Naruto: ROOT Symbiote

Kidnapping Mukai's son was too easy.

Ichi was informed about the address, and she didn't have to carr about the aftermath.

After she delivered him to Danzo, she went to her room and found her new teammate.

"Hello! I am Aburame Kiku! I just became a chunin and joined ANBU."

Aburame Kiku, a 15 year old Aburame girl, having a really strange behaviour if compared to other Aburame.

For most people, ROOT seems to be just a division of ANBU with Danzo as a captain.

Most of the ROOT recruits who weren't recruited as kids assumed that it was ANBU they were joining. Their designation is also kept secret from the clans.

Hungry...

Ichi's symbiote growled in her head. It had been starved for too long.

So, to an unamusing girl who was wondering why such a cute a young girl is in ANBU, Ichi suddenly attacked her with numerous tentacles.

"Hey! Is it some sort of test!?"

Kiku shouted in surprise as she parried the tentacles with a kunai.

But, Ichi got a new idea suddenly.

Her symbiote tentacles, suddenly swallowed the Kiku's kunai.

All the Shuriken hurled at her was also easily swallowed.

Ichi was fighting an Aburame for the furst time in her life, but after having eating a strong Yamanaka, her symbiote has gained good sensory abilities.

Ichi pinned down Kuki on the floor, and her symbiote protected her from the insects.

Her face covered with the symbiote to form a monstrous mouth.

"Thanks for the meal."

She said cutely, before chopping off Kuki's head.

As she chomped on the delicious brain, all the insects in Kuki's body attacked her.

But, the symbiote just ate them all.

Ichi was too hungry to care about the protocols that she should first defeat her roommate in a ninja spar before being allowed to eat.

Still Hungry...

Ichi nodded and ate the rest of the body. Even the blood and bones weren't left.

Danzo, who was looking at the scenes of the room, or cell to be exact, from his room via a camera, watched in fascination as something strange happen.

Just like the Aburame, symbiotic insects came out of Ichi's body.

These insects flew and started attacking all the other rooms. Killing the other kids.

These symbiote insects entered the bodies of the kids of her batch who are yet to reach the strength of a genin, and started consuming them from within.

"Danzo-sama, should I stop-"

"No. She isn't attacking the superiors."

Danzo still needed to know more about this mysterious Kekkai Genkai.

Back at the secret base, Ichi's symbiote insects consumed the kids from within, leaving only their brains.

The symbiote could eat the brain as it is, but eating from Ichi's mouth brings the most satisfaction and calms its hunger.

'Just absorb them and bring them to me.'

She said to it, and the symbiote insects started bonding to the brains.

Then, the brains were shrunk to the smallest size possible, and flown to Ichi's cell.

As the feast was before her, she chewed on them and gulped them one by one.

As she did, the chakra from the people she killed was also converted to align to hers, and that chakra flowed into her body, increasing her reserves.

It wasn't efficient. She could barely extract 1% of the chakra of the people she ate. But it did make her stronger.

Her symbiote doesn't have chakra of its own.

After eating her 100th brain today, she finally felt full.

All her symbiotic insects went back into her body.

The DNAs of the kids weren't really special. So her symbiote didn't evolve much.

Even the Aburame girl didn't have a special DNA.

But Danzo, after watching her symbiote mimicking the insects, grew curious.

He went to the lab, where some cells of her symbiote were violently thrashing in a test tube.

"Give some Hashirama cells to them."

He ordered one of his scientist.

The scientist obediently followed the order, and first extracted a sample of cells from the cultivated tissue of First Hokage.

Then, he carefully placed the small batch of cells in an observation container.

Then, he put the test tube containing the symbiote cells into the observation container as well.

Danzo observed the result.

The purple symbiote cells first surrounded the Hashirama cells and covered the cell walls.

Unlike other normal human cells, Hashirama cells also have cell walls. Just like a plant.

These cell walls are incredibly durable, but the purple symbiote cells managed to infiltrate one cell.

Danzo watched in amazement as the other purple symbiote cells, with the golden nuclei, mimicked Hashirama cells.

And then, sucked out the vitality of the original Hashirama cells and rapidly multiplied.

The cells killed and absorbed Hashirama cells! And multiplied more rapidly while maintaining the same structure as Hashirama cells!

"Impossible!"

Danzo shouted, not believing what he was seeing.

Even viruses can't penetrate Hashirama cells! No cells has ever even broken through the cell walls.

And these symbiote cells replicated Hashirama cells, and killed them!

That's insane!

"Bring Ichi here!"

He barked, and his ninja appeared with Ichi in tow some moments later.

She didn't resist, didn't disobey orders from her superiors. She didn't even think about attack.

In fact, she was afraid of getting scolded by Danzo-sama. She held her curiousity about her symbiote cells that she could feel inside the containment, violently thrashing and wanting to return to her.

"Get inside this pod."

She obediently went inside the pod, and a scientist cautiously poured some of the new symbiote cells inside the pod.

Danzo watched in amazement as just after coming in contact with the Hashirama-symbiote cells, all symbiote cells in her body mimicked and became like Hashirama's.

They then invaded her human skin cells they were connected to and began combining.

Yet, Ichi didn't thrash around. Her vital signs were perfect. As if this transformation didn't hurt her even one bit.

Her skin colour also didn't change one bit, unlike those turning completely white with new implantation.

Tenzo has become ghostly white, and only after one year did his skin changed to a shade like Hashirama.

"Open the pod."

"But sir, she might infect the place-"

"Just do as I order!"

Danzo didn't have the caution of a scientist.

If a virus epidemic spread into the world, it most likely would have started because of him.

The scientist still cautiously opened the pod, already having made up his mind that he is dying today.

But nothing happened.

Ichi just came out of the pod, emitting immense purple chakra from her entire body.

"Follow me."

Danzo led her to a training facility.

"Now try to grow a tree."

She thought about it for a while, and pressed her hands on the ground.

Purple trees with golden leaves started growing all around.

While the colour wasn't normal, it was definitely Wood Release!

And it was way better than Tenzo!

Danzo became excited.

If he can somehow get these symbiotic cells to live in harmony with his own, he will become invincible!

It seems that Sage of Six Paths has really sent her to Danzo for achieving true peace!

"Ichi, from now on, you will directly train under me. And start researching about your Kekkai Genkai. You will get all the brains you want."

Afterall, leaving her starved will slow down the research.

Ichi became excited as she wasn't scolded, but made direct disciple of Danzo-sama!

"As you wish, Danzo-sama. I wouldn't disappoint you!"

Danzo smirked as he saw her so happy.

Danzo didn't kill the emotions of his spies and scientists, unlike the foot soldiers. He just replaced their emotions with fanaticism for him.

The more fanatic they are, the harder they work for his approval.

Afterall, he is the only one whose face is visible to them. They can't even see their own face.

He patted Ichi's head as if he is a loving father.

"Do your best, alright?"

"Yes!"
