Chapter 866: Chapter 866 Useless Despite Their Numbers
Soon, Finn and the first-tier adventurers reached the floor where the giant flowers were invading. The flowers were still climbing upwards, but once Finn and the others arrived, they leapt down with such force that the flowers couldn't react in time. In groups of three or five, many were swiftly obliterated.
"Why do I feel like these things are useless, apart from their numbers? They look like trash!"
Tiona asked with a puzzled expression. She had anticipated a tough battle, but it turned out to be a joke. How could this be considered a difficult fight?
"It's because we've gotten so much stronger that we forgot how powerful we are!! "
Finn chuckled, patting his head. It was no wonder the battle felt so easy, these giant flowers were only around Level 4. They might pose a challenge to unarmed Level 5 adventurers, but with weapons in hand, they were no match.
Currently, most of them were Level 7 bosses, with terrifying combat power and powerful mounts. Taking down these creatures was easy. If they were still stuck at Level 6 or 5, it would have been much harder to deal with such enemies.
Now, they felt a bit embarrassed, realizing that they had taken the threat seriously, only to find out it wasn't dangerous at all.
"This isn't the time for complacency. It might be easy for us, but it's not the same for others. Let's finish these off quickly and then figure out where they're coming from!"
Hearing Riveria's orders, the group sprang back into action. Yes, it might be easy for the Loki Familia, but for other adventurers, this was life-threatening.
Remember, Orario's adventurers followed a pyramid structure. Before, Ottar was the only Level 7, and they could count the number of Level 6 adventurers on one hand, and the number didn't increase much beyond that.
Reaching Level 4 already marked one as a high-ranking adventurer. Reaching Level 5 meant joining the first tier of adventurers, a serious achievement. The monsters were around Level 4, and though not particularly powerful, they would be tough to deal with if their attacks were particularly strong.
So, the adventurers picked up their pace. Along with dealing with the dungeon riot, they also needed to uncover the origin of these giant flowers.
"Let's take turns. The caves where these flowers bloom aren't closing that quickly. We'll split into two groups, one will focus on clearing the current floor, while the other goes down the tunnels to find the source!"
Finn quickly made the assignments, and everyone agreed with the plan. It was true that aside from their numbers, the giant flowers posed little threat to them. However, that 'little threat' was relative.
In terms of sheer numbers, though, they were still overwhelming.
After the assignments were made, Riveria, Gareth, Bete, and the others stayed behind, while Finn led Ais, Tiona, Tione, Lefiya, and others downwards.
After opening a tunnel, Finn and his group descended. As they fell, more giant flowers kept appearing to fill the gaps, but Finn quickly dealt with them.
At the very least, they wouldn't be killed by Level 4 monsters.
"Those guys actually left us behind to guard this place. How annoying!"
Bete, frustrated, vented his anger on the remaining monsters, kicking the giant flowers into pieces.
Due to Bete's anger, the others' fighting spirit was ignited as well. In the end, aside from a few monsters that slipped through to the upper floors, the rest were completely wiped out. The adventurers on the upper floors remained vigilant, but after waiting for a long time, no further danger appeared.
Eventually, someone went to investigate and found out that the crisis had already been eliminated at its source, and there was nothing more to worry about.
The threat had been intercepted before it could reach the higher floors. For the adventurers, clearing the first floor was easy, and they no longer had to worry.
Some, out of curiosity, ventured down to the next floor. However, after witnessing the brutal scene there, everyone was left terrified. It wasn't because the monsters were too weak but because the adventurers guarding that floor were overwhelmingly powerful.
Riveria, in particular, demonstrated her strength. As hordes of giant flowers charged forward, she cast a powerful spell at high speed, wiping out the monsters almost instantly with incredible efficiency.
Within minutes, the monsters were wiped out, though a few did emerge from the walls to interfere. However, the rest of the adventurers weren't slacking either, and those creatures were swiftly dealt with.
"Is the Loki Familia really this strong? We knew Nine Hell was powerful, but this is beyond terrifying! And that adventurer, is he really a level 5? How can anyone be that fast? I couldn't even see his movements!"
A Level 5 adventurer from another Familia asked in confusion.
"Are you an idiot? That's not a Level 5 anymore. They've probably already reached Level 6. Otherwise, they wouldn't be this fast. The Loki Familia is truly something else!"
Tsubaki, a Level 5 adventurer from Hephaestus's Familia, responded, shaking her head in disbelief. Though she was a blacksmith, adventurers like her who crafted weapons often tested them in battle.
So her combat skills were quite decent, and if she focused solely on fighting instead of smithing, she might have reached Level 6 or even Level 7 by now. But her passion was forging weapons, so that was where her efforts went.
In the Hephaestus Familia, which ruled the blacksmithing world, the members didn't need to focus on leveling up. As long as they could forge weapons from the materials others provided, they were fine.
Of course, some of the materials required not only skill but strength as well. Without enough power, they wouldn't even be able to handle the monster drops to forge weapons. So, strength training was still necessary, even if not for enhancing stats.
In such a Familia, many members didn't focus on battle. After all, as long as they reached a certain level, they could upgrade their skills. It wasn't mandatory to reach S or SS rank.
The limits of a god's blessing weren't something that could be broken by just anyone, it wasn't a joke.
While continuing to kill the giant flowers, Finn and the others eventually reached the 24th floor, the source of the invasion. Afterward, no more giant flowers surged to the upper floors.
Even so, there were still numerous flowers swarming up from the depths.
During this time, Finn and his team rescued quite a few adventurers, all of whom had broken through to the 24th floor or deeper.
