Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Breaking Limits
Although doubts lingered in his heart, Shin continued his rigorous training.
He noticed that his body underwent significant changes after consuming the Munch-Munch Fruit. Although his strength and speed didn't visibly increase, the Yang chakra within him surged multiple times over!
This newfound Yang chakra boost substantially improved his body's recovery speed. Likewise, his vitality seemed to enhance his chakra further. To test his theory, Shin focused solely on physical exercises over the past few days, temporarily setting aside his chakra training.
As a ten-year-old, Shin's physical potential surpassed the average person's on Earth, even without chakra. However, now he felt that he grew even stronger every time he pushed his body to the limit. Each repetition became easier whenever he performed ten thousand punches or ran tens of thousands of meters. With enough energy and consistency, his strength seemed limitless.
Of course, his increased appetite matched his growth.
The food in this world differed from what he was used to in Konoha. Not only was it nutrient-rich and delicious, but it also carried an energy akin to Yang chakra. Even before his transformation, Shin had noticed the benefits of these foods. Now, with his physique aligning more with this world's inhabitants, he could fully absorb their hidden potential.
The difference was stark; Shin's metabolism transformed, allowing him to draw out almost all the nutrients from each bite. His Munch-Munch Fruit powers amplified his ability to consume and store vast quantities of food, fueling his intense training sessions. During one of his earlier eating sprees, he left three restaurant chefs utterly exhausted, earning him the title "least welcome customer."
A week later, Shin returned to the hospital to find Jack and Ruth packing their bags.
"What's going on, Dr. Jack?" Shin asked, puzzled.
Jack glanced at him and sighed. "You're just in time, apprentice. Pack your things; we're leaving."
"Teacher, what happened? The hospital's running smoothly—why are we leaving?"
Jack didn't answer immediately, but Ruth's face contorted with anger. "The new king just issued some twisted law hunting down doctors. This kingdom's a lost cause!"
Ruth raged on, cursing every ancestor of the newly crowned Wapol until she had nothing left to say.
Realization struck Shin as he recalled Wapol's notorious actions from the original storyline. 'Ah, so the old king has already passed. Now, Wapol's in charge—how could I forget?'
"Teacher, I'm afraid I can't leave with you," Shin replied, resolute.
Jack looked at him, frowning. "Are you serious? And by the way, is it just me, or have you grown taller since I last saw you?"
Indeed, in just a few days, Shin's physical strength had nearly doubled due to his intense training. His body was lean but muscular, a testament to his newfound abilities.
"I'm serious," Shin responded. "You both might want to stick around a bit. I have a feeling things here might change soon."
Ruth raised an eyebrow at him, concerned. Jack immediately added, "Don't do anything reckless, kid."
Although they had only known each other for a few months, Jack and Ruth had quickly realized that Shin wasn't an ordinary boy. His calloused hands and honed muscles revealed a past of intensive training. To them, Shin's background seemed mysterious, perhaps involving espionage or assassination.
Shin caught their worried expressions and couldn't help but feel touched. But with a small, reassuring smile, he said, "No need to worry; this isn't a big deal for me. After all, Drum Kingdom is just a small country."
Jack and Ruth exchanged glances, but Shin vanished in a flash before they could say more, leaving them stunned.
