Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Mist Ninja Strikes

"The Sharingan of the Uchiha clan was originally renowned for its ability to copy ninjutsu, though not every wielder could master it." Minato Namikaze shifted his gaze, his expression contemplative.

"However, according to Konoha's classified records, once the Mangekyō Sharingan awakens, it grants the user a unique dojutsu. If my guess is correct, that colossal armored warrior, the inextinguishable black flames, and the formidable space-distorting techniques all stem from these eyes."

Minato's speculation did not surprise Qin Yu in the slightest.

From the moment he chose to confront the duo of A and Killer Bee, he had anticipated this outcome. Utilizing Susanoo, Amaterasu, and Tsukuyomi, he knew his secrets wouldn't remain hidden for long.

Nodding, he replied, "You're right—worthy of being the frontrunner for the next Hokage."

Minato smiled wryly. "Konoha has no shortage of remarkable individuals—Fugaku Uchiha, Shisui Uchiha, my sensei Jiraiya, and even you."

"I may be active on the battlefield, but without political backing, my candidacy is simply more palatable."

"If it were purely about strength, my teacher, Fugaku, Shisui, and others would be just as qualified."

Qin Yu glanced at Minato's humble demeanor and smirked. "Power isn't meant to be hidden forever. If you have it, flaunt it. Otherwise, what's the point?"

"Keeping strength a secret for too long? That's just dull."

"People are selfish—it's hard to stay a hero and keep everything under wraps. I'd never manage it."

Minato chuckled. "You certainly have a unique way of looking at things, Qin Yu."

"Though I can't teach you the Flying Thunder God technique, once we return to Konoha, I'll request permission from the Third Hokage. He may approve. For now, let me demonstrate the next variation of the Rasengan."

As he spoke, Minato began channeling chakra into his palm.

But before the Rasengan could fully form, hurried footsteps echoed outside.

"Minato-sama! Urgent news!" Yue Yue Cangwu burst in. "Scouts report a large force of Kirigakure shinobi approaching from three kilometers away. The leader remains unidentified."

Minato dissipated his half-formed Rasengan and turned, realizing the timing was less than ideal. He sighed.

"Qin Yu, I'll have to delay the Rasengan demonstration. You've expended a lot of chakra; stay here and rest. Leave these Mist ninja to me." With that, Minato vanished in a yellow flash.

After casting an apologetic glance at Qin Yu, Yue Yue Cangwu followed.

With their departure, the cavern fell silent once more.

"So even Kirigakure is making a move now? Seems everyone wants to strike while the iron is hot." Qin Yu chuckled.

"I had planned to track down a Tailed Beast to siphon chakra, but if I can capture a high-ranking enemy, I might get intel on the Three-Tails instead."

"For now, let's focus. If I can master Rasengan, there might be unexpected benefits."

Closing his eyes, Qin Yu activated his Mangekyō Sharingan, replaying Minato's Rasengan formation in his mind.

Gathering the remaining chakra within him, he concentrated it into his palm.

Rasengan was known for its difficulty, but with systematic practice, even someone like Naruto—once Konoha's most hopeless student—had mastered it.

Now, with his Sharingan deconstructing the technique's mechanics, Qin Yu's efficiency skyrocketed.

"Rasengan!"

His fingers tensed as vibrant blue chakra coalesced in his palm, spiraling at high speed.

Suddenly, a mechanical chime echoed in his mind.

"Ding! A-rank Ninjutsu: Rasengan has reached max proficiency."

Qin Yu frowned.

Minato had refined Rasengan to near perfection—yet it could still be improved?

"What happens if I push it further?"

Without hesitation, he willed the system to enhance the technique.

"Ding! Congratulations, host! You have obtained the Great Ball Rasengan."

"Ding! Detected host's Lightning-natured chakra—Lightning Release: Rasengan unlocked."

Qin Yu's breath hitched.

Initially, he had only wanted to emulate Naruto and develop a Wind Release: Rasenshuriken.

Yet, with his system's enhancement, he had unexpectedly unlocked both the Great Ball Rasengan and a Lightning-infused variant.

As for why no other elemental variations manifested, it was likely due to his chakra lacking additional affinities.

"Looks like I need to acquire a Sage Body in the future—then I'll be able to craft Rasengan variants of all nature transformations." He smirked.

Outside, the tension was palpable.

With the sudden emergence of Kirigakure forces, every remaining ninja at the base stood on high alert.

Before departing, Minato had given a series of precise orders, then led an elite unit to intercept the enemy.

Their destination lay near the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Water.

Unfortunately, since Minato had previously been stationed between the Land of Wind and the Land of Earth, he hadn't placed any Flying Thunder God markers in this region. Otherwise, he could have teleported there instantly.

Once Minato's unit departed, the base—originally manned by twenty-six shinobi—was reduced to just twelve.

Among those who remained were Yūgao Uzuki and Moonlight Hayate.

"Father, should we prepare for battle?" Yūgao asked cautiously. "The enemy's numbers are unknown, and they may attempt a flanking maneuver."

Her words caused the entire group to tense.

Yue Yue Cangwu turned toward the cave where Qin Yu remained and exhaled slowly before patting Yūgao's shoulder.

"Relax, foolish girl. Even if we're short on manpower, don't forget about Qin Yu."

Then, glancing at Moonlight Hayate, he added sternly, "And you—next time you meet Qin Yu, don't act recklessly. He's far beyond your level."

Hayate clenched his fists in frustration but nodded.

"Understood. My reconnaissance mission is complete. Since Qin Yu is here, I won't be of much use. I'll return to Konoha immediately."

With that, he turned toward the exit—only to be engulfed by a massive shadow descending from above.

Without warning, an immense force slammed him into the ground.

Boom!

Hayate's body struck the earth violently.

A warm, metallic taste filled his mouth. As he struggled to lift his head, his face drained of color at the sight
