Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Kakuzu
"Kill him!" Natsu's face darkened as he gave the command.
His samurai followers didn't hesitate. With blades raised, they charged at Genzuki.
Countless shinobi had fallen before their swords, cut into bloody pieces. But to Genzuki, they were nothing more than child's play.
With a flick of his wrist, Genzuki summoned the Flying Thunder God kunai into his hand.
"Killing all of you will take but an instant."
In a flash, Genzuki became a streak of light, darting through the mass of attackers at a speed far beyond human reaction.
Shing!
As the Flying Thunder God technique activated, Genzuki's figure vanished and reappeared among the hundred attackers in a blur of golden light.
Natsu could only blink in disbelief as all his subordinates collapsed to the ground in a pool of blood.
"W-What… what just happened?" Natsu's eyes widened in terror.
How could there be an attack faster than his renowned Iai Slash?
Genzuki reappeared, lightning crackling around his body in arcs of blue and white.
In this Lightning Release Chakra Mode, his speed was truly overwhelming.
Natsu instinctively raised his blade, but before he could even swing it, Genzuki had already vanished again.
"Too slow," Genzuki's voice echoed from behind him.
A hand crackling with concentrated lightning pierced through Natsu's chest in an instant.
Flash!
Natsu's body spasmed as the electricity surged through him, his eyes filled with disbelief before he fell lifelessly to the ground.
"Time to play with you, Gato," Genzuki murmured, his Sharingan glinting as he read Natsu's memories just before death.
He now knew where Kazu, Gato's right-hand man, was hiding—just a short distance away at a secret base.
In one of Gato's southern bases, Kazu lounged on a plush sofa surrounded by his lackeys.
"Have you discovered anything about those strange ninjas?" Kazu asked, eyeing his men.
One of them stepped forward, holding several photos.
"The girl is from the Blood Pond Clan—Chino, the one Gato-sama has been searching for."
"And the… strange one? He's none other than the Fourth Mizukage, Yagura."
Kazu frowned. "Quite the troublesome pair. But who's that boy leading them? What kind of person can command the power of a Kage?"
A cold smile crept across Kazu's face.
"But this base is underground. Even if that kid has godlike powers, he'll never find his way here!"
Turning to one of his spies, Kazu barked, "Go! Find out more about that boy!"
The spy nodded and left quickly.
At that moment, a man seated across from Kazu chuckled darkly.
"Why so nervous, Kazu?" the masked man sneered.
"Even if the Fourth Mizukage shows up, he's no match for me."
The masked man—his eyes glowing green—wore the forehead protector of the Hidden Waterfall Village. His face was obscured by a respirator-like mask.
Kazu's tone immediately softened. "Kakuzu-sama, you know something about that boy?"
Kakuzu chuckled ominously. "They call him Phantom Demon, leader of the newly risen Moon Organization."
"It's said that he can use multiple chakra natures, each at a masterful level. But against my Earth Grudge Fear, no amount of chakra techniques will save him. I'll tear out his heart and uncover his secrets!"
Kazu dared not argue with Kakuzu—an S-rank rogue ninja feared throughout the world. Hiring him had cost a fortune, but it was worth it to achieve Gato's goals.
Kakuzu was unlike most rogue ninjas. As long as the price was right, he would accept any mission.
"Of course, with Kakuzu-sama here, I feel completely safe," Kazu said with a nervous laugh.
Suddenly, footsteps echoed from outside the door.
Kazu frowned. "Is the spy back already? That was fast…"
But when the door opened, it wasn't the spy.
A white-haired young man stood in the doorway, holding the lifeless body of the spy he had just sent out.
Behind him stood Chino and Yagura.
"Y-You?! How did you get in here?" Kazu stammered, collapsing to the floor in fear.
He had been confident that no one could find the secret base—only a handful of people even knew its location.
"Was it that samurai? He betrayed me?!" Kazu cursed.
Genzuki chuckled. "No, you're blaming the wrong person. It's not something he could've decided anyway."
In the next moment, dozens of golden flashes filled the room.
Slash! Thud! Splat!
Every one of Kazu's men fell instantly, their bodies hitting the ground in a bloody heap.
Even Kakuzu narrowed his eyes at the display of power.
"That… That's the Second Hokage's Flying Thunder God technique! How can a kid like you use it?!"
Kakuzu's sharp gaze locked onto Genzuki.
"Are you from the Senju Clan?"
Genzuki smiled as he calmly walked into the room, his Sharingan gleaming.
"You must be Kakuzu," Genzuki said, ignoring the question.
"As soon as I heard Gato had hired an S-rank rogue ninja, I thought it might be you. After all, you're always chasing money—no way you'd pass up such an opportunity."
Kakuzu's expression hardened. "Who are you?"
"I know quite a bit about you," Genzuki said, smiling faintly. "But before we get to that, how about we discuss a much bigger deal?"
"Join my Moon Organization, and we'll become the richest people in this world."
"But if you refuse… well, I'll have no choice but to make you disappear from this world entirely."
Kakuzu chuckled coldly. "You're the first brat who's ever dared threaten me. Interesting…"
He rose to his feet, preparing for battle.
"As a warning, I once fought the First Hokage and lived to tell the tale—"
"Yeah, yeah," Genzuki interrupted, "and you ran away with your tail between your legs. No need to brag."
"You—!" Kakuzu's face darkened. "Who are you?"
"I'm the leader of the Moon Organization—Phantom Demon."
Genzuki's Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan flared, casting a blood-red glow across the room.
Kakuzu's eyes widened in shock.
"I can't let you use those techniques!"
"Earth Grudge Fear!"
Countless black threads shot out from Kakuzu's body, taking the shape of five masks, each representing a different chakra nature.
"Wind Release: Pressure Damage!"
"Lightning Release: False Darkness!"
"Water Release: Water Formation Wall!"
"Fire Release: Intelligent Hard Work!"
"Earth Release: Earth Spear!"
The combined assault was overwhelming, far more powerful than anything Sasori had unleashed.
But Genzuki merely smiled and reached into his bag, pulling out the Uchiha fan.
He hadn't used it before, but now seemed like a perfect time.
"Reflect."
With a single swing of the fan, all the attacks rebounded toward Kakuzu.
Boom! Crash! Roar!
Kakuzu's body was torn apart by his own jutsu, leaving him sprawled on the ground, barely moving.
"Looks like that took out two of your hearts," Genzuki said, his eyes glinting dangerously. "Want me to keep count for you? You've got three left."
