Naruto: Summoning System

Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Shai-Hulud

A white hair man lay in the bed, trembling and convulsing. His hands were holding onto the bars on the side of the bed, eyes wide shot from the exhilarating pain. Sweat build up on his face, as his blue eyes seemed to take an even deeper shade of blue. The man roared in agony, banging his head against the bead.

His muscles seemed to move on their own like there were numerous worms eating him apart. His injuries opened, causing blood to explode like a torrent, drenching the white mattress and turning it crimson. The man kept screaming, eyes rolling. A ragged breath escaped from the man's mouth.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck."

The man kept screaming. He was grinding his teeth, almost choking on the blood that appeared in his mouth, for no apparent reason. The man had to turn his head to not choke on the blood, but that movement alone sent a spiral of pain across his body. Attracted by the screams, Nagato, who was stationed outside, rushed into the room.

"Blake! What the hell is happening?!" Nagato's hands were already on Blake, trying to stop the man from trembling. "Can you hear me?! Blake!"

Nagato kept shouting, but Blake didn't register his voice, for it seemed so far away. So out of reach. Blake grabbed Nagato's hands, gripping them with such intensity that a normal person's hand would have broken. Nagato scowled in pain, pushing chakra into the places where Blake was gripping him.

Only then did Nagato notice the torrent happening within Blake, as his muscles convulsed. Nagato narrowed his eyes, hearing the cracking of bones and the constant stream of blood. Yet, Nagato noticed something else as well. Blake's right hand, which Nagato thought he couldn't move anymore, was trashing around like it was new. Despite the blood, the myriad of injuries on Blake's body were closing in. They were healing.

Even though Nagato was not understanding what was happening, he realized that it was part of Blake's strange power. He remember the report where Blake had healed himself in the prison. Nagato's thoughts were disturbed by another roar from Blake, who was staring at the ceiling like there was some creature lingering above him.

"Keep pushing! Don't give up!" Nagato created two clones, each of them holding onto Blake, stopping him from falling from the bed. "You can do it!"

The words of encouraged struck Blake, and some clarity returned to his gaze. Suddenly, he roared, yet it was a different kind of shout. A shout of defiance. Nagato kept shouting and holding Blake, whilst the blonde haired man fought against the pain. And then, out of nowhere, Blake stopped moving.

Nagato stared at Blake, who spent a few more second looking at the ceiling. Blake's gaze moved towards Nagato and smiled. Then he mumbled something.

"What?" Nagato leaned forward.

"Water." Blake whispered, his breath ragged.

Without a second of thought, Nagato took out a water flask, which Blake drained to the bottom. Nagato's eyes were still concerned, but Blake gave him a nod. "It is fine now, Nagato. Thank you. I think I would have lost myself if not for you."

Nagato kept his gaze on Blake's cerulean eyes. "What the hell are you, Blake?"

Blake shook his head. "I am just but a mere man."

Sighing, Nagato looked at his body. "All of your injuries have been healed. Even the hand that we thought was a lost cause."

Blake glanced down at his body. The bandages had ripped from his body as his muscles expanded, and beneath them remained only scars. Blake's eyes moved towards his right hand, which was raised, intentionally. There was a nasty scar on his right arm now, but he could move it without any difficulty. "Good news for me." Blake smiled in relief.

"Does this happen every time you come back from that door? Or…does this happen when you get a new summon?" Nagato tried to make sense of the situation. "It looked like your body was transforming."

Blake nodded, not seeing the point of keeping this a secret. "Yeah, happens after I get a new summon. It hasn't been that bad though."

"But…" Nagato scanned Blake's body again. There was a new layer of muscle on Blake's body, which was much more robust. From the sight before, Nagato guessed that even Blake's bones had been fortified. Yet, the biggest change was the chakra, for it rippled much more intensely within Blake. In the end, Nagato didn't finish his sentence, not knowing what to say.

"Only through pain can we advance, right?" Blake kept his smile, finally regaining his control over the body. He could feet it – the exploding power that came with the transformation. He wanted to run and jump and fight.

Putting a hand on his forehead, Nagato sighed again. "You are a crazy man, Blake. Crazy and strange. I understand that you might not want to talk about your peculiar power, but I must ask…did you get a good summon?"

This time, Blake smiled like a pirate stumbling upon treasure. "Better than I expected."

Nagato smiled too.

Before he could ask another question, Blake stood up. All of the bandages fell to the ground, revealing his ripped body. His eyes gleamed with blue colour and Nagato squinted his eyes, seeing sweat burning on his body and turning into vapor. Blake nodded at him. "I will devise a plan by tomorrow. We shall strike Hanzo back."

Nagato nodded. "Thank you, Blake."

"No, thank you, Nagato. You saved me."

Nagato shook his head. "I didn't do much. It was all you. I can't imagine going through that agony." Nagato then turned around. "I will give you some time alone to take a breather and dress up. Lunch is going to be ready in an hour."

"I will be there." Blake flexed his right arm, feeling no restrictions in its movement.

Nagato left the room, leaving Blake alone, who performed a few abnormally high jumps. Then, he did a few push ups with ease. "This is great." Blake was shocked at how well his injuries healed. He opened the system.

Dice Of Summon: Recharging – 59 days, 23 hours, 21 minutes remaining.

"Am I happy?" Blake asked himself, breaking into a grin. "No, I am freaking excited!"

He had gotten Shai-Hulud as his second summon. A huge monster that spawns over a kilometer in length from one of his favourite stories, Dune. The creature was definitely a monster of another caliber, and Blake received huge power up from the 10% increase in attributes. Not only that, but since the worm was non-intelligent, or rather, it was simply operating based on instinct, it didn't have a wish!

He wouldn't even have to go to the other world, yet he didn't get another roll immediately anyway, for the dice seemed to need to recharge. It made sense. Nevertheless, Blake was extremely content with his roll, and his luck had seemed to help him finally. Thankfully, the worm didn't appear here, as the system notified him that there was not enough space. If it did, everyone in this base would get squashed, including him.

As for the skill that he had gained…

Blake willed the panel with Shai-Hulud to open.

-Character Interface-

Name: Shai-Hulud (The Great Sandworm)

Attributes:

Strength: A+Agility: C-Endurance: S+Intelligence: EChakra: SCharisma: DLuck: E

Passive Skills:

Resonance SenseSpice Melange AffinityScale Skin

Active Skills:

Earthquake RoarSpice Melange CreationChakra Burrow

Passive Skills:

[Resonance Sense]

Shai-Hulud can sense chakra, vibrations, and movements through the ground. It can detect hidden enemies or stealth users by feeling vibrations and chakra flow, making it nearly impossible to surprise or ambush.

[Sandtrout Creation]

The presence of Shai-Hulud naturally spawns Sandrouts. The Sandtrouts absorb and convert water and moisture into a form that is highly concentrated with chakra energy. They bind with moisture, forming a dense, drying region that eventually becomes a desert. The Sandtrout essentially "dry up" the land, creating a wasteland where Spice can form.

[Scale Skin]

Shai-Hulud's body is nearly invulnerable to most physical and elemental attacks, thanks to its scale-like hide. It can endure chakra-based attacks and elemental jutsu, making it nearly indestructible in combat.

Active skills:

[Earthquake Roar]

This ability sends out massive shockwaves through the expanse, causing tectonic shifts. The roar reshapes landscapes, opens giant sinkholes, and creates earthquakes that can change the course of entire battles. It is especially devastating in large-scale fights.

[Spice Melange Creation]

Shai-Hulud accelerates the creation of Spice around it, increasing the Spice field's size rapidly. This passive process feeds Sandtrouts, creating massive pre-Spice deposits and triggering Spice storms.

[Chakra Burrow]

Shai-Hulud can burrow deep underground and move through the earth with great speed. Using its vast chakra reserves, it can break through rock and stone, causing tremors and earthquakes as it emerges. This allows Shai-Hulud to ambush enemies or escape dangerous situations by disappearing into the earth before resurfacing anywhere on the battlefield.

Blake couldn't remove the grin from his face. The creature was a monster, and the possibilities were endless. It was like he had his own unique Biju, though no one in the world knew about it. Just like that, with one roll of the dice, Blake jumped onto the chess board with big players.

But that was not all. The worm was not only extremely powerful, but also had other uses. It could create spice, an extraordinary drug that heightened the scenes, improved strength temporarily and even gave an ability to see snippets of the future. For a shinobi in Naruto, it would be like experiencing a new world. Not only that, if Blake orchestrated everything well, he could create a monopoly over spice, get rich and live like a king!

"Alright, that's pushing it a bit." Blake stated, though the thoughts didn't escape his mind. He wanted something good, and got something extraordinary instead. "And, with Shai-Hulud, dealing with Hanzo doesn't seem so impossible now. If I plan everything well, we can…win."

Determination gleamed in Blake's eyes. Silently, he closed his eyes, feeling whatever there was to be felt. He concentrated. [Resonance Sense]. Blake didn't see anyone, yet he felt them. He could sense the ripples of people walking around, he could sense Nagato walking down the hall, he could sense Konan training in another room, he could sense everyone within their base, locating them easily.

Hell, he could sense people that weren't even walking. Their chakra infused feet sent ripples within the ground, and Blake could locate them easily. Expanding his vision, Blake pushed the skill to its limits. Despite the distance, Blake could feel people walking above them, unknowing that the Akatsuki were hiding beneath. He could sense the rain hitting the ground, creating little ripples as they connected with the cement.

It was like he had unlocked a third eye.

"Incredible." Blake stated. Now, the possibility of someone coming close to him without him knowing were zero. Hell, the parameter that he could cover with his skill was huge. And that was not all…once he practised with it, he would be able to detect skills that were coming from below before they even hit him.

It was almost scary. And great, of course. Best of all, his injuries had healed, despite having to go through an agony. He could move his right hand almost perfectly and his chakra reserves had increase slightly. His arsenal of attack has increased, and, at the same time, their survival became much more possible.

Blake's mind raced with ideas, taking into account all of the issues at hand. Hanzo the Salamander in pursuit, Danzo hiding behind the scenes and Obito awaiting the moment to make things worse than possible. It was a tough situation, but after the magical survival in the dungeon, nothing seemed impossible anymore.

Especially when you had a full team of scary, experienced shinobi that were going to do the killing for you.

"Alright, enough lingering, let's go and face them." Blake slapped his cheeks, quickly locating the attire prepared for him. A fully black gown with a hood, which covered all of his nasty scars. Blake flexed one more time, trying to appear as confident as possible(which wasn't the easiest thing to do) as he then left the room.

In a few minutes, Blake, was standing in front of the entrance into their DIY cafeteria, aided by comrade whose name Blake couldn't remember. Blake tried to check the time on his phone, but it was dead, for once and, maybe, for all. Taking a deep breath, Blake nodded at the guard and went inside.

The quiet commotion happening inside turned into silence. Immediately, everyone recognized Blake, his white hair and blue eyes, which contrasted his dark attire and a metal band on his shoulder. It was silent for a few seconds, before the hall exploded into a roar. Well, to be fair, it was fairly quiet anyway, since they were hiding.

"Blake!"

"The Unseen Death!"

"I was telling you he didn't just leave us when times got rough."

"I heard that he was heavily injured from whatever place he came back, he looks okay to me."

Blake heard a few more comments, but it was honestly overwhelming. Everyone was looking at him, and Blake spotted Konan, Yahiko and Nagato sitting on the ground in the corner. He wanted to rush towards immediately, yet everyone kept staring at him and their murmurs stopped. Now, they were just looking.

'They want me to say something.' Blake thought, not knowing how to feel. It was fair, he had just disappeared out of nowhere and now reappeared. They knew barely anything, for Yahiko, with Blake's advice, didn't share much with the rest of the group. They didn't know why they were hiding, why Hanzo was hunting them when their relationship wasn't even bad.

They wanted to know at least something, and it seemed that Blake was the person who was chosen to say that something. Blake gulped slightly, but didn't show his turmoil. He wasn't an expert on giving speeches. Hell, he didn't do that well in public talking. Yet, it seemed he didn't have a choice.

Yahiko nodded at Blake.

"Thank you for such a warm welcome, friends. I means more than you think." Blake stated, glancing at everyone within the room, as they stared at him, some of them clapping again. Clearing his throat, Blake continued. "I understand that you might in a bit of confusion with the recent events within the Akatsuki, especially since Yahiko didn't say anything, as per my request."

The ears perked up.

"While there is lot to say, I am going to keep this short and simple. Hanzo was not the hero or the person that you have imagined. He wanted to betray us, and he would have, unless the crucial intel that we have received." Blake turned serious. "I won't bore you with details right now, but we have attracted some attention from enemies, whom I personally wouldn't want to engage with. Yet, it happened, and now we have to deal with it."

The shinobi within the room murmured with each other, finally realizing the extent of the danger. The mood was getting worse, but Blake raised a hand. "Please let me finish." Blake put on his hardest expression, as everyone listened.

"My disappearance was the cause of this issue. I went on a exhibition to find something that would enable us to fight back and hopefully overcome this obstacle." Blake frowned. "It was difficult. It is a miracle I survived, and I have gained a new perspective on battles, as well as the danger of actually engaging in a fight. Not going to lie to you guys, I am glad I am just a mere strategist, killing is not my forte."

Everyone chuckled slightly.

"The point is – I did find that something. I found a way for us survive, perhaps even win. And now I am going to start devising a proper plan as soon possible. However, I still need your trust and commitment. This is not going to be a mission like others. Casualties are perhaps inevitable. Yet, I assure you, I did and will do everything in my capabilities to make this work."

The mood was getting back on, as some people began to bang their feet on the ground, which, to Blake third sense, was like a shockwave passing through his body.

"However, I can't just ask your to follow me blindly. I am not Yahiko, not a leader, so I can't force you to do something. Therefore, I will simply ask a simple question…do you trust me?"

More shinobi began to bang their feet on the ground, as some even shouted immediately.

"Do you want to get rid of Hanzo the Traitor and unite the Rain Village under the Akatsuki name?"

All of the shinobi were banging their feet on the ground, their faces resolute and fiery. They kept their mouths silent, but the silence was heavy. Blake felt their emotions, he could feel their fury with the resonations coming from the ground.

"Then we are going to fight." Blake took off his hood. "And we are going to win."
