NARUTO: Ninja World Scientific Revolution

Chapter 70: CHAPTER 69 - 2nd Extraction

"Lord Ninja, please slow down, I'm running out of strength…"

Ayaka Uzumaki gasped as she spoke. She had been running nonstop, and while there was plenty of food and water, her lungs felt like they were about to burst. Each breath was as if a knife was slashing at her chest.

"We have to reach the next town before nightfall. If you fall behind and can't keep up, you'll stay here in these deep woods. I won't save you," Hyuga Mirai said coldly. In front of this outsider, he had no need to pretend to be the perfect shinobi from Konoha. The so-called successor of the Will of Fire? That mask came off without hesitation.

Ayaka had a huge amount of chakra in her body, and it was full of Yang Release properties. However, since she had been on the run since childhood, no one had taught her how to use it.

Hyuga Mirai didn't have the time to play the babysitter. He had to teach her how to use chakra in the shortest amount of time possible; otherwise, she would remain at the bottom of the ninja world.

"Your chakra is even greater than mine. Try to sense it, and gather it. You can channel it to your hands to gain strength, or to your feet to make running easier."

"Remember, if you fall behind, you'll be left with the beasts. Don't even bother calling for help; no one will come for you."

With that, Hyuga Mirai turned and continued walking ahead. His pace wasn't fast—compared to a real ninja, he might as well have been crawling. But for Ayaka, who had no ninja training, after running for so long, her feet were covered in blisters. Still, she dared not slow down because she had witnessed this white-eyed young ninja kill three other ninjas with ease.

When he killed them, his face showed no emotion. Ayaka sighed inwardly as she watched.

This ninja lord is so cold-blooded!

The only thing that reassured her was that this young ninja didn't seem to have any malicious intent toward her. Even though he said scary things, he still provided her with delicious food.

For that reason alone, Ayaka chose to follow this ninja rather than the three rogue ninjas from the Grass Village.

'Chakra... What is chakra? Why does it exist in my body without any explanation?' Ayaka complained internally. She was careful not to show any emotion on her face, even when she grumbled mentally. She lowered her head in case Hyuga Mirai saw it.

After a while, Hyuga Mirai's pace increased. Ayaka had no choice but to push herself, gasping for breath as she struggled to keep up. She knew the ninja wasn't lying—if she lagged behind, she would really be left behind in the forest.

Around noon, her pace slowed slightly. The distance between them opened just a bit when a shuriken suddenly flew from behind, slicing off a bunch of her hair. Ayaka even felt the cold air as the shuriken passed by her face.

Realizing that she might not be able to keep up, Ayaka felt like crying. She quickly recalled what Hyuga Mirai had said. "Chakra... right! He mentioned I need to form hand signs to channel chakra..."

Without thinking too much, Ayaka desperately formed hand signs while running, hoping to feel the chakra he spoke of.

With the threat of being abandoned looming, Ayaka's mind became hyper-alert. She looked ahead at Hyuga Mirai and felt that the distance between them had grown even further.

"Don't! I don't want to be left behind!!"

In a surge of anxiety, a wave of energy suddenly erupted from her body, as though a flame was burning in her stomach. It quickly spread through her limbs.

'This is...'

Ayaka was shocked as she suddenly felt lighter, and her limbs were filled with strength. The power surged within her, and she suddenly realized she could leap several meters in one bound. Her speed while running increased significantly as well.

"This is chakra? I finally got it!" Ayaka thought with excitement. At that moment, she was relieved—she wouldn't be left behind and left to die after all.

With chakra now coursing through her, her running speed increased twofold, and she quickly caught up with Hyuga Mirai.

"Lord Ninja..."

Before Ayaka could say anything, Hyuga Mirai sped up even more, putting even more distance between them.

Ayaka could only close her mouth and focus on matching his pace, determined not to fall behind. No matter how fast she ran, Hyuga Mirai always stayed just ahead. They continued running, with Ayaka following closely behind, both using chakra to travel at an incredible speed. Soon, they reached the town before nightfall.

"Let's find a place to rest. You'll stay here for now," Hyuga Mirai said, not paying attention to Ayaka, who was gasping for breath and hoping he would lend her a hand. He walked toward a hot spring inn. Ayaka almost stumbled as she tried to catch up but managed to steady herself.

Hyuga Mirai rented an expensive suite, which had a living room and two separate rooms—enough for the two of them to stay.

After paying for the room, he left a large sum of money and instructed, "Use the rest to buy dinner and bring it to the room."

The innkeeper was stunned when she saw the large amount of money and asked nervously, "Sir, this much..."

"All of it. Hurry up," Hinata Mirai ordered.

Ayaka wasn't sure if she was a big eater, but she knew one thing: no matter how much food they brought, she could finish it all quickly. As for Hyuga Mirai, he believed that was a modest estimate.

After a short soak in the hot spring to relax, Hyuga Mirai didn't care whether Ayaka joined him or not. He had placed a sensory seal on her, so unless she knew space-time ninjutsu, there was no way she could escape his grasp.

Ayaka, meanwhile, took the opportunity to soak in the hot spring as well. When she returned to the room, she found the table full of delicious food. Seeing it, she couldn't help but swallow.

"Lord Ninja?"

She asked softly, and when Hyuga Mirai didn't respond, she understood she was allowed to eat.

She hurried to the table, picked up her chopsticks, and began to devour the food in front of her. However, she was very polite and only ate from her side of the table, not daring to reach over to Hinata Mirai's side.

After a hearty meal, just as Ayaka was about to pat her full stomach, Hinata Mirai threw two scrolls and a stack of money at her.

"Don't disturb me tomorrow. Memorize the contents of the scrolls, and if you get hungry, call for food yourself."

Hinata Mirai returned to his room after that. After setting up a barrier technique, he activated the "Scientific Template System."

"System, activate the extraction function!"
