Naruto: I'm Really Not an Evil Uchiha!

Chapter 72: The Plot for the Priestess's Chakra

The other Kirigakure shinobi by his side moved behind Biwa Jūzō.

As the referee, the guards belatedly announced with a loud shout:

"Konoha shinobi wins!"

The sound echoed throughout the arena.

"Hey, I'm Terumi Mei. What's your name?"

Ignoring the referee's declaration of the match's outcome, Terumi Mei called out to Shimizu.

"Is it really wise for shinobi to reveal their names to each other? Oh well, my name is Uchiha Shimizu."

After speaking, Shimizu walked over to where Minato's team was standing. Revealing his name wasn't a big deal; anyone interested could easily find out.

"Shimizu, huh? I'll remember it."

Terumi Mei's emerald-green eyes were fixed on Shimizu as if engraving the image of the peer who had so easily defeated her into her memory.

The many guards around the Daimyo of the Land of Demons shifted their gaze away from Shimizu.

The duel they had just witnessed was eye-opening—so this was the grandeur of shinobi clashes.

Inwardly, they began to understand why the Daimyo had sought help from Konoha to quell the internal rebellion in their land.

"Shimizu, well done," Namikaze Minato said, patting Shimizu on the shoulder.

At Shimizu's age, Minato had been far from this strong.

"Kakashi, you'd better watch out, or Shimizu might steal your title of 'genius.'"

"Shimizu has always been a genius," Kakashi said flatly, his calm demeanor unchanged. Having sparred with Shimizu many times, Kakashi was fully aware of his teammate's strength and talent.

"Kakashi, I believe you can do it too," Rin Nohara interjected quickly.

She was worried that if Kakashi lost confidence in surpassing Shimizu, it would be harder for her to avoid Shimizu's dominance when she and Kakashi were together.

"Konoha's group, rest here tonight. This afternoon, feel free to explore," the Daimyo of the Land of Demons said calmly.

It seemed the Kirigakure shinobi had matters to discuss with him, likely regarding resource trades.

The Daimyo assigned attendants to guide Shimizu and his companions around the Land of Demons to enjoy the scenery.

Minato relaxed, as the mission remained under Konoha's jurisdiction. However, he grew wary of Kirigakure's movements. Their attempts to strengthen ties with smaller nations like the Land of Demons suggested larger schemes were in play.

Once the shinobi left with their guides, the priestess Miroku turned to the Daimyo and said:

"I'll be going now."

Miroku decided to return to the shrine first and wait for the shinobi to sleep before discussing matters with the Daimyo to avoid eavesdropping.

The Daimyo's expression darkened slightly as Miroku departed.

His bond with the spirit Moryo was growing deeper, a shadow looming over him.

Afternoon, the Grand Hall

"Daimyo-sama, Kirigakure is offering you a deal out of respect. Don't be ungrateful," Biwa Jūzō said coldly.

The Land of Demons was nothing more than a tiny nation. Even engaging in this discussion was an act of patience on his part.

If not for the priestess and Moryo, the Water Nation would have long since annexed this land as a vassal state.

"I need time to consider your terms," the Daimyo said, suppressing his anger.

Already upset by Miroku, now Kirigakure was pressuring him to trade resources at prices far below market value.

"I trust you will prepare the resources soon, Daimyo-sama," Jūzō pressed.

Though the Daimyo's status was theoretically equal to a Kage, differences between nations made their standings vastly unequal. Behind the Water Nation stood the formidable Kirigakure.

As the two debated terms, Shimizu made his move.

After exploring briefly with the attendants, Shimizu excused himself, claiming he needed the restroom. There, he created a shadow clone.

The shadow clone stayed with the group, continuing the tour, while the real Shimizu vanished.

Even Minato, Kakashi, and Rin didn't notice that the Shimizu with them was a shadow clone. Shadow Clone Jutsu was nearly impossible to discern without battle experience or advanced dojutsu.

Once alone, Shimizu used Earth Release: Hiding Like a Mole Technique to merge seamlessly into the walls, moving as effortlessly as swimming through water.

This technique, stolen from Uchiha Setsuna during an unguarded moment, was perfect for swift travel.

"The priestess should be at the shrine now, while the Daimyo is still negotiating with Kirigakure," Shimizu thought.

Their mission was to suppress local rebels, but simply completing the mission and leaving felt like a waste.

Opportunities to visit the Land of Demons were rare, and if they failed to act now, the next time they came might be after Moryo's full resurrection and the emergence of an army of specters.

A plan swiftly formed in Shimizu's mind.

From the movie, it was clear that Priestess Miroku was devoted to her people, even turning against the Daimyo and sacrificing her life to seal Moryo.

If he could acquire her unique chakra now, it might prove invaluable in the Third Shinobi World War, which was just months away.

Sealing techniques would be critical, especially with tailed beasts involved. Losing Rin in such a war would be too tragic. To control the Three-Tails, exceptional sealing methods would be needed.

And as for Uchiha Madara's manipulations? There were many ways to handle him. Preventing Obito's fall could be achieved through Rin's "death" or other methods to trigger him.

Even Moryo's power warranted study. Its ability to grant immense strength in a short time was intriguing.

With a poof, Shimizu summoned another shadow clone.

This clone transformed into Biwa Jūzō and headed toward the Daimyo's location, while the real Shimizu made his way to the shrine.

Thirty Minutes Later

In front of the shrine, surrounded by buildings, the priestess's guards stood vigilant, their longbows ready.

A faint disturbance in the ground went unnoticed as Shimizu emerged near the shrine's foundation, climbing onto the wooden platform.

Inside the shrine, Miroku lit an incense stick, quietly counting the minutes.

Once it was late enough, she would visit the Daimyo.

"Priestess-sama," a voice suddenly echoed in the shrine.

Miroku turned in shock, staring at the intruder who had silently appeared before her.

How had someone bypassed all the guards?

"Guar—!"

Before she could call for help, Shimizu's hand clamped mercilessly over her mouth.
