Naruto: The Hyuga Mastermind

Chapter 135: Chapter 136: Are You Kidding Me? How Do We Fight This?

Chapter 136: Are You Kidding Me? How Do We Fight This?

Watching as Hyuga Fuji instantly deduced their plan, Tobirama Senju wasn't surprised. He simply continued to maintain the barrier.

The Edo Tensei? He had countermeasures for that. The Flying Thunder God Technique? He had planned for it too.

But Hyuga Fuji's mastery over reincarnation techniques... that was something Tobirama hadn't yet figured out how to counter.

He lacked a simple, efficient way to destroy a soul.

And sealing carried too much uncertainty.

Instead of gambling on such methods, Tobirama chose a more decisive option: banish Hyuga Fuji to the Pure Land, permanently.

Of course, the cost was that he and his team would have to accompany Fuji into the afterlife.

What they had created was a massive reverse summoning formation.

Kinkaku and Ginkaku weren't just serving as chakra sources—they were the perfect "anchors."

The talismans Mu and Scorch had placed in their heads earlier served as new contracts, turning the two back into Edo Tensei pawns. But now, Tobirama held full control over them.

When all their chakra was drained, Tobirama would terminate their Edo Tensei and send their souls to the Pure Land. This would serve as the final step in activating the reverse summoning formation, which would drag everyone within the barrier into the Pure Land.

At that point, no matter how strong Hyuga Fuji was, returning to the living world alone would be nearly impossible.

"Breaking through the dimensional barrier requires an enormous amount of chakra," Tobirama explained coolly. "While maintaining the barrier, we can't contribute to the fight. But in 30 seconds, the reverse summoning will activate. Your time is running out."

The Second Mizukage, Hozuki Gengetsu, sighed with some dissatisfaction. "I was hoping to fight you myself, but if you can't last against this move, I guess it's over before it starts."

"Thirty seconds? We can handle that much," Mu said, rising into the air alongside the five remaining Edo Tensei shinobi. "Your chakra rivals Hashirama Senju's—we acknowledge your strength. Six against one. Don't say we're being unfair."

Under their watchful eyes, Hyuga Fuji chuckled. "Not bad for a technique. I've been meaning to visit the Pure Land myself. But unfortunately, its current overseer isn't too fond of me—probably due to the number of revived souls. Another time, perhaps."

The Pure Land has a ruler?

Tobirama narrowed his eyes in shock at this revelation, only to notice that Fuji's eyes were undergoing a change. His pupils began to shimmer, their color shifting toward an otherworldly blue.

At the depths of his gaze, a massive golden Tenseigan flickered into existence.

The colossal Tenseigan was complete.

Thanks to his connection with it, Fuji could now tap into its vast power at will. The overwhelming chakra Tobirama and the others had sensed earlier wasn't Fuji's—it was the Tenseigan's.

Fuji's personal chakra reserves still hadn't reached Hashirama's level, but the Tenseigan's power filled that gap easily.

"Instead of going to the Pure Land, how about joining me on a little trip somewhere else?" Fuji said casually, raising two fingers and smiling as if he had all the time in the world.

The moment the chakra extraction completed and the technique was about to activate, a spatial vortex appeared beneath Kinkaku and Ginkaku's feet.

Completely immobilized by the sealing talismans, the brothers fell through the vortex and vanished.

The Edo Tensei shinobi, who had been focused entirely on Fuji, realized what had happened too late.

Even Tobirama's usually composed expression froze in shock.

Fuji has another space-time technique besides the Flying Thunder God?

No, it must be a spatial dojutsu…

Looking at Fuji's eyes, Tobirama felt both surprise and an eerie sense of inevitability.

For years, the Byakugan, Sharingan, and Rinnegan had been considered the three great dojutsu. Even though the Rinnegan was a mere legend, and the Sharingan had its Mangekyo variant, rumors of the Byakugan hiding deeper secrets had persisted.

And now, it seemed those rumors were true.

The reverse summoning technique depended on Kinkaku and Ginkaku as both the chakra source and anchor points for its final step. Without them, what would happen?

If there were no anchor, the reverse summoning would default to a random dimensional transfer. Jiraiya's accidental trip to Mount Myoboku during his youth was a result of such a technique.

But this wasn't an ordinary reverse summoning—it was powerful enough to breach dimensional barriers. Without anchors, where would it send them?

Tobirama's gut told him that Fuji had a destination in mind.

"One of the three dimensional coordinates I possess is suitable for this trip," Fuji said as the technique activated. "Shall we?"

As the technique took hold, Tobirama's vision blurred. For a brief moment, it felt as if he were a child again, training alongside his elder brother Hashirama.

In this surreal vision, Hashirama smiled warmly, praising Tobirama's progress.

But it was an illusion.

Tobirama's sharp instincts quickly picked up on the inconsistencies. He weaved hand signs, dispelling the genjutsu.

As his vision cleared, Tobirama found himself in a strange new realm.

All around him, glowing green bubbles floated gently through the air.

Each bubble seemed to contain fragments of memories—some joyful, some sorrowful, others tinged with the scars of battle or the milestones of growth.

"These bubbles… they seem to show only our memories," Hozuki Gengetsu muttered, walking up beside Tobirama. The Mizukage frowned as he examined the strange surroundings. "So these are what trapped us in genjutsu earlier."

Clearly, Gengetsu had been observing for a while.

As a master of genjutsu himself, it wasn't surprising that he had managed to break free so quickly.

Seeing him here made sense.

Turning, Tobirama saw Mu emerging from another cluster of bubbles, his expression unreadable.

"It looks like we're the only ones who've broken free so far," Gengetsu sighed, glancing at the other shinobi still floating aimlessly in the sea of memories. "They'll stay like that unless we help them."

Tobirama and Mu shared a glance, their faces impassive.

Genjutsu manipulated the target's five senses to trap them in illusions. Skilled users could even disrupt the chakra flow in an enemy's brain.

Although Edo Tensei ninja retained their skills and memories, their bodies were reanimated corpses coated in dirt. This made them somewhat resistant to genjutsu.

But the fact that so many hadn't broken free yet suggested something else.

"They don't want to escape," Tobirama muttered.

Escaping meant facing Fuji once more—a prospect far less appealing than remaining in the relative comfort of the illusion.

Looking up, Mu noticed a massive vortex spiraling overhead, consuming the sky. Beneath it, Hyuga Fuji floated serenely, his palm outstretched.

From the vortex, tens of thousands of kunai marked with Flying Thunder God seals poured forth like a torrential downpour.

Mu's breath hitched. "A storage scroll on the other end of the portal, connected via space-time transfer? I take it back. Thirty seconds won't be enough to survive this."

With the sealing barrier gone, Fuji could once again use the Flying Thunder God.

Which meant they were now trapped in a storm of kunai, facing a master taijutsu user who could teleport at will.

Are you kidding me? How do we even fight this?
