__________

The flat land behind the house.

Shino stretched out his hand and injected chakra into the body of the parasite. Under his control, the parasitic insect did not consume the chakra as it usually did but remained inside his body.

Next came the crucial moment—absorbing natural energy and achieving a balance with the chakra.

Shiki watched his work, and with a thought, his skin began to reflect like jade. He used the White Jade Gu. If the parasites got into trouble, he could intervene immediately. He also had the Nine-Leaf Vitality Grass as a backup.

The parasite was very small, so even if it got out of control, it wouldn't be too destructive.

Shino carefully controlled his chakra. As an insect controller of the Aburame clan, he had a close connection with parasitic insects and could theoretically control everything about them, including the chakra within.

But Shiki saw things differently. He simply treated the parasites as tools.

When the chakra came into contact with natural energy, Shino felt an indescribable sensation—danger and oppression.

He couldn't help but feel nervous. Balancing proportions wasn't as simple as it seemed; they had to be exactly 1:1.

Suddenly, Shino's eyes widened. Red lines appeared on the parasite's head. What was that?

In the next instant, he felt a surge of chaos as the parasite's body swelled and released a burst of energy.

It's over! Shino thought in shock.

But before he knew it, he felt himself flying backward as Shiki stepped in front of him.

With a loud bang, the ground shook.

"Brother?" Shino asked anxiously.

"I'm fine." Shiki replied calmly, not even looking at the explosion, "Go grab me a coat."

The blast had torn through the back of his clothes, but fortunately, the White Jade Gu had absorbed the impact.

"I'll be right back." Shino sighed in relief and ran back to the house.

Soon after, Shiki donned a new coat to cover himself. He looked at the hole left by the explosion and raised an eyebrow.

The power was impressive, comparable to a full-strength attack from an average Genin. It might sound underwhelming, but with tens of thousands of parasitic insects... well, who could possibly stand against that?

There's a saying—bugs are never truly exterminated.

"It failed." Shino said with disappointment, looking down. He had finally raised one, only for it to perish immediately.

"No, it wasn't a failure." Shiki said, spreading his hands to reveal twenty mutated parasitic insects.

"Thank you, brother!" Shino's disappointment vanished.

"Shino, don't you think this uncontrolled explosion could serve as your secret weapon?" Shiki suggested, smiling.

Shino froze, then his eyes lit up with excitement. He was only six and not even a Genin yet, but the explosive power of this parasitic bug could take down a Genin. It was an unimaginable leap in power.

"Let's call it Parasite Explosion." Shiki said casually.

"Okay." Shino readily agreed.

"Get familiar with these twenty parasites and review today's experience. We'll conduct another experiment tomorrow." Shiki patted his shoulder and headed for the bathroom.

His partially shredded clothing was rather uncomfortable.

After a bath, Shiki bid farewell to Shino and returned to the old Senju house. As he practiced the Palm Immortal Technique, he pondered a pressing question—how to rescue Karin.

Although Kusagakure wasn't as formidable as the five great villages, it wasn't a place a Genin could enter casually.

Shiki had two options. The first was to inform Tsunade. If she knew that members of the Uzumaki clan were still suffering, she would surely want to rescue them. But there were complications—like whether Sarutobi Hiruzen might intervene. The Uzumaki clan members were ideal Jinchūriki candidates, and Hiruzen probably wouldn't let that go.

Furthermore, Shiki couldn't easily explain how he knew about Karin, nor did he want anyone else learning of Tianqu's existence just yet.

The best approach would be to bring Karin to Konoha and let Neji arrange matters. Despite his young age, Neji held significant influence within the Hyuga clan as the son of Hizashi.

The second option was to hire a ninja or an organization. In the early stages of the plot, even the Akatsuki needed to complete tasks for money. Zabuza's story in the original series made it clear—even vicious traitors wouldn't harm their employers until absolutely necessary. With enough money, rescuing Karin would be feasible.

Shiki continued to weigh his options. The upcoming trip to the Fire Nation metropolis next week was especially crucial. But who could he sell to? A daimyo? No, the Daimyo and Hokage were too closely connected. It'd be best to find a noble or a wealthy merchant.

Monday morning.

After breakfast, Shiki stepped outside. It was already February, and Konoha's weather was gradually warming as the winter chill faded.

"Have you heard?" He overheard as he walked into class, "Mizuki-sensei was arrested."

"Why?"

"They say he instigated Shinnosuke to 'teach our class a lesson.'"

"Oh, thank Sasuke-kun!"

As Shiki entered the classroom, he caught the unexpected news. In the original timeline, Mizuki had been apprehended much later. Was this the result of his butterfly effect?

Shiki returned to his seat, contemplating Mizuki's fate. A beautiful girlfriend? No, he had no intention of pursuing that route.

"Shiki-kun!" A soft fragrance drifted over him. He looked up to see Ino's bright golden bangs shining.

"Good morning." Shiki greeted her.

Ino held out a small lunchbox, "Try the flower rice balls I made myself."

"Did you use Moon Orchid?" Shiki asked, glancing at the food.

"Of course not!" Ino quickly shook her head, blushing, "I wouldn't have the heart to use such a rare flower for rice balls."

Realizing her awkward phrasing, she added, "I mean, it'd be a waste to use something so special just for snacks."
