Naruto: Our Goal Is To Dig Every Corner of Konoha

Chapter 857: Chapter 857 None Of Them Are Good People

To be honest, Asahi harbored little sympathy for Liliruca. Sure, her backstory was tragic, and she'd been mercilessly exploited by Soma Familia.

But the more troubling issue was her actions, many of which were cruel. In Asahi's view, Liliruca perfectly embodied the saying, 'pitiful people often have hateful traits'.

Yes, Liliruca had been oppressed for a long time, and Orario's adventurers, some good and some bad, had mistreated her. She'd been deceived, used as bait, and wronged by many. But in her bitterness, she had also hurt those who had tried to help her, which made it difficult for Asahi to see her in a favorable light.

In the original work, Bell had been one of her victims. Liliruca, eyeing Bell's knife, stole it from him while he was engaged in battle. This could've easily gotten Bell killed, as fighting without his weapon put his life in danger.

Liliruca's mistrust of adventurers had made her act out of sheer self-preservation, thinking that even those who helped her had ulterior motives. She was convinced that Bell was no different, despite his good intentions.

Asahi found this trait of Liliruca's to be highly frustrating. Her mistrust had led her to indirectly or even directly cause the deaths of innocent people who had genuinely wanted to help her.

This wasn't a mere lapse in judgment, as Liliruca had made a conscious decision to act against them out of distrust.

In Bell's case, it wasn't just a bad decision, it was borderline malicious. At the time, Bell was still a Level 1 adventurer, and losing his weapon in a dangerous situation could've spelled certain death.

The fact that Liliruca had seriously considered leaving him to die just to avoid potential retribution made Asahi despise her even more.

Her behavior was a reflection of the toxic environment of Soma Familia. From Soma himself to the lowest-ranking members like Liliruca, the entire group was rotten.

Asahi's disdain for them was palpable. Soma's indifference and the way his Familia operated made them no better than the likes of Apollo and Ishtar Familia. They were all a mess in his eyes.

When Asahi arrived at Soma Familia, the reception he got only solidified his disgust.

"Hey, who are you? What're you doing here? If you're here for Soma's divine wine, hand over your money. If not, get lost!"

The rude greeting was exactly what Asahi expected from this cesspit of a Familia. Soma's Familia had completely deteriorated into a group that only cared about his divine wine, their obsession ruining any semblance of a decent family.

Soma himself didn't care, and that disinterest had trickled down to every one of his followers, leaving them to become self-centered and cruel. It was a Familia Asahi wanted to see destroyed.

be honest, Asahi was bewildered by Soma's decision-making. He couldn't help but question whether there was something wrong with Soma's mind.

It was common knowledge that Soma's divine wine was incredibly alluring. While it didn't fully intoxicate the gods, the taste was so irresistible that even gods like Loki were hooked on it, frequently buying it to indulge.

The fact that Soma had given up making his Familia members obsessed with the wine was beyond strange to Asahi.

What baffled him more was that someone like Finn and the others in the Loki Familia had never been tempted by Soma's wine. It showed just how problematic Soma Familia's leadership had become.

Liliruca was no exception. She dared to steal from other adventurers but never had the courage to strike back at those who bullied her in Soma Familia.

With her skills, she certainly could have defended herself or retaliated, but she didn't. Instead, she chose to harm others, which deeply frustrated Asahi.

This behavior reminded him of a certain individual from a parallel world in Academy City, who also misused their abilities, targeting Judgment's officers rather than the bullies who tormented them.

Similarly, Liliruca's actions mirrored this folly. Both her and that person were pitiful, but their self-inflicted victimhood made them difficult to sympathize with.

They both blurred the lines between good and evil, making it hard to feel pity for their struggles.

As Asahi observed her actions, his mind wandered, thinking of the likes of Kaitabi Hatsuya, another individual from a different world who had an overactive imagination but lacked discernment in distinguishing right from wrong.

Both of them were people who, though pitiful, didn't deserve the sympathy they sought.

Asahi then focused on Lilly's karmic aura.

'Let me see the karma on you. Quite strong, huh? Not only do you have the karma of harming others, but also of murder. Five lives... interesting!'

Asahi could clearly see the heavy karmic burden that Lilly carried. Deciding she wasn't worth sparing, Asahi snapped his fingers, summoning a flame that enveloped his target.

The fire didn't immediately kill the person but instead caused them to weep in pain. As adventurers, they were no stranger to physical suffering, but this flame was peculiar in its intensity, providing a sense of slow, impending doom!

And Asahi veiled himself with magic so that no one could see or hear him. He could observe everything, though, as the person writhed in agony, tormented by the flames. His judgments were swift and merciless, especially when it came to people carrying heavy karmic debts.

Every person Asahi encountered on his way was the same, overburdened by karma. While they might not have all been murderers, their actions were as cruel as killing. Asahi dealt with them efficiently, eliminating them without hesitation.

As for Soma, who doesn't care about things at all, he won't let him go too.

His neglect for his Familia, the creation of the divine wine that ensnared his own people, and his general apathy towards their suffering were all unforgivable in Asahi's eyes.

It didn't matter if Soma was a god. To Asahi, every life was more insignificant than an ant's, and that included gods like Soma.

Before long, Asahi arrived at Soma's wine brewery, where he saw Soma with a decadent face.
