NOVEL NEXT Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Chiyo's Order to Kill
Upon returning to the camp, Chiyo was confronting Danzo Shimura. Chiyo, the old crone, had led an elite force of eight hundred puppet warriors, while the camp held barely five hundred ninjas, most of whom were injured, and the old scoundrel prioritized targeting medical ninjas.
The initial retreat seemed genuine, but after withdrawing, Chiyo contacted Hanzo again, having received reliable information that Jiraiya, Tsunade, and others had returned to the village. The plan was simple: Hanzo would keep Gu Xingxi and the others occupied at the front, while Chiyo led an elite squad to raid the Konoha camp, targeting the remaining injured ninjas and medical staff, and seize the opportunity to kill Danzo Shimura.
Hanzo's strategy was to use five hundred lower and middle-ranking Rain Village ninjas as cannon fodder while Chiyo's forces aimed to exterminate everyone left in the Leaf Village camp.
Upon learning that Gu Xingxi, Uchiha Setsuna, and others were engaged in combat with Rain Village ninjas, Chiyo immediately mobilized her troops to launch a full assault on the Leaf Village camp.
In a reckless charge, she made a beeline for the camp, focusing on the injured and medical ninjas.
Danzo Shimura shouted, "You old hag, you will pay for your actions!" Chiyo retorted, "I'm not afraid of the consequences of my actions."
Danzo, transformed into the seductive Sun Brother, unleashed, "Wind
Release: Vacuum Serial Jade," firing bullet-like attacks at Chiyo, who quickly shielded herself with her puppets.
Chiyo's original group of ten close puppet warriors had mostly been
destroyed by Tsunade and Gu Xingxi in a previous battle. She was now using a new set of ten, which she had faced off against Scorpion.
After blocking the attack, Chiyo commanded, "Combine jutsu, grand-scale Wind Release!" On her command, the Sand Village ninjas summoned weasels.
"Wind Release: Great Weasel Technique," sent countless weasels flying towards the Leaf villagers, their sharp wind attacks slicing through the lives of the Leaf ninjas like blades. These fierce attacks were not something a group of injured Leaf ninjas could withstand.
Seeing this, Danzo Shimura was in agony. Winning this battle would bolster his reputation as the commander and aid his bid for the position of the Fourth Hokage. But Chiyo's actions threatened to turn him into a villain in the annals of history.
The loss for the Leaf was tremendous, and the public would not accept a Hokage under whose watch the village suffered such losses.
Meanwhile, in the camp, Gu Xingxi's shadow clone was hastily maneuvering the 3D Maneuver Gear, trying to escape with Nishimiya, an injured Minato, and a lightly wounded Tobirama Senju in the opposite direction.
Once the shadow clone was destroyed, Gu Xingxi knew they had to flee. Minato was already injured from the last battle, and his attempt to save others had only resulted in further injuries. Tobirama, with practically no close-
combat ability, was also hurt and could not stand against the puppets.
Thus, Gu Xingxi's shadow clone could only flee with the three of them. Chiyo, fixated on killing Gu Xingxi, whom she hated enough to haunt her dreams, ordered, "Chase down Gu Xingxi and those three, that's only his shadow clone, don't be afraid. Avenge our kin who died by his hand!"
Danzo Shimura, furious, roared, "Everyone who can move, counterattack.
Hold the front until our ninjas return. Since they don't want to leave, let's not let them."
Danzo needed to kill Chiyo here to mitigate the losses of the Leaf. He blocked Chiyo's path, "You wretch, you're not getting through."
Chiyo, realizing she couldn't advance, commanded, "Everyone, chase down Gu Xingxi."
Danzo countered, "Everyone, stop them."
As Gu Xingxi continued his rapid escape using the 3D Maneuver Gear, carrying three people slowed him down, and soon the bloodthirsty Sand Village ninjas caught up.
Knowing capture was imminent, Gu Xingxi forcefully threw Nishimiya, Minato, and Tobirama forward, urging, "Run!"
As they were propelled forward, Nishimiya and Tobirama helped an injured Minato continue to flee.
Gu Xingxi turned and summoned his Raijin Spear to block the Sand ninjas. The spear's successful deployment temporarily halted the first wave of pursuers, but the explosion also destroyed Gu Xingxi's shadow clone.
