Chapter 203: Chapter 201: Effortless Capture

Chapter 201: Effortless Capture

Inside the space ring, Baishi first absorbed chakra from the Nine-Tails and Five-Tails, replenishing his own reserves, and then began to draw in natural energy from the surrounding environment.

Previously, he had reduced the time needed for this process to ten minutes. But now...

Three minutes later.

Baishi's aura abruptly shifted, and a silver Sage Face pattern quietly appeared on his brow.

Clearly, he had absorbed enough natural energy to activate Sage Mode.

From ten minutes down to three, this improvement highlighted just how significant the recent advancement of Energy Absorption had been.

And this was not the limit.

As Energy Absorption continued to improve, the time required would eventually approach zero.

Yes, Baishi had decided not to guide the ability toward absorbing other types of energy. Instead, he would focus entirely on increasing its efficiency in absorbing natural energy.

Of course, this meant his chakra requirements would become even more demanding.

"Good thing I have tailed beasts as rechargeable batteries..."

Muttering to himself, Baishi activated the Flying Thunder God: Guidance Seal inscribed on his space ring, tearing open a spatial rift and stepping into the outside world.

---

In the training room, Baishi noticed the unusual airflow around him but paid it no mind. It was merely the Spirit Gathering Array drawing in natural energy from the ninja world.

Though the natural energy concentration within the space ring was dense, the area it covered was limited, meaning its energy capacity was also finite.

Whenever Baishi used up the energy inside, the array would activate and replenish it by pulling energy from the outside world.

This caused minor disturbances, but they would soon subside once the space ring was fully replenished.

Picking up the ring and slipping it onto his finger, Baishi focused his consciousness into his spiritual domain.

Confirming that Hotaru had encountered no issues, he locked onto Hotaru's location and activated the Flying Thunder God Technique.

After a few jumps, he appeared behind Hotaru.

---

In the Land of Waterfalls.

By a waterfall, Hotaru and several former Root operatives lay hidden, their eyes fixed intently on the cascade ahead.

The scene was eerily quiet, save for the occasional chirping of birds and the constant rush of the waterfall.

"What's the situation?"

A voice suddenly echoed in their ears.

Startled, Hotaru and the others turned to see Baishi standing nearby, having appeared without a sound.

"Lord Baishi!"

They quickly dropped to their knees in deference.

Baishi nodded slightly, his gaze falling on the waterfall.

"Is Takigakure just beyond this?"

"Yes, my lord!" Hotaru stepped forward and replied.

"And the Seven-Tails—is it confirmed to be inside?"

"Yes."

Hotaru gestured toward one of the operatives beside him. "Zhenji infiltrated the village earlier and personally observed the jinchūriki, a girl named Fū."

Hearing this, Baishi turned his gaze to Zhenji.

Under Baishi's scrutiny, Zhenji nodded emphatically, recounting his entire reconnaissance mission, including a detailed description of Fū's appearance.

Cross-referencing this with his own knowledge, Baishi confirmed the accuracy of the report.

With that settled, it was time to act.

Grabbing Zhenji by the shoulder, Baishi instructed the others, "Stay here and wait. I'll be back shortly."

"Yes, my lord!"

The group replied in unison.

Baishi then locked onto a Flying Thunder God Mark inside the waterfall and teleported.

This mark had been left by Zhenji during his earlier infiltration.

---

Inside Takigakure.

In a secluded corner of the village, a kunai etched with a tree-shaped mark rested silently.

Suddenly, the kunai glimmered, and two figures materialized beside it.

As his feet touched the ground, Zhenji realized he had been transported into the village. The transition had been so instantaneous that he barely had time to process it.

The sensation of teleportation left him disoriented, his mind spinning.

But Baishi wasted no time.

"Where did you last see the target?"

The question jolted Zhenji back to clarity.

"This way, my lord!" he answered promptly, leading Baishi deeper into the village.

Takigakure was a stark contrast to the Five Great Nations' hidden villages. It was small and unassuming, with limited ninja capabilities. The civilians, however, appeared to enjoy a peaceful and comfortable life.

This tranquility likely stemmed from the current village leader, Shibuki, who was known for his pacifist policies.

Despite its present state, Takigakure had a storied past. It was the only minor village ever entrusted with a tailed beast, and it had once produced formidable figures like Kakuzu.

But its decision to relocate underground marked the start of its decline.

As Baishi mused, Zhenji stopped in front of a courtyard.

Children were playing and laughing inside while several adults, presumably teachers, stood nearby.

Unlike the formal ninja academies of larger villages, Takigakure followed a more traditional apprenticeship model. This courtyard served as their classroom.

"My lord, this is the place," Zhenji whispered, pointing toward the courtyard.

But Baishi had already identified the target.

Amid the crowd, one figure stood out—a girl with vibrant green hair. Her appearance matched the description of Fū perfectly, and the tail beast chakra emanating from her made her identity unmistakable.

Curiously, Fū seemed to sense Baishi's gaze. She turned toward him, and in an instant, her tailed beast chakra surged uncontrollably.

Baishi didn't hesitate. In a flash, he appeared before her.

Grabbing her shoulder, he activated Energy Absorption, instantly neutralizing the rising chakra.

He could faintly hear the buzzing of insects.

"So, this is the Seven-Tails..."

Baishi muttered, placing a hand on Fū's abdomen.

"Five-Element Seal."

A sealing jutsu spread from his palm, suppressing the Seven-Tails completely and halting any further chakra leakage.

"What's going on?!"

The commotion finally alerted the Takigakure shinobi, who moved to intervene.

But Baishi ignored them.

Teleporting back to Zhenji, he grabbed him as well.

In the blink of an eye, the three disappeared, leaving behind only stunned onlookers.
