NARUTO: GOD LEVEL FORGING SYSTEM

Chapter 50: CHAPTER 50

Today was Kazuki's first day reporting for duty.

He hadn't been assigned to a team yet.

"Hokage-sama initially wanted me to directly appoint you as the captain of the Anbu," Kakashi said, his lone visible eye calm yet scrutinizing. "But based on the information I've read about you, I don't think your current experience and strength are sufficient for the role."

The moment Kakashi finished speaking, Kazuki, whose expression remained hidden beneath his mask, rolled his eyes. If not for the mask covering his face, Kakashi would have clearly seen the disdain written all over it.

Seriously, Kakashi-san?

If you hadn't managed to slice Zabuza Momochi's Kubikiribōchō in half back then, you wouldn't have survived that battle. And even then, because of your overuse of the Sharingan, you ended up bedridden for three months.

And Zabuza himself?

Tch. I already took care of him days ago.

What right do you have to look down on me?

However, Kazuki quickly deduced the reason behind Kakashi's misconception about his strength.

When he had been traveling with Might Guy, he hadn't worn a Konoha forehead protector and wasn't officially recognized as a Konoha ninja at the time. The missions they completed together were likely recorded under Guy's name alone.

Moreover, he had previously glanced at his own portfolio—most of it had been dictated by Might Guy himself. And knowing Guy, the contents were probably full of exaggerated praise and flamboyant descriptions.

Considering Kakashi's long-standing rivalry with Guy…

He probably doesn't believe a word of it.

Kazuki looked at Kakashi and asked, "What do I need to do to become the captain of the Anbu?"

The Anbu operated in squads, each consisting of four elite ninjas. Every squad had a captain, typically a jōnin-level ninja.

Ten squads formed a larger division, and the Anbu was currently split into three divisions:

The First Assassination Unit,

The Second Assassination Unit,

The Third Assassination Unit.

To qualify as a division commander, one needed to be at least elite jōnin level, with many commanders even possessing forbidden techniques.

If the three Anbu division commanders worked together, they could pose a significant threat—even to Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage.

Above them all was the Anbu Commander, Hatake Kakashi, who oversaw the entire operation.

The Anbu's structure was precise and efficient.

Currently, there were 121 active Anbu members, all considered the finest shinobi in Konoha.

Although Konoha had a large number of chūnin and jōnin, Anbu represented the elite among them. The organization played a crucial role in maintaining Konoha's security, rivaling even the village's most powerful clans, such as the Uchiha and the Hyūga.

This was the true foundation of Sarutobi Hiruzen's control over Konoha—a force capable of executing covert missions, eliminating threats, and maintaining order.

Anbu's responsibilities ranged from:

Guarding the Hokage,

Conducting surveillance and patrols,

Protecting Konoha from external threats,

Undertaking high-risk assassination missions.

Of course, not all Anbu positions were glamorous.

Lower-ranking Anbu members were often assigned menial tasks—patrolling, delivering messages, and running intelligence missions. The work was repetitive and tedious.

However, once promoted to an Assassination Captain, one gained authority. Captains could select their own teams and lead assassination missions outside the village. The job came with greater freedom—and significantly higher pay.

Hearing Kazuki's question, Kakashi narrowed his eye.

"I can give you a chance," he said. "If you can prove your strength, you'll be promoted to Anbu Captain."

"How do I prove it?" Kazuki asked, his tone casual. "Fight you?"

Kakashi let out a short, dry chuckle.

"Oh, that won't be necessary."

He didn't bother hiding his skepticism. To him, the boy in front of him was naïve. Even if Kazuki had talent in ninjutsu, there was no way he could last even three moves against him.

"You just need to choose any Anbu Captain from this list and defeat them," Kakashi said, handing Kazuki a document.

"These are the captains who are currently off-mission. Pick one."

Kazuki glanced at the list, scanning the code names.

Then, without hesitation, he pointed at a name.

"I'll choose him—Tenzo."

This ninja, codenamed "Tenzō,"

If nothing else, he should be the one from childhood—

Among the many children subjected to Orochimaru's human experiments, implanted with the cells of the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, he was the only one who survived.

Later, he inherited the rare Wood Release Kekkei Genkai, becoming a skilled user of Mokuton, and now operates under the pseudonym "Yamato."

The reason Kazuki chose him was simple.

Among the tasks issued by the system in his mind, one required collecting chakra with the Wood Release nature.

This confrontation with Yamato would be the perfect opportunity to obtain that chakra firsthand.

But the moment he elected him,

Kakashi was momentarily stunned before commenting:

"His current position isn't just that of an Anbu squad captain.

He leads the Second Assassination Division and holds elite-level strength.

Are you sure you want to challenge him?"

"I'm sure."

"Well then, since you insist on challenging Tenzō, just last five minutes against him." Kakashi said, before instructing his subordinates to summon him.

Kazuki's mouth twitched,

A grin forming beneath his mask.

Five minutes?

That should be enough!

In a short while,

A tall man wearing an Anbu mask entered Kakashi's office.

"Captain, you called for me?" he asked in a deep voice.

"Yeah." Kakashi nodded. "Tenzō, you're not on a mission right now, are you? I need you to conduct a strength test for this new recruit."

"Currently, I have no assignments."

Yamato responded respectfully before shifting his gaze toward Kazuki.

He scratched his head and, with slight hesitation, remarked:

"Captain, you're not serious, are you? You want me to assess this kid's strength? You must be joking. He looks like he hasn't even graduated from the Academy yet..."

Kazuki's face darkened instantly.

Did he really look that young?

He was twelve, sure, but he had already grown to around 1.7 meters—taller than most of his peers!

"He just joined Anbu today," Kakashi explained. "Yes, he's young—only twelve—but Lord Hokage himself ordered his transfer."

"Twelve? Has Hokage-sama lost his mind? Anbu isn't a place for children..." Yamato blurted out.

Kakashi sighed but didn't argue, simply stating:

"Hokage-sama's orders stand.

I brought you here to test his strength so I can determine his placement."

Yamato exhaled before nodding reluctantly.

"Alright, I understand."

He turned to Kazuki again, placing a hand on his shoulder.

In a serious tone, he said:

"Don't worry, I'll be careful during the test. Just do your best, and I'll gauge your abilities without causing you harm."

Kazuki's expression darkened completely.

Heh.

So he was being completely underestimated.

This was getting irritating.

Without a word, Kazuki brushed Yamato's hand off his shoulder and coldly replied:

"Unnecessary."

Yamato narrowed his eyes slightly.

But he said nothing.

Soon, the three of them arrived at an Anbu training ground.

Kakashi, the Anbu Commander, and Yamato, the captain of the Second Assassination Division codenamed "Tenzō,"

The two stood together on the field.

Immediately, they attracted the attention of numerous Anbu operatives.

"The Commander and a Division Captain at the training ground? This is rare."

"I heard they're testing a new recruit. The kid is only twelve! Lord Hokage personally transferred him into Anbu."

"At that age, most are barely Genin. How did he qualify for Anbu? Nepotism?"

Several onlookers turned their scrutiny toward Kazuki, eyes filled with curiosity and skepticism.

Many dismissed him outright—what could a twelve-year-old possibly bring to Anbu? Why would Hokage-sama approve this?

Others, however, had different thoughts.

The Third Hokage wouldn't make such a decision lightly.

Perhaps this kid possessed hidden strength beyond their imagination.

After all, geniuses had always emerged young.

Some veteran Anbu recalled that just four or five years ago, another prodigy had joined their ranks—Uchiha Itachi.

The same Uchiha Itachi who later became the catalyst for his own clan's annihilation.

Of course, now, the name Uchiha Itachi…
