Naruto: Reborn as Zoro

As planned, the next day, Zoro has a sparring match with Kakashi's team. They do it in the forest, in the part where the trees have been cut down to build the bridge. So there are many tree stumps there.

People are coming to watch it, including Hiyori and Granny Suzu. They want to see how these shinobi fight because most of them have never even seen any shinobi.

Zoro doesn't use his real swords and only uses wooden swords. They should be enough to be used against these newbies even with Kakashi leading their team.

"Huh? Wooden swords?" Naruto frowns when he sees Zoro holding a pair of wooden swords.

"He underestimates us." Sasuke is displeased by this.

"Don't take it lightly, Naruto, Sasuke. Even if he uses random sticks, he is still a very dangerous opponent. Instead, if he uses his real weapons, then we won't last even a second."

Kakashi knows that Zoro only uses wooden swords and only 2 at that because it's already enough to defeat them. But he doesn't want to defeat them too quickly, that's why he does this.

In Kakashi's mind, this might be a good chance to teach his team more things about fighting as a team. This is actually much better than fighting Zabuza because at least Zoro won't try to kill them, although he will beat them up quite badly.

Kakashi also takes this sparring very seriously from the start. He immediately opens his eye cover and uses his sharingan. There's no way he won't be serious when fighting Zoro, after all.

"Alright, come to me, newbies." Zoro taunts them with his fingers while smirking.

The sparring match has started and Kakashi immediately throws some shurikens at Zoro who then blocks all of them with a wooden sword while smirking.

Meanwhile, Naruto creates some shadow clones which makes Zoro wonder how he learned it. In the original, Naruto stole the scroll containing shadow clone jutsu after failing the academy graduation test.

But it's highly unlikely for him to fail and even steal a scroll from the Hokage office when he still has his parents now. He has people to take care of him and even teach him ninjutsu.

Zoro thinks that the reason Naruto fails in the academy was because he wasn't taught properly because Naruto can perfect Sage Mode in a relatively short amount of time which even Jiraiya failed.

That means he actually has similar talents and intelligence as his father who can also perfected the Sage Mode. After all, he is the reincarnation of Asura and Hashirama, so he must be talented despite not being so smart.

Besides, there's no way Minato and Kushina won't teach their son properly. So maybe Minato realized that Naruto had a hard time controlling his massive amount of chakra and taught him shadow clone jutsu instead of normal clone jutsu that needed more delicate control of his chakra.

If he thinks about it like that, then it really makes sense and he is actually right. Though it was mainly because of Kushina who is also a Jinchuuriki and still has half of Kurama sealed inside her.

She knows how difficult it is to control her chakra because of Kurama's chakra mixed with hers, so she knows Naruto must have the same problem. Both her and Minato surely tried to find a solution and teaching Naruto Shadow Clone Jutsu instead of normal Clone jutsu is one of them.

While Naruto creates some shadow clones, Sasuke also prepares his jutsu. He uses the Uchiha signature technique, the Great Fireball Jutsu which he shoots at Zoro quickly.

As the big fireball flies, Naruto and his clones run behind it. Zoro pokes the big fireball with a wooden sword and it gets destroyed easily. Even Kakashi is surprised by this, not to mention the genins.

Naruto and his clones don't stop though. They still charge toward Zoro and attack him from all sides. But he easily beat them up using just the wooden sword in his right hand without using the other one in his left.

Shadow Clone jutsu actually surprises Zoro quite a bit. All of the clones really felt like real people when he hit them and he also senses each one of them as an individual because when facing normal clones, he can't sense anything from them because they are just illusions.

When Zoro kills Naruto's clones, Kakashi and Sakura flank him from both sides. Sakura throws a kunai that has been tied with wire at Zoro's legs. The wire ties his legs tightly, so he can't move his legs.

Then Kakashi comes from the other side with his Raikiri. They have planned this quite well. It was the reason why Kakashi asked for the sparring match to be done now, so that he could make a strategy for his team.

"Not bad, Kakashi. You do well even with such an inexperienced team. But you know this won't be enough."

Zoro waits for Kakashi to get very close before he suddenly jumps high. He times his jump to make Kakashi's Raikiri hits the wire that wraps his legs. Of course, he coats his legs with armament haki or the Raikiri will cut his legs.

Even Kakashi is surprised by this move because he didn't predict Zoro would make such a crazy move. His attack ends up breaking Zoro's legs free. He thought Zoro would jump away or at least cut the wire with his swords, not using this kind of move.

Zoro then swings his sword at Kakashi's head while he is still high in the air. Kakashi sees the sword coming with his sharingan and jumps back to avoid it. He knows better than to just duck down because then Zoro's light swing creates an invisible slash that breaks the ground.

"Hoh, you sure have learned, Kakashi. I made sure to make that attack blunt so your head won't get cut. But it should be strong enough to knock you out, so you do the right thing by moving backwards."

"You sure it won't break my skull?" Kakashi doesn't believe that it will only knock him out because even the ground is being broken quite badly.

"What's the big deal? You can always ask old lady Tsunade to heal you." Zoro shrugs his shoulder as he lands on the ground.

"But she is not here."

"..... Oh, right. Now this is troublesome." Zoro scratches his head with his left hand while his right hand is thrusting a sword at Naruto who just charges at him.

Sasuke also throws a kunai that has a paper bomb on it, but Zoro flicks it up with the same sword, so it explodes in the air. He does it without even glancing at them because he is still talking to Kakashi.

"Come on, kids! You can do better than this." Zoro smirks as he finally looks at them.

The 3 genins and Kakashi keep attacking him from all sides, but he easily fends them off with his wooden swords that somehow are hard enough to even block their sharp kunais and shurikens.

But then, Kakashi uses his Raikiri again, so Zoro needs to coat his swords with Armament Haki. The 3 genins are surprised to see the swords turn black.

"What happens to his swords? They suddenly become shining black?" Naruto looks at the swords warily.

"Must be his jutsu, be careful of it. We don't know its effect." Sakura warns her teammates.

"Don't worry about the black coating! It's his jutsu that hardens his weapons and body. It's not an offensive jutsu, but something more like armor. He uses it on his swords so they won't break. Aim at the unprotected parts of his body." Kakashi quickly explains it to his team because he already saw Zoro's jutsu so many times.

But it's one of the few jutsu that still confuses Kakashi. He is known as the copy ninja because of his ability to copy jutsu using his sharingan and he is much better at it than anyone in the Uchiha clan for now.

Yet, he can't copy Zoro's Armament Haki. Heck, he can't even see the chakra used for this "jutsu". It's not just him. Even someone like Fugaku Uchiha and Hiashi Hyuga can't see the chakra used on this "jutsu", which really confuses them.

Well, it's because Haki doesn't use chakra, so they won't see it no matter what they do. That's why Zoro is never afraid of using his Haki in front of anyone because he knows no one can copy it.

Even Torao told him that this Haki ability is exclusive to him and his descendants because it's tied to his genetics. It's a hereditary ability, so other people without any blood ties to him won't be able to learn it.

Anyway, the fight has gotten boring for Zoro because they still can't give him a good fight. These kids are still new graduates from the academy, so they don't have that many skills yet and surely they won't give him a good fight in their current levels.

That's why Zoro decides to make this more interesting. He throws away his wooden swords after pushing them back. Then he coats his opened palms with Armament Haki.

"Alright, let's fight you bare handed because it's getting boring. A swordsman fighting without any swords, that's such a big handicap I'm giving you, so don't disappoint me." Zoro smirks to start the 2nd round.
