Naruto: Path towards Godhood

Chapter 5: Passing and Guidance

"We..... We are inside an illusion. Impossible! My Sharingan should've been able to detect it." Ken shouted in absolute shock when he saw the illusion being lifted.

The fireball he released slowly disappeared, and the feeling of losing his Chakra vanished as if it never existed.

"Congratulations! Although you didn't break out of my Genjutsu, you did force me to reveal it. And that is more than enough for you to pass."

Shinku's original body slowly disappeared as he left behind, startling Ken.

Mito looked horrified when she saw Shinku behind Ken while Jenzi still hadn't come out of the ground.

"I didn't know you had already activated your Sharingan. That was a surprise. But you shouldn't be arrogant after awakening your bloodline."

"Because of your arrogance, you didn't even check for illusion. Even when everything went exactly how you wanted it to, you didn't bother to observe it."

"You believed that you could break out of any illusion, and this gave you a false hope of defeating me with your simple tactic."

"Do you think I wouldn't feel those Kunai and Shuriken traps when they were placed just next to each other? I am a Jonin. I have seen several tactics better than this."

Hearing his words, Ken suddenly thought of Sasuke and realized that he was acting just like that.

But he can not be like Sasuke. He mustn't be like Sasuke.

That thought made him shudder as he hurriedly corrected his mindset and nodded.

"But Shinku Sensei, when did you use the illusion? We didn't even notice it." Mito walked toward him and asked with confusion.

Since she no longer had the feeling of her Chakra Reserve being depleted, she was able to move quite quickly.

"When you launched the attack. Originally, I only placed a single illusion, but when you set the trap beneath me, I realized what kind of tactic you were going to perform."

"That could be dangerous based on the choices of a Jonin, so I used the second illusion just to make sure that you don't go overboard."

Shinku explained, which made all of them nod.

"Good, since you have completed my test, you are all qualified Genin of the Leaf. This is Wartime, but despite that, Genin won't be sent to a battlefield without proper preparation."

"Instead, we will do some training for a month. Then, we will take some C-Rank missions. After I feel you are qualified to join the war, I will register you for the war."

"But during the mission time, I might get called for high-level missions. So, prepare to train hard for this month."

Hearing his words, three Genin showed solemn expressions and nodded.

"Now, go back to your home and prepare yourself for tomorrow!"

Since today was the graduation day, he wasn't planning to train them today.

Giving them a day to rest, Shinku also left with a Body Flicker Technique.

"Do you think we should celebrate together?" Jenzi asked.

Feeling his excitement, Mito looked at Ken, who nodded and said.

"Let's go for Ichiraku Ramen. It has been opened recently."

"Alright!"

Three of them went to have Ichiraku. During this time, Ken didn't stress over his performance, nor did he think about his future.

He just enjoyed his time with his friends.

...…..

Next Day,

Ken woke up and finished his morning routine. Since they planned to meet at eight, Ken decided to train during this time.

After three hours of training, Ken stopped, took a bath, ate a rice ball, and left.

While walking toward their training ground, Ken opened his status panel.

[Name- Uchiha Ken

Genjutsu- None

Points- Zero

Task- Practice Fireball Jutsu five hundred times- Reward (1000 Points)]

During his yesterday and morning training, he finally noticed the increase in his Sharingan and attribute.

As for Taijutsu and Ninjutsu, he knew it would improve if he did train those.

But since he was focusing only on Fireball, he didn't see any changes in those.

This time, he trained his Uchiha Fluid, Three Basic Techniques, and Shuriken Jutsu while keeping his Sharingan open for almost twenty minutes.

That drained his Chakra completely, but it did prove to be useful.

He improved his Sharingan by 20 points, and his Uchiha Fluid also showed an improvement by 20 points.

But during these twenty minutes, he wasn't just training these two things. He only trained Uchiha Fluid for ten minutes, which meant he was getting two points per minute.

Since his Chakra Reserve was quite small, he only managed to perform five times transformations, five times substitutions, and five times clones. He trained Shuriken Jutsu ten times.

Each time, these would increase by one point.

Ninjutsu would increase points after one usage, while Taijutsu would improve based on a minute of usage.

The same was true for Sharingan, but one extra requirement was to participate in battle or training.

That's why when he tried improving his Sharingan points by simply opening his eyes, it didn't work.

Soon, Ken joined his friends, and they waited for Shinku.

Fortunately, Shinku wasn't like Kakashi. He came here exactly on time and immediately started training them.

"Alright, before we start, how many of you know Chakra Control Exercises?"

Shinku asked.

All three of them raised their hands at the same time.

Both Mito and Jenzi came from ninja backgrounds, so it was normal for them to know about Chakra Control Exercises.

The same was true for Ken, except he learned those from his memories. Although he was a powerful Clan, he didn't have a caretaker after he joined the academy.

So, he learned those exercises after getting those dreams.

"Then, we can start with something else. I have seen your performance yesterday and have something to say about it."

"First of all, Jenzi!"

As he said this, he stared at Jenzi, which made Jenzi quite nervous.

"You aren't stupid, but you are not sharp. As a ninja, the first thing you need to understand is your enemy and the surroundings."

"So, your goal is to read this book and memorize it within five days."

As he said that, he took out a book and threw it toward Jenzi.

[How to be a Perfect Ninja- By Senju Tobirama]

"It is a copy that I found from Third Hokage. It records every requirement you need to stay sharp as a Ninja. It is a thing that you can learn, and you must learn, understand?"

Jenzi held the book tightly and nodded.

Shinku turned his head toward Mito and spoke.

"Your problem is your Chakra Reserves and physical strength. You need a lot of training, so you will perform Tree Climbing a hundred times each day and also work on your exercises."

Mito nodded. She also knew this was her problem. Just using one Water Bullet Technique made her depleted, which wasn't a pleasant feeling when you were fighting an enemy.

Shinku turned toward Ken and said.

"There is not anything wrong with you. You have a considerable Chakra Reserve for a newly graduated Genin, and your basics are good. But, as a Captain, you need to have better fighting instinct."

"If yesterday's battle was real, your arrogant attitude would lead to the demise of your team."

Hearing this, Ken lowered his head and clenched his fist.

Shinku wasn't wrong. He was arrogant enough to believe that his Sharingan could counter most Genjutsu.

If that battle was a real battle, he would not only have lost his teammates but also his own life.

"Sir, it wasn't his fault. We also didn't realize we were under a Genjutsu."

Mito immediately spoke for her teammate. While it was true that Ken was the man who made the plan, they were also involved in it.

So, it was wrong to blame Ken for something he couldn't even notice.

But Ken could understand Shinku's concern and immediately spoke.

"He is right, Mito. Because Sharingan has an inherent advantage towards Genjutsu, I thought I would feel the influence of Genjutsu the moment I fall into one."

"So, I didn't even check whether I was under a Genjutsu or not. If I had checked properly, we wouldn't have been embarrassed like that."

Hearing him admit his mistake, Shinku sighed a breath of relief. He was worried that Ken would be like most Uchiha.

Although Ken did show some arrogance, the fact he was able to accept his mistake and admit it was more than enough to show his differences from most Uchiha.

"I'm glad you understand. Since you can understand this, we can start a real lesson."

"What is it, Sensei?" Ken curiously asked.

"Battle! You and I will constantly fight until your Chakra Reserves go low. That's the only I can think of to improve your strength."
