At the Valley of the End, two figures, both known as Sasuke Uchiha and Naruto Uzumaki, stood facing each other. Both of them, only 13-year-old genin, were preparing for battle. Sasuke, already consumed by his Cursed Mark, had entered its second stage, while Naruto stood with a cloak of One-Tail worth of Kurama's chakra swirling around him. They glared at each other as Naruto spoke up.
"Sasuke, you have to stop this! Damn it, you can still come back to the village!" Naruto shouted, his voice filled with desperation.
Sasuke sneered at Naruto. "And what makes you think I want to go back to that worthless village, dobe? That village has nothing to offer me."
Naruto gritted his teeth. "What about our bond? What about our friendship? What about our team?"
Sasuke let out a cold laugh. "Huh. You think I care about that? About such fragile bonds? If you really think that, then let me show you how meaningless those bonds are."
With that, Sasuke lowered his hand, and black lightning began crackling around it, a sinister variation of his usual Chidori.
Naruto, now resolute, responded, "If you insist on going down this path, Sasuke, I'll break every bone in your body if I have to!" He formed a hand sign, prepared for the inevitable clash.
Both of them stared each other down for a moment, then charged forward with incredible speed, ready to test their new jutsus and ultimate choices.
"Sasuke!" Naruto called out as they dashed towards each other.
"Naruto!" Sasuke roared in response.
Their attacks collided with an earth-shattering impact. Both struggled for dominance, each pouring everything they had into the clash.
Sasuke's thoughts raced. "I have to end this now! I need more power. I'm an avenger! These bonds mean nothing to me! I'll go to Orochimaru, gain power, and then I'll kill him."
On the other hand, Naruto's determination only grew. "
"I simply cannot let my friend go to that damn snake! I will stop you, Sasuke. I will fulfill my promise to Sakura!" Naruto thought as he pushed more and more of Kurama's chakra into his attack. Sasuke, too, was giving everything he had, increasing the power of his jutsu. Their attacks clashed with even greater force, rushing towards each other.
There was a massive boom, but this time, the outcome of the battle was different. The victor wasn't Uchiha Sasuke.
It was Uzumaki Naruto.
Sasuke was sent flying into the statue of the Uchiha ancestor, slamming into it hard. Naruto's Rasengan had already struck Sasuke's body with full force. Sasuke tried to stand up, glaring at Naruto with as much hatred as he could muster—the only person he had ever truly considered a rival, maybe even a friend. But Sasuke's pride as an Uchiha wouldn't allow him to accept that. He was down, trying his hardest to get up, but it was to no avail. Uchiha Sasuke finally lost consciousness.
Naruto, too, felt the backlash of the battle. Kurama's chakra began to recede back into his body, but the damage was done. His body was battered, with blood dripping from his chest and arms. Some of Sasuke's black lightning had reached him, leaving burns on his skin. But none of that mattered. The pain didn't matter. Nothing mattered anymore except one thing: he had won.
He had defeated his greatest rival.
Naruto had finally fulfilled his promise. These were the only thoughts in his mind, and even through the pain, a small smile crept onto his face. He had completed the mission. Now, finally, he could bring his friend back to the village.
Naruto knew how much the village loved Sasuke, and he believed that bringing him back would make them happy. Perhaps now, they would see him as more than just a demon. Maybe, just maybe, they would finally acknowledge him as a true shinobi.
With that thought, Naruto smiled as he gently picked up Sasuke's unconscious body, ready to return to the village.
Naruto smiled at the thought as he hoisted Sasuke's unconscious body onto his shoulder, despite bleeding from his arm. He was running low on chakra but pushed himself to rush back to the village. After some time, the gates of Konoha came into view. Naruto smiled again, relieved, as he saw three figures approaching him: Kakashi, who had been on his way to find his students; Sakura, the one to whom he had made his promise; and none other than Tsunade-baa-chan.
With a final small smile, Naruto's chakra finally gave out, and he collapsed in front of the gates. Kakashi caught both Naruto and Sasuke, looking down at his two students. "Naruto, Sasuke," he muttered, concerned, as he held them both.
Tsunade quickly checked their conditions and said, "We need to get them to the hospital." Kakashi nodded, and along with Sakura, they rushed towards the hospital.
Two days later.
Naruto finally began to wake up. He felt weak, suffering from chakra exhaustion, especially due to the strain on the seal. That's why he had been tied to the bed, preventing him from moving. He groaned a little as he started to open his eyes, and when he did, he was greeted by the sight of white walls and the smell of antiseptic.
"Damn," he muttered to himself, realizing he was in the hospital. If there was one thing known across the village, it was that Naruto Uzumaki hated hospitals. Contrary to what many believed, Naruto's hatred for hospitals stemmed from his past—his loneliness and the way he was treated as a child.
