Chapter 11: CHAPTER 11
Do You Have to Take an Exam? Then Don't Blame Me! (Ask for Flowers!)
Hearing Kakashi's words, Kaito could no longer slack off. With a reluctant sigh, he had no choice but to step forward and accept the challenge.
"Alright, fine! I'll take the test!"
Seeing Kaito's unwilling expression, Kakashi's visible eye twitched slightly. Letting out a soft sigh, he muttered,
"Alright then… let's begin."
Kaito's eyes flickered with mischief as he processed the situation. Internally, he sneered,
"You're forcing me to take this exam? Heh, don't regret it later, Kakashi-sensei…"
Meanwhile, Naruto, as impulsive as ever, charged recklessly at Kakashi, only to be swiftly countered by the infamous Thousand Years of Death technique—a move Kakashi executed with practiced ease.
Watching Naruto go flying, Kaito felt a sudden chill creep up his spine. His gaze toward Kakashi subtly shifted, filled with both fear and newfound caution.
"Ahem… What's with that look?" Kakashi asked, raising an eyebrow. "This is an advanced taijutsu technique of Konohagakure! A profound art, you know."
Hearing Kakashi's words, Kaito rolled his eyes involuntarily. Is Taijutsu really that profound?
"So, are you planning to charge in head-on like Naruto?" Kakashi asked, noticing that Kaito hadn't moved to hide. He was puzzled—what exactly was Kaito trying to do?
"Ah! I just want to give it a shot, Kakashi-sensei!" Kaito nodded, showing no intention of denying it. His expression was eager, as if he was excited to test himself.
"Oh? That's unexpected," Kakashi remarked, his visible eye narrowing slightly. "I didn't think you had such a youthful side."
At that, Kaito frowned slightly. "Youthful side? You make me sound like an old man."
"Well, just think of it as passion," Kaito continued, shrugging. "I mean, isn't it normal? There are people who sit around eating junk food all day, never moving from their beds—then suddenly, one day, they decide to start working out."
Kakashi chuckled under his mask. "I suppose that's true. Well then, let's see if your motivation lasts longer than just today."
Hearing Kakashi's comment, Kaito scratched his head. He might not have been the most hardworking ninja, but did he really look like some washed-up veteran?
"Heh… what do you think?"
Kakashi scoffed at Kaito's words. According to the records, Kaito had rarely engaged in serious battles from his time at the Academy up until graduation. His combat history was sparse at best.
"Alright, Kakashi-sensei, enough talk—here I come!"
The moment the words left his mouth, Kaito pushed off the ground with explosive force, launching himself forward. Midair, he twisted his body and lashed out with a powerful spinning kick.
"Leaf Hurricane!"
Kakashi's lone eye narrowed as he observed Kaito's movements. His form was sharp—proof of solid taijutsu training.
"Not bad."
With a simple shift of his footing, Kakashi dodged backward, creating space between them and letting the kick pass harmlessly through the air.
Kaito landed but didn't hesitate. The moment Kakashi retreated, he rushed forward again, his fist driving straight toward the older ninja's face.
But despite his confidence, he held back. He knew that if he used his full power, he could end the fight in an instant. Where was the fun in that? If he truly wanted to defeat Kakashi, he wouldn't be playing around—he'd end it in a single strike.
Kakashi saw Kaito's punch coming but didn't panic. Instead, he reacted first, reaching out to grab Kaito's fist.
He attempted to pull Kaito toward him, expecting to throw him off balance. However, Kaito didn't budge—an unexpected and slightly embarrassing moment for Kakashi.
"Hmm…"
Kakashi looked up, only to see Kaito grinning at him.
"Not good!"
A bad feeling crept over Kakashi. He instinctively tried to let go, but he was a fraction too slow. Kaito's grip tightened in return, locking Kakashi in place.
"Get over here!"
With a sudden burst of strength, Kaito yanked Kakashi off balance, pulling him straight into his arms. Before Kakashi could react, Kaito's free hand clenched into a fist and swung straight toward Kakashi's face.
"Wait—stop!!!"
Kakashi realized what was coming and tried to dodge, but with his balance completely thrown off, it was too late. He could only throw up a last-second guard, but Kaito wasn't about to stop now.
"Boom!"
A solid punch landed directly on Kakashi's right eye.
"Ow!!!"
With a muffled grunt of pain, Kakashi staggered back, clutching his now-bruised eye. Kaito burst into laughter, pointing at Kakashi's face.
"Hahaha! Sensei, how do you like your new panda eye?"
Kakashi, now properly annoyed, rubbed his swelling eye and lunged at Kaito.
Kaito spun on his heel and bolted. His mission was accomplished—there was no need to stick around for round two!
