Chapter 6: Chapter 6 : No ambition??
Ding Dong Ding Dong!
Two shurikens hit the bullseye on two wooden targets, sticking halfway in. It was an impressive feat—one that few could accomplish.
"How's that?" Genya looked at his work, clapping his hands and lifting his head proudly, though his small face showed a hint of indifference and disappointment. "Ah, two missed the bullseye. What a pity!"
It seemed that missing the bullseye twice was not what he had hoped for.
Uchiha Zentaro's mouth twitched. Despite Genya's youth, his cleverness was already quite remarkable. Though he didn't particularly like Genya's subtle cleverness, Uchiha Zentaro still offered praise.
"You have great talent. With hard work, even if you don't awaken the Sharingan, you will surely become a top ninja and make significant contributions to our clan and Konoha."
These were his sincere words. Genya's talent was indeed strong, and even without the Sharingan, he had the potential to become a top ninja.
After all, many top ninjas achieved greatness without a bloodline limit—like Jiraiya, the Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze, and Hatake Shomo.
"While I appreciate your support, I am naturally talented, but..." Genya's tone remained calm, but his next words were different. "But I have no desire to become a ninja. I've never had any grand ambitions. I just want my family to be safe."
He spoke genuinely, showing no interest in the village or the clan's ambitions.
"Humph, he really has no ambition. No matter how talented he is, he will never become a strong man in the future!" Itachi thought to himself with a sneer.
He had expected Genya to become a top ninja, but now he saw that Genya lacked ambition. He had no sense of honor and responsibility towards the village or the Uchiha clan.
An Uchiha clan member who holds a strong sense of honor for the village is rare, and it is these people who sometimes create a stalemate between the village and the clan.
Itachi's gaze towards Genya grew colder. If he needed to assert his authority in the future, Genya would be the one to make an example of.
Uchiha Zentaro fell silent after hearing Genya's words. After a long pause, he said, "Once you become a ninja, you'll earn substantial rewards from missions."
Each ninja's missions come with monetary rewards, which are an important source of livelihood for them.
"A generous reward? Is it as much as what my father Uchiha Kinya earns?" Genya asked.
Zentaro shook his head. "No!"
Uchiha Kinya is one of the richest people in the Land of Fire. A Jonin working hard on missions for a year might not make as much as he makes in a day.
Uchiha Genya said, "Then I'll just wait to inherit my father's business in the future!"
Uchiha Genya's comment left everyone speechless, but it was a reasonable choice.
While others work hard and risk their lives to earn more, he has a business that makes money without effort. Who would choose to risk their life to be a ninja if they have money?
"Then why do you still come to the training ground to practice?" Uchiha Zentaro asked. "Isn't your dream to become a ninja?"
He didn't want such a talented child to fade away before he had the chance to shine.
"That's not it. I came here to practice because even if I don't want to be a ninja, I still need to train," Genya said seriously. "Even though my family is wealthy, everyone should be able to protect themselves. I don't want to be like him, needing two ninjas to guard me every time I go out!"
If you are strong enough, no one can threaten you.
Of course, he also had another reason for saying this: he didn't want to attract too much attention from Konoha too soon. With the ruthlessness of the Third Hokage and Danzo, he might be eliminated before he even had a chance to grow.
Uchiha Zentaro was at a loss with Uchiha Genya's nonchalant attitude.
If someone lacks the desire and perseverance to practice, no matter how talented they are, their future achievements will be limited.
At most, they might only reach the level of a Chunin.
This is exactly how Genya is now. He sighed and decided to stop worrying about him. After all, Genya was wealthy and could rely on his father's support for the rest of his life.
However, the other younger Uchiha members looked down on Genya even more.
Time passed quickly, and evening arrived.
As the sun set, the Uchiha clan members had been training all day, and some had already left.
But Uchiha Itachi and Sasuke were still hard at work. They were putting in a lot of effort and had earned recognition from their instructors.
Meanwhile, Genya was still lying behind the bluestone, basking in the sunset and looking particularly relaxed.
"Genya!"
At that moment, a pleasant voice called out from a short distance.
Startled, Genya sat up abruptly, blinking and turning toward the sound.
His movements were as nimble as someone well-trained.
Even Uchiha Zentaro's eyes lit up at the sight.
He turned to see a beautiful woman approaching with a warm smile in her eyes.
It was Genya's mother, Senju Yumi.
As a descendant of the First Hokage's clan, she was not only beautiful but also carried the dynamic nature of the Senju clan.
Perhaps due to his marriage to someone from the Senju family, Genya's father, Uchiha Kinya, was not particularly welcomed in the Uchiha clan.
"Mom, why are you here?" Genya exclaimed, running up with his small backpack on his back, looking both surprised and stubborn.
Senju Yumi hadn't planned to come, but given her family's position within the Uchiha clan and Genya's special status, she was a bit concerned. She worried that Genya might be mistreated on the training ground.
So she decided to come after all.
As soon as she arrived, she noticed the disdain and exclusion from the other Uchiha children toward Genya, which made her feel even more troubled.
"My Genya has been wronged. Are you tired?" The beautiful woman asked as she saw her little boy running over. She added, "Let's go home, and I'll make you something delicious!"
Genya shook his head firmly. "I'm not tired!"
But to Senju Yumi, it sounded like her son was trying to hide how upset he was. This made her feel even more distressed.
"Genya... if you don't want to practice, you don't have to come. I can support you!" Senju Yumi said with concern and affection in her voice.
"No, I want to come back!" Genya shook his head. He wanted to meet some of the Uchiha clan members here who might be useful in the future and learn some ninjutsu. "Mom, I need a favor."
"What is it?" Senju Yumi was surprised. Her son had never asked her for something like this before.
Genya took a deep breath and said, "I want to find a Taijutsu teacher!"
His Dual Pupil eyes had the traits of Byakugan, which made him well-suited for Taijutsu.
"Taijutsu? A sensei?"
