Chapter 5: Ch-05 Inoiki vs Fu.
Inoiki leaned back against the rough bark of the tree, gazing up at the canopy of dense leaves overhead. His thoughts drifted as they often did these days.
"It's been two days since Ino was chosen as part of the 16th generation of the Ino-Shika-Cho trio," he mused, eyes narrowing in contemplation. "But then again, it only makes sense. I'm an anomaly in this world."
A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips, as a thought that still amazed him resurfaced. "I was reborn in the Naruto universe... And I only regained my memories a few weeks ago, at six years old. I never imagined something out of a fanfic would actually happen to me." The excitement and disbelief hadn't worn off yet. After all, who wouldn't jump at the chance to live in a world like Naruto's?
"And with my memories came a gift—something that even the Yamanaka clan can't boast about. A powerful Kekkei Genkai: Psychokinesis." His heart quickened with the sheer possibility of it. "A surprise, for sure. I know what this power can become. If developed right, it could rival, maybe even surpass, the Shinjutsu of the Otsutsuki Clan."
Inoiki closed his eyes, feeling the pulse of his power stirring beneath the surface, ready to be honed. "Telekinesis, of all things... It's like a dream. My ability is even an enhanced, mutated version of the Yamanaka Clan's techniques. Their mind-based jutsu is just a shadow of what I can do." The thrill of this realization made his smile widen.
He shifted slightly on the branch, allowing the cool breeze to tousle his hair as he rested. But suddenly, a subtle sensation pulled at his attention—someone was approaching. Keeping his posture relaxed, he let his gaze flicker downward from the corner of his eye.
A boy, maybe around nine, with striking orange hair was walking toward him. Inoiki straightened, his sharp eyes narrowing as recognition dawned. "Isn't that... Yamanaka Fu?" he murmured under his breath. He sat up fully now, alert. "What's someone from the ROOT doing here?"
Inoiki leaped down from the tree, his movements smooth and controlled. He could have used his telekinesis to float effortlessly to the ground, but he chose not to. There was no need to reveal his power just yet, especially not to someone like Fu.
By the time his feet touched the earth, Fu was only a few meters away. The two stood face to face, their eyes locking in a silent standoff. Inoiki broke the silence first, his tone steady but direct.
"Aren't you Yamanaka Fu? The one who was recruited into the ANBU three years ago? I haven't seen you since then. What brings you here now?" he asked, his gaze unwavering.
Fu's expression remained calm, his eyes betraying nothing. "Yes," he replied smoothly, "and it's an honor to be remembered by the Young Clan leader. I'm here on the direct orders of our ANBU leader. He wishes to meet with you."
Inoiki kept his face neutral, but inside his mind raced. *Liar*. He could see right through Fu's polite facade. If I go with him, I won't return in one piece, he thought.
Outwardly, Inoiki appeared as calm as ever. "If that's the case, tell him to speak with my father first. I'm just a six-year-old kid—I can't make decisions like this on my own. The ANBU leader can go through my father, and then I'll talk to him."
Fu's polite mask slipped for just a moment, his expression darkening as he realized Inoiki wasn't going to cooperate. His voice grew more insistent. "No, you have to come with me now. The leader wants to meet you directly."
Inoiki's eyes narrowed. Fu's calm was breaking, and that only confirmed what he already suspected. Something dangerous was at play here.
"Ooh… if I don't go with you, are you going to forcibly take me to your leader?" Inoiki asked, a smile playing on his lips. But while his mouth curved upward, his eyes darkened, a dangerous edge creeping into his expression.
Fu remained calm, almost unnervingly so, as if discussing something as mundane as the weather. "If you don't cooperate, I will have to resort to drastic measures," he replied, his tone as steady as ever.
Inoiki's smile lingered, though his words grew sharper. "That's not how an ANBU ninja treats a fellow Konoha villager. This kind of threat is usually reserved for criminals, isn't it?"
The playful smile on Inoiki's face vanished in an instant, replaced by a cold, calculating look. His eyes, now hard as steel, locked onto Fu's. "It seems to me that either you don't really belong to ANBU, or the ANBU is operating outside the Hokage's authority. Or perhaps... you've betrayed Konoha and are here to take care of me."
Before Fu could respond, Inoiki raised a hand, cutting him off. "Whatever the reason may be, it seems there's no avoiding a fight now, is there?"
The air between them grew tense, a palpable heaviness settling in the space. Inoiki could feel the anticipation humming in the background, the weight of inevitable conflict pressing down on both of them.
