didn't feel exhausted. It seems I'm getting used to these weights!
Kiba thought about it and formed a seal with his hands. The three gates in his body quickly opened, and as he completed the seal, the Eight Gates technique activated, transforming into the Eight Gates mode.
Earth Release: Earth Spear!
As always, he combined seal formation, Eight Gates mode, and ninjutsu. Observing the piercing earth cone, Kiba nodded in satisfaction.
Now, the conversion speed of Gate of Opening mode can be applied in actual combat, and I'm proficient in the Earth Spear ninjutsu.
Kiba repeated this training five times in a row, stopping only when fatigue set in. Constantly opening and closing the Gate of Opening mode was taxing, but it made Kiba more adept at using the three gates. He could now directly open the third gate.
With each practice session, Kiba noticed his physical strength increasing. Repeating the training three times had been too much yesterday, but today he managed five times with ease.
After resting for a while, Kiba took out Konoha's extra-large steamed buns and gnawed on them, then stood up again.
Next, I'll start practicing this technique! I wonder if I can use the chakra from the Eight Gates mode to perform it.
Kiba took a deep breath, activated the Eight Gates mode, and his quasi-Chunin-level chakra surged as he began forming seals.
If I can master this technique, my talent will truly be extraordinary!
