Chapter 213: Chapter 214: Dual Kamui
Chapter 214: Dual Kamui
Why go to such lengths to reclaim the Mangekyo? Is the power of Dual Kamui truly that overwhelming?
Panting heavily, Kakashi stared at the laughing Uchiha, confusion filling his heart.
Obito seemed to sense his doubts and let his laughter fade. "I should thank you, Kakashi. You've helped me sever my last chain."
There was a mark left on his heart by Madara—a method of control.
Kakashi didn't understand Obito's words, but he could feel the exhilaration emanating from him, and his face grew solemn. "You really won't turn back?"
"A pointless question."
Obito removed his mask, revealing two Sharingan. One of them, however, was only a three-tomoe Sharingan.
This was a three-tomoe Sharingan taken from Madara's corpse. It was perfect for using Izanagi to rewrite the damage to his heart.
As the three-tomoe Sharingan turned gray, the injuries to Obito's heart healed rapidly. In the blink of an eye, every wound vanished.
"Obito, this isn't what we agreed on." White Zetsu's true body emerged at Obito's feet, glaring at the healed heart with a grim expression. "Are you planning to betray Lord Madara?"
He had come to assist Obito in retrieving the Mangekyo because of Obito's message, but seeing the current scene, he felt he had been deceived.
Hyuga Fuji's strength was terrifying, and Konoha's future strength was equally daunting. They had all understood this, so no one opposed Obito's decision to reclaim his other eye.
But using Kakashi's hand to destroy Madara's failsafe?
This was outright betrayal, clearly displayed for all to see!
Obito didn't respond. He dug out the now-useless gray eye and pressed the Mangekyo into place.
Thanks to Hashirama's cells, the optic nerve quickly reconnected.
Once this was done, Obito finally turned his gaze to White Zetsu's true body. "I'm now the strongest in the ninja world. I can do whatever I want. Do you have a problem with that?"
A surge of powerful ocular energy radiated from Obito's eyes, creating an invisible pressure that caused White Zetsu's expression to shift.
How could a mere Mangekyo, even if both eyes were reunited, create such pressure?
Was this pair of Mangekyo as powerful as the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan?
Had Madara miscalculated again?
White Zetsu furrowed his brow but said nothing more. Silently, he sank back into the desert sands.
Madara's failsafe had been destroyed; nothing could change that now. The only solution was to resurrect Madara and let him deal with this himself.
Once White Zetsu disappeared, Obito turned his gaze back to Kakashi and Rin.
"One Seven-Tails, one Three-Tails. I might as well reclaim both now."
His tone was utterly domineering, as though he didn't see the two of them—or the thousands of ninjas around them—as threats.
Because he had the power to back it up. The overwhelming force of the world's strongest eyes now resided within him.
"Susano'o!"
A blue spectral figure emerged from Obito's body. In the blink of an eye, it transformed into a towering Susano'o, majestic and imposing.
With both Mangekyo, the conditions to activate Susano'o had been met. Naturally, Obito could now wield this destructive power.
If this weren't his first time using it, requiring some time to adjust, Obito was confident he could even activate a near-complete form of Susano'o.
But for now, that level of power wasn't necessary. The third stage of Susano'o was more than sufficient.
With a cold sneer, Obito unleashed the ocular power of both eyes. The Susano'o materialized two enormous black shuriken in its hands and hurled them at Kakashi.
A chill ran down Kakashi's spine as he quickly leapt aside to dodge.
The shuriken missed their target, embedding themselves in the desert without making a sound. Yet the area where they landed warped and distorted unnaturally before vanishing entirely, leaving behind two massive, perfectly round craters about three meters in diameter. Surrounding sand continuously flowed inward to fill the void.
Witnessing this, Kakashi's heart was gripped by shock. His earlier plan to use full Tailed Beast Transformation against Susano'o now seemed unwise.
The fully transformed beast form was too large and lacked agility. If hit by those bizarre shuriken, he would be killed instantly.
While Kakashi evaded, Obito controlled Susano'o's massive hand to grab at Rin, who nimbly dodged the attack as well.
But Obito wasn't in a hurry. He had just regained both eyes and wanted to use the battle to familiarize himself with the power of Kamui.
Next, Obito attempted to form a giant chakra blade, infusing Kamui's spatial distortion power into the blade's tip. He entered an unstoppable rampage, cutting down every ninja who dared approach.
Only Kakashi and Rin were spared, as Obito held back slightly to avoid damaging the Tailed Beasts within them.
Even so, both Kakashi and Rin were in dire straits.
The blade's tip, wherever it touched, twisted and disappeared into nothingness. Nothing could withstand it. This quickly extinguished any thoughts they had of approaching Susano'o.
One hit could be the end of them.
Obito occasionally replenished the blade with Kamui's power, savoring the battle. None of his opponents could last even a single exchange.
The surrounding ninjas, who had paused their own battles to focus on the chaotic interloper, found their efforts futile.
From a distance, Hozuki Gengetsu, who had refrained from intervening earlier, narrowed his eyes.
This was becoming troublesome.
Now that Obito had both eyes, he seemed capable of integrating Kamui's spatial distortion into his attacks, rendering them nearly unstoppable. The power of these Mangekyo Sharingan was proving incredibly problematic.
Direct confrontation wasn't an option.
With this realization, Hozuki Gengetsu issued a retreat order. "Get away from that Uchiha! I'll handle him!"
"Yes!"
Following the command, the ninjas disengaged from their battles and began withdrawing. Others, seeing this, also seized the chance to retreat, leaving Obito in an open space roughly a kilometer wide. Only a few confident in their strength stayed behind to face him.
"I almost forgot about you," Obito said, turning his gaze toward Hozuki Gengetsu and the others blocking his path. His eyes lingered on Gengetsu, and he smirked. "Earlier, I was wary of you. But now, things are different. You acted too late."
"That's not for you to say," Hozuki Gengetsu replied with a faint smile. "You still haven't found my real body, have you?"
"Hmph, so what?"
Obito was utterly dismissive. The massive sword of Susano'o lifted, its tip pointing at Gengetsu. "I don't need to defeat you. Reclaiming the two Tailed Beasts is enough."
Gengetsu glanced at Kakashi and Rin, who remained wary of him, then focused on Obito. "If you want that kid, take him. But if you think you can take my student, you're dreaming!"
Obito's tone was cold. "Then let's see if you can stop me."
He cast a brief glance in a particular direction before charging at Gengetsu.
Unlike the daimyo of the Land of Wind, Obito didn't let his newfound power go to his head.
He wasn't arrogant enough to forget the basics of strategy.
Without finding Gengetsu's real body, the battle could drag on indefinitely—and he had no intention of wasting time.
As this thought crossed his mind, Obito's Susano'o began to take on a more complete form, inching closer to perfection.
'Hyuga Fuji, don't let me lose face in front of my student. Lend me your power.' Gengetsu, ever pragmatic, didn't hesitate to request help.
If he had the option, why would he wait to be beaten like Kakashi or Sakumo?
Against a near-complete Susano'o, Gengetsu could protect himself but lacked the strength to safeguard others.
He had just made a bold declaration—there was no room to go back on his word.
