Naruto: Starting with Snatching the Mangekyō Sharingan

Chapter 15: Chapter 15: A Bold Idea

As it turns out, the rumor about the Mangekyō Sharingan's ability to control tailed beasts isn't a myth—it's absolutely true. After implanting cells from Hashirama Senju, Uchiha Obito's ocular power became strong enough to control even the perfect jinchūriki, Yagura of the Three-Tails. Not even the mighty Nine-Tails escaped his grasp.

Akira hadn't implanted Hashirama's cells, so his ocular power wasn't on the same nearly-eternal Mangekyō level as Obito's. However, the Six-Tails was no Nine-Tails. And with the death of its jinchūriki, the Six-Tails, Saiken, was now in the wild—an unbound beast, free to be subdued by Akira's Sharingan.

After capturing Saiken with the Mangekyō Sharingan's genjutsu, Akira frowned, muttering,

"The chakra drain to control a tailed beast is... intense. This is only the Six-Tails. If it were the Nine-Tails, it'd break free in no time."

The Nine-Tails' power far surpassed that of the other eight tailed beasts, while ordinary Mangekyō Sharingan might handle the lesser beasts, the Nine-Tails was in a league of its own. By Akira's calculations, his Mangekyō could only control the Six-Tails for about three minutes before the genjutsu's grip would shatter.

"Three minutes... definitely not enough time to bring it back to Konoha," Akira mused, glancing at the massive beast in the crater. If Minato were here, he could potentially bring it back, letting Kushina seal it safely. But with things as they were, he was stuck in a difficult position.

"Should I kill it?" Akira considered, rubbing his chin. "Even that's a challenge. I can't create powerful ninjutsu in three minutes, and there's no guarantee a lightning jutsu would be enough to kill the Six-Tails…" His face tightened with indecision.

He could destroy the Six-Tails, true, with his left eye's Mangekyō ability, Kamui, he could obliterate it. But that would damage his Mangekyō, something he was reluctant to risk.

"Should I kill Saiken or let it go...?"

As he pondered, a green blur shot into view from behind—a figure radiating a vibrant aura.

It was none other than Might Duy.

With the Sixth Gate open, he moved with incredible speed, arriving first at the scene. He flashed Akira a bright grin, thumbs up.

"Young man, you've really done it this time!" he cheered. "To think even a tailed beast is no match for you—Sharingan is a fearsome kekkei genkai!"

Akira shook his head, his expression serious. "Duy-senpai, I can't hold it for long—three minutes, at most. You need to evacuate the injured as far from here as possible!"

"What?!" Duy's face darkened as he looked at Akira with a newfound intensity. "Understood. I'll go back and start moving them immediately."

With a burst of speed, Duy vanished, a green streak heading back toward Kakashi and the others.

"Jōnin Homon, Kakashi, we need to start evacuating the injured!" His voice carried even before he was visible.

"Uchiha-kun can only hold the Six-Tails for three minutes. We need to get everyone to safety within that time."

"What?"

Kakashi and his group halted immediately, processing Duy's words before sprinting toward the injured Konoha personnel. They had no time to waste, three minutes was a blink when evacuating the wounded, and they needed every second.

The tailed beast towered over them, a massive entity. Even if its movements were slow, it could outpace them easily, especially burdened with injured comrades. If the beast broke free, it'd be chaos, shooting Tailed Beast Bombs indiscriminately. Getting far enough away from its reach was their only hope.

While Duy and the others could retreat, Akira had to stay. If he left, Saiken would immediately break free of the genjutsu and go on a rampage.

"Damn it…" Saiken's struggles intensified, and Akira muttered a curse under his breath. "If only I'd had time to learn sealing jutsu…"

For an Uchiha, sealing jutsu wasn't an insurmountable challenge. With the Sharingan, copying techniques was easy, given time, he could master high-level sealing jutsu by carefully analyzing and practicing them. But the Uchiha Clan's focus was always on the Sharingan. Fire Release was secondary, and sealing techniques received little to no attention.

Since coming to this world over a year ago, Akira had wanted to study sealing, but battle after battle had robbed him of the time.

If he had the skill, he could seal Saiken into his own body, becoming a jinchūriki. With the Mangekyō Sharingan, he had no fear of the Six-Tails rebelling, a single look would keep it in check. The benefits of being a jinchūriki were clear—never having to worry about running out of chakra, for one.

Although Akira's chakra reserves were substantial, they couldn't compare to a tailed beast's.

"No way I'm leaving empty-handed. I've got it under control, letting it go now would be such a waste." Steeling his resolve, Akira moved behind Saiken, his hand sparking with lightning. A blue blade extended from his hand, slicing cleanly through one of the beast's massive tails.

With a wet crunch, a section of Saiken's tail fell to the ground. Akira quickly pulled out a sealing scroll and stored the tail within it. The scroll was an expensive, high-capacity sealing scroll, capable of storing living material, though its space was limited.

This was the largest scroll Akira had, enough to fit the four-meter section of tail he'd cut. If he'd had more scrolls, he could have taken more, but this was all he carried.

"What a shame. Such a massive beast—if only I could bring it all back." Akira sighed.

"Wait…" He paused, struck by a sudden idea. Looking at the snow-white beast before him, a thought crossed his mind. "If Uchiha Madara could contract the Nine-Tails and turn it into his summon, why can't I do the same?"

Yes—make the Six-Tails his own summon!

If he could form a contract, he wouldn't have to kill or abandon the beast.
