Chapter 848: Chapter 848 The Kicked Out Hestia
"I'm doomed! I've been kicked out of my home. What am I supposed to do now? Will I starve to death and be sent back to the heavens?"
After leaving the Loki Familia, Asahi encountered a peculiar loli goddess from the original work, Hestia. Despite her divine status, she was known for being exceptionally lazy.
Upon descending to the lower world, Hestia didn't bother to develop her own Familia. Instead, she leached off her god friends, living off their generosity. In heaven, this might have been fine, but things were different down here.
Hephaestus, who had also descended, quickly realized that making money wasn't easy. Yet, with her exceptional crafting abilities, Hephaestus wasn't worried about her own future.
Although her Familia wasn't as strong in combat as Freya's or Loki's, they were incredibly wealthy. The high-end weapons they produced could easily fetch tens of millions, and some even went for over a billion valis.
This was no exaggeration.
Hephaestus was genuinely wealthy, but wealth didn't necessarily translate into rapid development. Gods who descended often found themselves in difficult situations, with nothing to their names, making growth slow and challenging.
As for Hestia, she had no special talents and was more of a freeloader, which led to her being kicked out by Hephaestus.
It wasn't that Hephaestus couldn't afford to support her, as feeding Hestia for a hundred years wouldn't even come close to the cost of a single weapon she made.
But Hephaestus didn't want to see her friend languish. She believed that if Hestia couldn't survive in the lower world, she'd be better off returning to heaven, where she wouldn't be a burden to anyone.
Hestia, who was kicked out at this moment, was at a complete loss, not knowing what to do. Other gods had adapted to life in the lower world with the help of friends, quickly understanding the situation and establishing their own Familias.
Conflicts between gods and mortals were common, but Hestia found herself enjoying her idle lifestyle a little too much, leading to the sad situation she was now in.
Being kicked out was like being thrown into a desert at night without any sense of direction, utterly lost.
In the original story, Hestia managed to survive, though her circumstances were far from ideal. She lived in a dilapidated church, eating simple, cheap food, which she had to make herself.
If she had accepted Hephaestus' help back then, she could have easily started her own Familia. Hephaestus would likely have lent her some support, possibly even money, but Hestia didn't take advantage of that opportunity.
"Although you're not the strangest god I've met, but you're definitely up there." Asahi remarked, looking at the loli goddess before him. "You're worried about starving and being sent back to the heavens? Come on, you've got hands and feet. You could at least wash dishes and avoid starving!"
Asahi couldn't help but be exasperated by the sight of the forlorn Hestia. Sure, she was cute, but in Orario, adventurers knew better than to join a Familia just because the goddess was adorable.
"That's just too much! I'm a goddess, after all. Even if my friend kicked me out, I can still survive… Wait a minute… Who are you?
Hestia let out a frustrated complaint, then suddenly realized she was speaking to a stranger. She was startled and took a step back.
"You're a goddess, yet you're frightened by a random person? What have you been doing these past few billion years?"
Asahi asked, feeling a bit exasperated. It seemed strange that gods who had lived for eons, like Hestia, could act so naively, almost like little girls.
"That's none of your business! Besides, you still haven't told me who you are!"
Hestia retorted, a bit flustered and annoyed. But in truth, there wasn't much she could do about Asahi.
Even though she was a goddess, she couldn't just go around using her divine powers freely, as doing so would get her sent back to the heavens. And without her divine powers, she'd just be an easy target.
While the rules in Orario placed gods on a high pedestal, they didn't grant them the right to mistreat adventurers without consequences.
Once this happens, the gods will also pay the price, and adventurers who are beaten up are fine.
"Nice to meet you. My name is Asahi, and I'm a world traveler." Asahi introduced himself, extending his hand toward Hestia. She instinctively shook it, still processing what he had said.
"Wait, what do you mean by 'world traveler'? Have you been to many places? What's outside of Orario like? Do you have a Familia? Do you want to join mine?"
Hestia fired off a barrage of questions, her curiosity piqued like a child with a million things to ask.
"You've got a lot of questions," Asahi chuckled. "There are indeed many interesting places in this world, but Orario is undoubtedly its center. As for a Familia, I'm not a member of any, and I'm not interested in joining yours either!"
Not to mention that Asahi will not join any Familia, even if he joins, Hestia will not be able to lead him into her Familia, as no god in this world can match Asahi.
"Why wouldn't you join my Familia? You clearly don't have one!"
Hestia said dissatisfiedly.
"Hahaha! You're really something, aren't you? But you should know, no one in Orario would join your Familia now." Asahi said with a teasing smile. "After all, you're a goddess who's been kicked out of a friend's place after freeloading for so long. Who would want to join a Familia like that?"
"You can't offer any real help, you're known as a freeloader, and your Familia has exactly zero members. You've got no resources, no influence, and let's be honest, who wants to join a Familia where they'll have to take care of a lazy goddess?"
Hestia shrank under Asahi's blunt words, feeling incredibly small and dejected. His criticism hit her hard, but it wasn't entirely unwarranted.
"Just you wait! I'll definitely find my Familia members and build my own Familia!"
Hestia declared, reigniting her resolve.
"That's highly unlikely," Asahi said, shaking his head with a bemused smile. "You have no advantages. Even a goddess like Miach can make a living selling potions. But what about you? What can you do? As a so-called 'goddess of the hearth', your cooking skills are barely average!"
His words struck another blow to Hestia, making her feel even more discouraged.
