Chapter 8: CHAPTER 8
Two months later
"Brother, hurry up! Guy-sensei has already arrived at the training ground!"
The energetic girl, Tenten, stood with her hands on her hips,
grinning as she urged Kazuki to move faster.
"Don't get too cocky just because you did well in the last taijutsu assessment! Lee and I will catch up to you soon!"
"Understood."
Kazuki placed the kunai he had personally forged into his ring,
then changed into his training outfit before following Tenten toward the Konoha training ground.
On Kazuki's right index finger, a silver-white ring gleamed faintly in the sunlight.
This was the space ring he had successfully crafted a month ago.
After infusing his own blood into the ring, Kazuki formed a contract with the storage seal inside,
becoming its sole owner.
To others, it appeared to be just an ordinary ring.
But once the contract was sealed,
Kazuki stored the three kunai he had forged earlier,
along with essential ninja tools like shuriken and explosive tags,
all safely within the ring in case of emergency.
However, this was only a primary space storage ring.
One reason was that the forging technique for such a two-star weapon required precise chakra control, and his first success had been a stroke of luck.
The second reason was that one of the key materials—moonstone—
while not overly expensive,
was not a commonly used metal in blacksmithing.
Kazuki had already exhausted the small supply at his house after multiple failed attempts.
If he wanted to forge another ring,
he would have to wait for his parents to return from their business trip to the Land of Iron with more materials.
"Brother, did you hear that?"
On their way to the training ground,
Tenten suddenly stopped, her brows furrowing as she turned to Kazuki.
"This way," Kazuki nodded.
He had also heard the strange noise and quickly pinpointed its direction.
"Let's go check it out!"
Without hesitation, the ever-enthusiastic Tenten grabbed Kazuki's wrist,
leading him toward the source of the commotion.
Soon, they came upon a troubling scene—
A short-haired girl with pure white eyes was backed into a corner by a group of older kids,
her small frame trembling as she hugged herself.
Tears welled up in her pale lavender eyes,
her head lowered in silent fear, too afraid to resist.
"Look! Her eyes are really white!"
"She's a monster! She must be a monster!"
"If we defeat the monster, we'll be heroes of Konoha! Let's get her!"
As they sneered, one of the boys raised his fist,
ready to strike the defenseless girl.
"Stop!"
Tenten sprang forward without a second thought,
throwing herself between the attackers and the girl,
arms spread wide in a protective stance.
Her fierce gaze locked onto the bullies as she shouted:
"You're not allowed to bully people!
If you do, I won't let you off easy!"
The boys hesitated, startled by her sudden intervention.
But then they realized—standing before them
was just a girl no bigger than they were.
Laughter erupted from the group,
their momentary fear vanishing.
Looking at Tenten's eyes was like looking at Lee when he was about to challenge Neji—full of reckless determination and zero hesitation.
"It's messed up? No, you're the one who's messed up, right?"
"Where did this wild girl come from, daring to poke her nose where it doesn't belong?"
"I'm not done yet!"
Tenten snorted coldly, her gaze unwavering, fearless, just like when she challenged Temari in the Chūnin Exams, despite knowing the odds. She stretched out her hand and pointed at the boy standing behind the gang of troublemakers—her brother, Kazuki.
"If you want to fight me, you have to take on my brother first!"
Kazuki: "???"
Sister, is this what you call fighting injustice? Dragging me into it out of nowhere?
The gang of kids turned as one, following Tenten's outstretched finger until their eyes locked onto Kazuki.
"Brothers, get him!"
The group charged forward with reckless bravado, their fists raised.
"Boring~ Who wants to waste time fighting a bunch of kids?"
Kazuki sneered, and in the blink of an eye, a dark glint flashed in his hands. His fingers were already armed with shuriken, ready to strike.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
The air split with a sharp sound as the shuriken sliced past the troublemakers' sleeves, trousers, and cheeks—leaving behind only minor scratches and frayed fabric. Kazuki's control was impeccable, his precision on par with Sasuke's in the Academy training grounds.
As expected, the moment the shuriken struck, the kids froze in terror.
One of them, trembling, touched his cheek and felt something warm and wet. He stared at his fingertips in horror—bright red.
"B-Blood! I'm bleeding!!"
His panicked cry spread like wildfire.
"M-my arm! There's blood!"
"Oh no! He's going to kill us!"
"Mom, save me!"
Screaming and crying, the gang bolted as if Orochimaru himself had appeared before them. To them, Kazuki now looked like a monster straight out of a shinobi nightmare.
At that moment, Tenten turned to a small figure huddled in the corner and gently pulled her up.
With a warm smile, she said, "Don't be afraid! Those bullies are gone. My name is Tenten. What's yours?"
"M-my name is H-Hinata Hyūga…" Hinata stammered softly, her pale eyes flickering toward Kazuki.
"He's my brother, Kazuki! He's super strong~~" Tenten boasted, puffing up with pride.
Hinata's cheeks reddened. "T-thank you… Kazuki-kun…"
She lowered her head, unable to meet his gaze, her fingers fidgeting nervously.
To her, the boy before her seemed to glow—strong, confident, and sharp, like Neji in battle. He was as dazzling as a prince descending from the skies! Even stealing a glance at him made her heart race uncontrollably.
"Why are you out here alone?" Kazuki asked, his voice calm but gentle.
So soft…
Hinata's heart skipped a beat. She lowered her head even further and murmured, "I-I… accidentally got lost…"
"The Hyūga compound isn't far from here," Kazuki mused, "We should take you back."
Tenten blinked in surprise.
Huh?
Her brother, who normally avoided trouble at all costs, was voluntarily offering to help?
Could it be… that her brother had a thing for this shy little Hyūga girl?!
