Naruto: Snow Cold

Chapter 21: Business

During the following days, I practiced some wall walking and also took a small break from physical training. I do not possess the mindset to go through that every day just yet. I don't understand how people can continuously train like this every day and not lose motivation. Sure, threats like Madara Uchiha and Kaguya Otsutsuki are going to arrive in the future, but that's still years away. I don't have to worry about them for now.

My dad helped me prepare quite a massive batch of ice cream bags (like eight, and they're full, completely filled to the brim), which we kept nice and cool in an even bigger container filled with ice and salt. Then we departed toward the Akimichi compound.

I can't help but get excited about the money I will soon gain. What will I spend it on? Will I just save it? Ah, I'd really like to start Rasengan training! So many things to do when you've got the power of money.

We were greeted by the guards. My dad talked a bit with them and spoke about our product (technically "mine," ha), and that we were willing to negotiate. He gave them a bag as a sample, along with some plastic spoons. This convinced them, and they allowed our entrance.

We entered the interior and waited in the... VIP room? I think? We waited a few minutes, and then... someone came through the door. A tall, plump man with long, red spiky hair flowing down his head, his eyes somewhat closed, and purple markings on his cheeks, along with his wife, who was holding a baby. Chouza Akimichi and Chouka Akimichi.

(A/N: I don't know the actual name of Choji's mother, so I'm going with Chouka. Please forgive my poor naming sense!)

That one should be Choji. I suppose he's still a baby. The man spoke up, his mouth slightly salivating, "Greetings, my good friend Jun. I heard you're here to negotiate about a new dessert, is that correct?"

"Yes, Chouza-san. It has been confected by my daughter, and I merely helped with the production process," Jun said, his tone humble, with a hint of pride.

The rather large man looked at me, as if analyzing my posture. "Most impressive, indeed. May we have a taste?" He couldn't hold back anymore. I'm going to make so much money out of this sheep!

"Of course, here you go." He pulled out two of the bags and handed them both to the chubby duo, and I grinned as I gave them some utensils to eat with.

...

Nothing needed to be said. Every single bag disappeared and Jun haggled with Chouza for a while, before finally agreeing that 10% of the proceeds would go straight to our family, and an extra 5% toward me after agreeing to hand over the recipe to the Akimichi Clan. Hahaha, easy money, baby!

We walked away with five stacks of cash, each one having ten bills, individually worth 1000 ryo each.

50,000 ryo! We are freaking rich!

We kept strolling through the streets of Konoha, enjoying the atmosphere around us. He voiced:

"Amai, how about we go have Ichiraku for lunch?"

"I'd love that!" I exclaimed. Ramen doesn't sound so bad right now, after all that hard work.

"Oh yeah, on the way, let's grab Hikari a gift. We can't return home empty-handed after all of that, can we?"

"True."

We chuckled and went off to Ichiraku, which was just a few minutes away. He ordered lunch for us...

I feel like my appetite is growing. Could it be that I'm developing? I ate a bowl and a half, and my dad ate the rest.

After a hearty lunch, we headed to the nearest bakery and bought a few different cake slices. Vanilla. Strawberry. Orange. Cheesecake. No chocolate in sight... What a disappointment. I'll try growing cocoa beans by myself in the future.

We packed those up and took off to get another gift. This time, we went to a flower shop. Jun and I walked in, being greeted by the florist. It's one of those famous Yamanaka shops! Inoichi Yamanaka... Probably the fourth canon character I've seen so far, besides Hiruzen, Kakashi, and Iruka.

"Good evening, what can I get for you?" he said with a gentle tone.

"Evening! May I get, uh... a bouquet with a mixed arrangement of Tsubaki, Sumire, and Bara flowers?" he asked, as I clung onto his leg, somewhat nervous. I was able to at least stand straight near Chouza only because it was about something I loved—food. But socialization? Talking? I can't handle that!

"Right away, sir," he said enthusiastically. "By the way, is she your daughter?"

"Yes, indeed she is. Go on and tell him about you, Amai," Jun patted me on the back. Why?!

I stepped forward and took a small breath, before saying, "Hello, my name's Amai. A pleasure to make your acquaintance."

"So polite for being so young. You taught her well."

My dad was slightly taken aback, sheepishly putting his hand behind his head, rubbing it as he stuttered a little, "A-Ah, yes, she's homeschooled, haha!"

I really hope Inoichi has the ability to read him through his bodily reactions like this prick does.

They talked for a while, and in total, everything—including the cake—amounted to a grand total of... 450 ryo. Not really much of a dent in our budget.

We got back home after so long, being received with open arms by Hikari. Jun told her about the news and presented the money in front of her.

She immediately lifted me up and showered me with words of praise as she tightly hugged me. Still strong, but it doesn't hurt as much as before. Slightly less, I suppose? The training is paying off. Although this is nice... I'm tired of getting lifted up like a child. I really am.

She then let go and pulled my dad in for a kiss. Someone's gonna die from snu snu tonight, eh? Hope they don't make too much noise.

I'm definitely stocking up on balloons and rubber balls tomorrow.
