Chapter 3

After being rejected, Kushina lay sadly on the table, losing all appetite for the bento she had worked so hard to prepare. She just wanted to thank Qianyue for testifying for her in the office, with no other intention. Unfortunately, Qianyue refused.

"Aren't you and Kushina…" Minato looked at Qianyue in surprise.

Qianyue opened his lunch box and shrugged. "I don't like rice balls and sashimi. You know this, so I refused."

Qianyue really didn't like those foods. More importantly, he didn't want the ANBU people to stare at him. It would be very uncomfortable to be under their scrutiny since he had many secrets that couldn't be exposed.

"Hahaha, you guys are indeed good brothers," Minato laughed, mistakenly thinking Qianyue was keeping him company by rejecting Kushina.

"The single tomoe evolved into a double tomoe without any warning. Is it the influence of the game characters?" he wondered. After closing his Sharingan, Qianyue lay on the bed tiredly.

His full name was Chigetsu Yagami, and he was half Uchiha. His mother was from the Uchiha clan. After his father died in the war, his mother wanted to take him back to the Uchiha, but due to the conflict between her silver hair and Qianyue's, she left it alone. In addition, many people in the Uchiha clan opposed his return.

When he first traveled through time, Qianyue discovered that his eyes had already opened with a single Tomoe Sharingan. He also had a white Nine-Tails inside his body, similar to a game character. "This is the bento Kushina worked so hard to make last night," Tsunade said, picking up a rice ball. "She mentioned wanting to thank her classmate for testifying for her, so she made it specially. It seems it was rejected."

"Rejected?" Naoki's eyes widened. Who was so brave to refuse Kushina's kindness?

"Yes, I was rejected," Kushina said as she walked out of her bedroom, looking dejected. She sat next to Tsunade and scratched her hair irritably. "Qianyue-kun said he doesn't like rice balls and sashimi. Damn it, I took so long to prepare it."

Who would have thought a little girl like you would have such troubles? Tsunade almost burst out laughing and playfully kicked Naoki, causing him to grimace in pain.

"Do you know Yagami Qianyue? Who is he?" Tsunade asked.

"Iori Chizuki?" Naoki rubbed where he was kicked, recalling. "He seems to be a kid from the lower grade. He's said to be very handsome. Many girls in our grade like him."

"That's it," Tsunade chuckled, nudging Kushina. "Kushina, you're under a lot of pressure. Handsome boys are always so popular, unlike some people," she teased.

"No way!" Kushina immediately blushed. While she admitted Qianyue was handsome, that wasn't why she wanted to thank him.

"Sister, just say what you want. Why drag me into this?" Naoki felt deeply wronged. He was her brother, her biological brother! How could a sister call her brother ugly?

Ignoring Naoki's complaints, Tsunade suggested, "Well, if you invite him to your house for dinner sometime, it could be a way of saying thank you. And I'll help you evaluate him."

"What?!" Kushina held her head and jumped up, shouting, "That's really not the case! I just want to thank him. Sister Tsunade, you're going too far." She covered her face and ran towards her room.

"Tsk, tsk, little girls are so shy," Tsunade smiled innocently. Naoki internally complained, "It's not like you're that mature, Tsunade."

"Sister, you can eat out. But eating at home is off the table," Naoki declared.

"Why?" Tsunade asked, confused. Suddenly, she clenched her fists and gritted her teeth. "Is this brat disrespecting me? Who am I? I'm Tsunade-hime!"

"Naoki!" Naoki couldn't bear it and shouted, "Because Qianyue Yagami has another name."

"What name? How can one person have so many names?"

"Uchiha Chizuki," Naoki explained. "That's what some female classmates said. Yagami Chizuki is his original name. Before his mother passed away, she hoped he could return to the Uchiha because he has Uchiha blood. But the matter fell through."

"Uchiha brat?" No wonder Naoki reacted so strongly. If that's the case, Kushina, the Nine-Tails Jinchuuriki, shouldn't get too close. Tsunade wouldn't discriminate against Uchiha, but the Third Hokage, Danzo, and the elders wouldn't allow it.

Qianyue and Kushina were just classmates with a good friendship. If they became closer, higher-ups would try to separate them.

"Oooh!" Kushina hadn't expected Qianyue to answer her in person instead of writing a note back.

"Iori Chizuki! Uzumaki Kushina!" Uemura Kazuki couldn't bear it anymore and slammed the desk. "Even if you've mastered the lesson, don't disturb other students. If you want to pass notes, don't do it in front of me!"

"...Oops, got caught," Kushina blushed and quickly lay down on the table. Qianyue remained nonchalant, unaffected by Uemura Kazuki's scolding or the strange looks from their classmates.

"You mean Kushina wrote a note to that kid Chizuki Yagami?" the Third Hokage asked, reviewing Qianyue's file. "I didn't expect him to have such a connection with Uchiha."

"Doesn't he want to join the Uchiha?"

"No, Lord Hokage. After Yagami Qianyue's mother passed away, he has not been to the Uchiha clan, and the Uchiha don't seem to welcome his return."

It wasn't good for the Nine-Tails Jinchuuriki to be close to someone with Uchiha blood. Fortunately, Qianyue didn't return to Uchiha. The Third Hokage instructed the ANBU ninja, "Continue to observe.
